2025 MAMA AWARDS Announces Nominees + Fans' Choice Voting Begins

It’s that time of year again!

On October 16, the nominations were announced for the 2025 MAMA AWARDS.

This year’s ceremony will take place at the Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong on November 28 and 29.

The criteria for the final winners are as follows:

  • Artist of the Year and Artist Category Awards – 40% judging evaluation, 30% streaming/downloads (20% Korea + 10% global), 30% physical album sales
  • Song of the Year and Genre Category Awards – 40% judging evaluation, 60% streaming/downloads (40% Korea + 20% global)
  • Album of the Year – 40% judging evaluation, 60% physical album sales (of albums that sold at least 1 million copies)
  • Best Music Video and Best Choreography – 100% judging evaluation
  • Fans’ Choice Male/Female
    • Round 1: 90% Mnet Plus votes, 10% X votes
    • Round 2: 90% Mnet Plus votes, 10% X votes
  • Fans’ Choice of the Year
    • 90% Mnet Plus votes, 10% X votes
    • additional 10% realtime Mnet Plus votes

The first round of voting for the Fans’ Choice nominees will take place through October 26 at 11:59 p.m. KST. The 20 artists selected each from the pre-vote for each of the Fans’ Choice Male and Fans’ Choice Female categories will move onto the second round of voting, which will take place from October 30 at 6 p.m. KST through November 10 at 11:59 p.m. KST.

In order to be eligible, the music must have been released between October 1, 2024 and September 30, 2025.

    Circle Chart (formerly known as Gaon Chart) has revealed its chart rankings for the week of April 6 to 12!

    Album Chart

    NCT’s Mark achieved a double crown on this week’s charts with his first solo album “The Firstfruit” and its title track “1999,” which topped the physical album chart and the digital download chart respectively.

    Mark claimed two of the top four spots on this week’s album chart with “The Firstfruit”: the regular version of the album debuted at No. 1, while the Nemo version charted separately at No. 4.

    THE BOYZ’s “Unexpected” stayed strong at No. 2 on this week’s chart, while AMPERS&ONE’s “WILD&FREE” and FANTASY BOYS’ “UNDENIABLE” debuted at No. 3 and No. 5 respectively.

    Overall Digital Chart

    BIGBANG’s G-Dragon once again maintained his double crown on the Circle charts with his hit song “TOO BAD” (featuring Anderson .Paak), which remained No. 1 on both the overall digital chart and streaming chart this week.

    SEVENTEEN’s HxW topped this week’s digital download chart with their unit debut track “96ers,” which debuted at No. 1.

    G-Dragon’s “TOO BAD” maintained its position at No. 2, while Young Tak’s “Unknown Life” (from the soundtrack of the KBS drama “For Eagle Brothers”) rose to No. 3.

    Yeji’s solo debut track “Air” entered the chart at No. 4, and Jennie’s “like JENNIE” held steady at No. 5.

    BLACKPINK’s Rosé and Bruno Mars’ “APT.” continued its reign at No. 1 on the global K-pop chart this week.

    Jennie swept the next three spots on the chart, with “like JENNIE” rising to No. 2, “ExtraL” (featuring Doechii) staying strong at No. 3, and “Handlebars” (featuring Dua Lipa) jumping to No. 4.

    Finally, BTS’s j-hope’s “Sweet Dreams” (featuring Miguel) shot to No. 5 for the week.

    October Idol Group Brand Reputation Rankings Announced

    The Korean Business Research Institute has revealed this month’s brand reputation rankings for all idol groups!

    The rankings were determined through an analysis of the consumer participation, media coverage, interaction, and community awareness indexes of various idol groups, using big data collected from September 14 to October 14.

    BTS rose to the top of the list this month after seeing an 80.99 percent increase in their brand reputation index since September, bringing their score to a total of 7,738,515. High-ranking phrases in the group’s keyword analysis included “Spring Day,” “ARMY,” and “fan concert,” while their highest-ranking related terms included “donate,” “congratulate,” and “collaborate.” BTS’s positivity-negativity analysis also revealed a score of 92.24 percent positive reactions.

    IVE took second place for October with a brand reputation index of 4,824,596 for the month.

    SEVENTEEN climbed to third place with a brand reputation index of 4,640,599, marking a 31.03 percent rise in their score since last month.

    Meanwhile, BLACKPINK came in fourth place with a brand reputation index of 4,001,522.

    Finally, Red Velvet rounded out the top five with a brand reputation index of 2,978,329.
