Mounted in collaboration with Prudential Eye program founder Serenella Ciclitira, ArtScience Museum executive director Honor Harger, and independent Korean curator Young Joo Lee, Prudential Eye Zone features 17 artists hailing from Japan, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
These artists include Japanese new media collective teamLab, Indonesian artist Christine Ay Tjoe, Japanese sculptor Teppei Kaneuji, Singaporean artist Donna Ong, Malaysian artist Sherman Ong, and Indonesian artist Bagus Pandega, who will show their works alongside the Prudential Singapore Eye exhibition. Both shows will run until June 28.
T.O.P., who was involved in selecting the pieces by the eight participating Korean and Japanese artists, expressed his support and enthusiasm for the Prudential Eye showcase as an important, high-visibility platform for emerging Asian talents. “My interest in art began from admiring world-renowned contemporary artists’ masterpieces, their concepts and visions. Traveling around Asia, this interest naturally broadened towards young and influential Asian contemporary artists. While in Asia, I had the privilege to learn about the Prudential Eye Program and decided to participate in the program as I deeply felt that it was a great platform to celebrate and introduce young Asian contemporary artists. I hope that everyone who visits the Prudential Eye Zone exhibition goes away inspired by the various artworks on display.”
Prudential Eye Zone runs at the ArtScience Museum through June 28, 2015.
