[스포츠조선=박현택 기자] The most popular TV show in Korea will meet the most popular idol boy group in Korea.

That is the combination of MBC TV’s “The Infinite Challenge” show and BIGBANG. This best-possible combination for an entertainment TV show will mark the grand finale of the year 2016. According to a broadcasting insider, BIGBANG and “The Infinite Challenge” have recently agreed on and confirmed BIGBANG’s appearance in the show by the end of this year.

The insider said to Sports Chosun on November 30, “Actually, BIGBANG’s appearance in the show was discussed from last year, but the timing was missed unfortunately. So they have been looking for the right time for BIGBANG’s appearance in the show. Finally, it was confirmed to be the end of this year. As the combination of BIGBANG and ‘The Infinite Challenge’ is not an easy one, all related people are now contemplating upon what will be the best kind of format for BIGBANG’s episode of the show”. BIGBANG’s will appear in “The Infinite Challenge” show as a complete team for the first time in five years since their last appearance in the show in 2011.

The combination of “The Infinite Challenge” and BIGBANG is drawing keen attention, as it bears significant meaning. “The Infinite Challenge” and BIGBANG have been the leader of each one’s respective field of broadcasting and music, for the past 10 years of great changes. 

“The Infinite Challenge” show has been aired for 11 years. It played a great role as the best TV show in Korea this year, too, giving best entertainment and lessons to its viewers. BIGBANG who marked the 10^th anniversary of their debut this year fascinated music fans in Korea and the world once again, with “M.A.D.E” project that began last year. And now, BIGBANG will round off the year of their 10^th anniversary by appearing in Korea’s best TV show “The Infinite Challenge” and will have the most meaningful memory before the team’s eldest member T.O.P joins the police for his mandatory military service. 

In the meantime, BIGBANG will officially release their third full album “M.A.D.E” on December 12, eight years after their last full album. On January 7 and 8 in 2017, BIGBANG will hold concerts at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul. The BIGBANG episode of “The Infinite Challenge” show will be broadcasted in mid-December.

After GD performed in “The Infinite Challenge”s “Seohaean Expressway Music Festival”, he has performed in the show’s “Jayooro Music Festival”, “Yeongdong Expressway Music Festival”, as well as two episodes of “Muhan-Sangsa”. The complete team of BIGBANG also appeared in the “Gangs of Seoul” episode of “The Infinite Challenge”. Every episode of the show in which BIGBANG appeared recorded enormously high viewer ratings and created sensation.

BIGBANG is going for “The Infinite Challenge”. It is their first appearance in the show as a complete team in five years, since the “Gangs of Seoul” episode aired in 2011. In the “Gangs of Seoul” episode, BIGBANG members and the cast members of “The Infinite Challenge” divided into two teams, to engage in a chase. In a serious atmosphere, the two teams competed against each other by playing rock-paper-scissors. The serious competition between BIGBANG members and “The Infinite Challenge” members gave viewers a very special entertainment. Now, the viewers of the show are paying keen attention to whether the new BIGBANG episode will present another chase.

He created a big sensation with “Having an Affair” sang with Park Myung-soo and boasted perfect chemistry for “Going to Try” that he performed with Jung Hyung-don. In “Yeongdong Expressway” music festival last year, not only G-DRAGON but also TAEYANG joined Kwanghee to perform “Oh My God”. The collaboration between BIGBANG and the music festival of “The Infinite Challenge” that presents quality music and performances has left strong impression.

The connection between BIGBANG and “The Infinite Challenge” that began in music festivals lead to GD’s acting in “Muhan-Sangsa”, which is one of the show’s best episodes. G-DRAGON first appeared in the “Muhan-Sangsa” episode in 2012, acting an unsophisticated intern “Gwon”. He showed natural harmony with the cast of “The Infinite Challenge” show. Then, G-DRAGON left a strong impression again by acting in this year’s “Muhan-Sangsa – A Man in Crisis” episode where famous actors including Kim Hyesoo, Lee Jehoon, and Kunimura Joon also appeared. The “Muhan-Sangsa” episode in which G-DRAGON acted recorded outstandingly high viewer ratings and a remarkable hit. 

BIGBANG and “The Infinite Challenge” show have collaborated in a variety of forms so far. The new BIGBANG episode is expected to be an outstanding one as well.
