Three years since the last release together, fans eagerly await the release of BIGBANG's next group album.
YG Entertainment's top male idol group BIGBANG is reportedly planning a 2015 comeback, and there is a growing sense of anxiety over the continually delayed reports of a comeback date. As fans wait for a group comeback, the three year hiatus becomes more prominent, and BIGBANG's solo activities since releasing "Alive" become more and more anecdotal.
BIGBANG last released music as a group in 2012, and was reported to make a 2015 comeback, but YG Entertainment has reportedly denied a March comeback date.
However, the last three years of hiatus has been one of BIGBANG's most prolific periods.
BIGBANG's "Alive" was released in early 2012, and following that, BIGBANG's focused on abundance solo and group projects. G-Dragon's iconic solo album, "One of a Kind," was released in the end of 2012, while T.O.P, Daesung, Seungri, and G-Dragon all released music in 2013, and Taeyang and Daesung both released albums in 2014.
BIGBANG, despite the alleged "hiatus," toured throughout 2012-14. Not only did BIGBANG join YG Entertainment's YG Family concerts, but the group held two Korean tours, two Japanese dome tours, and members held four individual concert tours.
Along with musical careers, Seungri appeared in several dramas while T.O.P garnered much attention for his roles in several movies.
As a group, BIGBANG hasn't released an album in sometime, but the three year period between "Alive" and the group's upcoming album has become one of BIGBANG's most iconic periods.
As for the album itself, YG Entertainment's CEO, Yang Hyun Suk, discussed BIGBANG's upcoming album with praise.
"Listening to their new songs, I thought this is why BIGBANG is BIGBANG, the eldest and best artist of YG. Not only the title song but also every other song is great."
