The police has reportedly booked BIGBANG’s G-Dragon for a drug-related violation.

On October 25, News1 reported that G-Dragon had been booked without detention by the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency on the charge of violating the Act on the Control of Narcotics, Etc.

The police commented, “Because it’s a case that’s currently under investigation, we cannot reveal concrete details.”

However, they went on to clarify that the case was not related to that of actor Lee Sun Gyun, who is currently being investigated for drug use and stepped down from a drama earlier this week.

“This is a separate case that has no connection to Lee,” said the police.

Later that evening, when asked to comment on the matter, YG Entertainment told Xportsnews, “[G-Dragon] is currently not an artist under our agency, so it is difficult for us to make an official response.”

YG Entertainment previously revealed back in June that their exclusive contract with G-Dragon had expired.

BIGBANG’s Daesung has reunited with Yoo Jae Suk!

On October 16, STARNEWS reported that BIGBANG’s Daesung recently finished filming for MBC’s “How Do You Play?”

In response to the report, the production team of “How Do You Play?” shared, “It is true that Daesung will appear on ‘How Do You Play?’ The broadcast schedule for Daesung’s episodes is yet to be decided.”

Daesung is reuniting with Yoo Jae Suk on television for the first time in 13 years since co-starring together on SBS’s “Family Outing.”

After Daesung parted ways with YG Entertainment after 16 years late last year, he signed an exclusive contract with R&D Company with a dedicated team for Daesung called “D-LABLE.” Earlier this month, Daesung was confirmed to star on MBN’s upcoming trot competition show “King of Singers” (literal translation) as a judge.

BIGBANG’s Daesung is making a return to variety shows as a judge in an upcoming trot competition!

On October 6, MBN announced Daesung as a judge on its upcoming trot competition show, “Living Legend” (liberal translation).

“Living Legend” is a survival music variety program that will select the top 7 currently active female trot singers who will represent South Korea at the 2024 Korea-Japan Trot Legend Championship.

Even before its premiere, the program is already gaining attention as it is created by the same team behind hit shows like “Miss Trot,” “Mr. Trot,” and “Burning Trotman.” Furthermore, Shin Dong Yup has been announced as MC for the program, marking his debut as a trot music variety show host.

In addition to BIGBANG’s group activities, Daesung has showcased his versatility as a solo artist, delving into various genres such as rock, ballad, and trot. Notably, his trot songs, “Look at Me, Gwisoon” and “It’s a Big Hit,” garnered immense affection in Korea. In addition to his music career, he has also appeared on popular variety shows like “Family Outing” and “Night After Night” as a fixed panel member.

As he now takes on the role of a “special national producer” on the show, fans eagerly anticipate the new and unique charms he will bring to the table. This appearance will also mark his first regular variety show appearance in 12 years.

Daesung expressed his anticipation, stating, “I’m looking forward to this opportunity to gain valuable experience alongside exceptional mentors and senior artists. I also have big concerns about how I can contribute and provide assistance. I’ll approach this with the goal to offer my help as best as I can to as many people as possible.”
