[뉴스엔=박아름 기자] YG Foods opened YG REPUBLIQUE that promotes Korean wave and culture at ‘Jeju Shinhwa World’. 

On February 25, YG Entertainment’s YG Foods, specialized in offering Korean foods and dining (Hee Young Noh as representative), held a ceremony to celebrate the opening of ‘YG REPUBLIQUE’ in Jeju Shinhwa World, properly starting their Korean wave marketing.  

YG Entertainment’s YANG HYUN SUK, Noh Hee Young from YG Foods, Lamjung Group’s Yang Jihye, and artist G-DRAGON participated the grand opening to add more meaning to the event. 

Starting with the hand printing by main participants of the event, various exhibits and performances gathered attention of the audiences. G-DRAGON displayed his affections and passion on this project by presenting GD Café and his own art paintings created by himself at ‘Untitled 2017’.

YG Foods is planning to act as a bridge that supports tourist allurement in Jeju Island and assists in the expansion of the Korean wave, as well as taking a leap to become a comprehensive global dining & entertainment brand. 

Meanwhile, G-DRAGON finalized his official schedule with this event and will enlist as active duty on February 27.

Yang Hyun Suk Thinks BIGBANG’s Taeyang And Seungri Will Stay With Him For Rest Of His Life

YG Entertainment head Yang Hyun Suk has shared a new photo of himself spending some quality time with BIGBANG’s Taeyang and Seungri on Jeju Island!

On February 24, Yang Hyun Suk revealed that he had enjoyed breakfast and coffee with the two BIGBANG members while on Jeju Island. The YG Entertainment founder posted a photo on Instagram and wrote in the hashtags in Korean, “Jeju Island—coffee after breakfast.”

He also pointed out that Taeyang had been at YG Entertainment for 18 years, while Seungri had been with the agency for 13 years. He wrote in Korean, “For some reason, I feel like they’re dongsaengs [younger brothers] that will stay together with me until the end of my life.”

Taeyang recently confirmed that he would be enlisting in the military on March 12, while Seungri was announced to be starring in YG Entertainment’s upcoming sitcom.

BIGBANG’s G-Dragon To Reportedly Enter Well-Known Infantry Division For His Military Enlistment

After YG Entertainment confirmed that BIGBANG’s G-Dragon will be enlisting in the military on February 27, reported details about where he will be undergoing his basic training have been revealed.

According to an industry source, G-Dragon will be entering the 3rd Infantry Division recruit training center located in Cheorwon, Gangwon Province on February 27. Enlisting as an active-duty solider, he will be undergoing five weeks of basic training before receiving his military assignment.

The 3rd Infantry Division, widely known as the “White Skull” or skeleton unit, is where actors Joo Won and Ji Chang Wook are also currently carrying out their military service. They are assigned to the 23rd infantry regiment and artillery brigade of this unit respectively.

The Ministry of National Defense has explained they will not be confirming the exact location at the request of YG Entertainment. As previously announced, the BIGBANG member will be entering quietly with no official farewell events in order to prevent any potential chaos.

Before he enlists, G-Dragon will be carrying out his last scheduled event at the opening of the Jeju Island branch of YG Republique on February 25. Soon after, fellow BIGBANG member Taeyang will also be enlisting on March 12.
