BIGBANG, Lee Min Ho, and Others Are Recognized for Their Influence on SNS

BIGBANG, Lee Min Ho, and several other stars are the leading figures in SNS culture due to their massive influence online and were awarded for their efforts to cultivate a positive SNS atmosphere.

On June 30, during the SNS Industry Awards, Lee Min Ho was awarded with the Director of the National Information Society Agency Award, while BIGBANG received the Director of the Korea Internet and Security Agency Award. Kim Na Young will be receiving the Director of the SNS Industry Development Institute Award.

The awardees’ influence on the internet undeniable—Lee Min Ho has 2.6 million followers on Twitter, BIGBANG has 4.1 million YouTube subscribers, and Kim Na Young actively interacted with her fans while planning and publicizing her book.

The SNS Industry Awards is held to honor those who have played a primary role in leading SNS culture and the development of the industry in a positive direction. It is an annual event held by the SNS Industry Development Institute.

BIGBANG Releases “If You” and MV for “Sober”

BIGBANG is back again to kick off the next month of summer with “MADE Series-D.”

On July 1, BIGBANG dropped singles “If You” and “Sober,” but unlike previous “MADE Series” installments, only released a music video for dance track “Sober.”

According to an insider source, the decision to not release a music video for “If You” may be based on either or both logistical and musical reasons. “While working on their ‘MADE’ project, BIGBANG has been simultaneously on their world tour so schedule-wise they have been extremely busy,” the source said. “But more than that reason, ‘If You’ is the saddest song that BIGBANG has released since their debut in 2006, so a music video wasn’t filmed.”

Moreover, “‘If You’ is a song that touches hearts,” the source explained, “The music video wasn’t filmed for this song with the intention of [having listeners] focus on the music itself.”
