Voting has officially begun for the 2018 Melon Music Awards!

The 2018 Melon Music Awards has kicked off its first round of voting by revealing the list of 40 artists who are nominated for this year’s Top 10.

Only artists who released music between December 2, 2017 and October 25, 2018 were eligible, and the nominees were selected by calculating the number of downloads, streams, and weekly Melon Popularity Award votes achieved by each artist.

Voting for the top 10 will run from October 26 to November 13 KST on Melon’s website and mobile app, followed by a second round of category voting for specific awards.

The 2018 Melon Music Awards will take place on December 1 at the Gocheok Sky Dome. The awards show will also air live via JTBC2, JTBC4, 1theK, and KakaoTV.

The Korean Business Research Institute has revealed this month’s brand reputation rankings for singers!

The rankings were determined through an analysis of singers’ media coverage, consumer participation, interaction, and community indexes, using big data collected from September 26 to October 27.

BTS took first place in the rankings for the third consecutive month, scoring a brand reputation index of 19,903,080 for October.

High-ranking phrases in the group’s keyword analysis included “thankful,” “do one’s best,” and “happy,” while their highest-ranking related terms included “return home,” “Jimin,” and “Waste It on Me.” BTS’s positivity-negativity analysis also revealed a score of 82.99 percent positive reactions.

BLACKPINK maintained their spot at second place with a brand reputation index of 8,722,222, while Wanna One held onto third place with a score of 7,716,213 for October.

October Brand Reputation Rankings For Individual Boy Group Members Revealed

The Korean Business Research Institute has released the brand reputation rankings for individual boy group members for the month of October.

The Institute analyzed big data from 445 individual boy group members during the period between September 18 and October 19. The amount of data, from various areas such as consumer participation, media coverage, communication, and community awareness, decreased about 34.59 percent from last month.

Topping the list this month was Wanna One’s Kang Daniel, with a total score of 7,721,034. This is a 21.31 percent decrease from his score in September, where he placed second.

In second place this month was BIGBANG’s Seungri, with a total score of 5,405,268. This is a 115.70 percent increase from last month’s score of 2,505,881.

In third place was BTS’s Jimin, with a total score of 5,196,621. This is a 48.75 percent decrease from September’s rankings, where he placed first.
