[OFFICIAL] BIGBANG’s New Single ‘FLOWER ROAD’ to be Released on the 13th… Composed By GD·Written By T.O.P “Made With Enlistment in Mind”

[OSEN=김은애 기자] BIGBANG’s upcoming surprise single is unveiling its details, little by little.

Today (10th), YG Entertainment revealed the fact that the title of BIGBANG’s upcoming single which will be released on the 13th is ‘FLOWER ROAD’, on their official blog. The multi-colored flowers in harmony with each other on the teaser poster with the song’s title captures the viewers’ attention. The lyrics written by leader G-DRAGON and oldest member T.O.P adds ardent emotions to the song. BIGBANG’s feelings toward the fans while facing farewell due to enlistment are engraved into the lyrics.

G-DRAGON, who also serves as a producer for BIGBANG, participated in the composing of the song as well. In the creation of the melody, he collaborated with The Fliptones, who also participated in creating GD X TAEYANG’s ‘GOOD BOY’ and TAEYANG’s ‘Stay With Me’.

‘FLOWER ROAD’ was created by members of BIGBANG with their upcoming enlistments in mind, while they were working on their latest official album, ‘MADE’. That is precisely why the song will be released on the date of DAESUNG’s enlistment on the 13th, following TAEYANG’s enlistment on the 12th.

The song ‘FLOWER ROAD’ is receiving high attention since it will be a song by BIGBANG to be released in a year and 3 months. Furthermore, since all 5 members were featured in the song, the surprise release will be fruitful showers for the fans in and out of Korea, who will miss BIGBANG while the group is on break while the members serve military duty.

Following BIGBANG’s oldest member T.O.P, G-DRAGON enlisted in the ‘White Skull’ Division located in Cheorwon, Gangwon-do on February 27. TAEYANG will enlist in the ‘Blue Star’ 6th Division Recruit Training Center located in Cheorwon, Gangwon-do on the upcoming 12th, while DAESUNG will enter the ‘Ikija’ 27th Division Recruit Training Center on the 13th. The youngest member SEUNGRI is currently preparing for his solo album which will be released this year, as well as performing his scheduled activities in and out of Korea.

YG Asks Fans To Refrain From Sending Letters To G-Dragon’s Military Unit

On March 10, YG Entertainment released a statement regarding fans sending letters to G-Dragon during his military enlistment.

YG Entertainment first thanked fans for their concern and shared that the singer was currently healthy and training. The agency then stated that the large influx of letters had flooded the unit’s email, and that this had created some problems for the unit. Unable to print out all of the large volume of messages for G-Dragon, not only was he unable to read all the messages but his fellow soldiers were also unable to receive their own letters. The agency concluded by requesting the fans to refrain a little from sending messages to the unit.

Read YG Entertainment’s full statement below:

“This is an urgent message from YG Entertainment to all of G-Dragon’s fans.

“On February 27, as a man of the Republic of Korea, G-Dragon began his mandatory military service. With all of your warm support, he’s been doing well with training.

“Due to the large number of letters, however, G-Dragon has been put into an awkward situation within his unit, so we ask for one request.

“The training center’s email account has been flooded with messages to G-Dragon, to the point that it is preventing the operations of the unit. The unit prints the emails to distribute to the soldiers, but the A4 paper, printer ink, and such have apparently almost run out. Due to the overload, the unit is having problems with the supply and demand of providing the messages, making it difficult for the other soldiers to receive their letters.

“As this has continued, G-Dragon has become increasingly apologetic towards his fellow soldiers, and he is even more sorry that he is unable to read all the messages sent to him.

“In such a new environment, he is thankful and feels strength from his fans’ worry and support. However, in order for G-Dragon’s life at his training center to go smoothly, we would be very thankful if fans could refrain a little from sending their letters.

“Thank you for reading until the end.”

G-Dragon enlisted on February 27, where he entered the 3rd Infantry Division recruit training center. He is scheduled to be discharged from the military on November 26, 2019.
