15,000 Fans Flocked to BIGBANG’s First Concert in Mexico


[OSEN=??? ??] YG ENTERTAINMENT’s leading boy group BIGBANG attracted 15,000 fans to the concert held in Mexico as part of their world tour, demonstrating their presence as a global star.

On Oct. 7th local time, BIGBANG held a concert and met with their fans at ARENA CIUDAD DE MEXICO, located in Mexico City. Despite the fact that this was their first concert in Mexico, 15,000 fans flocked to the concert.

A number of fans holding placards formed lines in and outside of the airport before they arrived in Mexico. And some fans came to the concert place 4-5 hours before the concert started, and sang along and danced to BIGBANG’s music in anticipation and excitement. 

The roads around the concert place were filled with the fans to the extent that the cars were unable to pass. In particular, the fans put up tents and waited for a long time to get standing seats, which were available on a first-come first-serve basis, in an effort to see BIGBANG from up close.

BIGBANG started the concert with their song “BANG BANG BANG,” displaying perfect live singing and impressive performances. VCR screens were installed on the both sides of the stage and the ceiling, so the fans at a distance could vividly ir every single movement.

BIGBANG sang hit songs from their recent “MADE” Project, including “IF YOU” and “LOSER” as well as their previous hit songs such as “BAD BOY” and “FANTASTIC BABY.” They excited the fans with glamorous performances and their distinctive feel. The members also performed solo, singing songs like “CROOKED” and “EYES NOSE LIPS,” displaying their singing skills and unique charm. The fans cheered, singing along in Korean and shaking glowing sticks. 

BIGBANG held concerts in Las Vegas, L.A., Anaheim and Mexico City, attracting 49,000 fans in total. They are scheduled to perform in New Jersey on Oct. 10th and 11th, and in Toronto on Oct. 13th, continuing their North American Tour.

BIGBANG's 'Bang Bang Bang' Soars Back To Billboard World Digital Songs Chart Following Hype From North American Tour

Popular songs returning to music charts is nothing new, but it is something exciting when that song is BIGBANG's hit, "Bang Bang Bang."

The BIGBANG song, released in June, returned to the top of Billboard's World Digital Songs chart this week. The song is so popular that it appeared in the number three spot on the chart for the week of Oct. 17.

"Bang Bang Bang" has been on the Billboard chart for 18 weeks.

BIGBANG are currently touring North America, and have two shows coming up this weekend in Newark, New Jersey. The group has had a lot of coverage related to the tour, and "Bang Bang Bang" has become one of the group's most popular songs as of late.

K-pop songs often appear on the Billboard World Digital Songs chart, and BIGBANG has snagged several top spots throughout the year due to multiple singles released from the group's "MADE" album project series.

"Bang Bang Bang" originally debuted on the chart in the number one spot in June. Its return to one of the top spots on the chart several months laters highlights the group's popularity both in South Korea and abroad.

During the week of Oct. 17, Israel Kamakawiwo'Ole's "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" took the number one spot while Kuana Torres Kahele & Napua Greig's "Lava" from the Disney short came in second place on the World Digital Songs chart. 

Along with doing well internationally, "Bang Bang Bang" has had stellar standing on Korean music charts. As of Oct. 7, "Bang Bang Bang" was still in the top thirty on Korea's Gaon chart, along with several other "MADE" songs.

BIGBANG's North American Tour has received glowing coverage from outlets including the New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, Fuse, and more.

BIGBANG's held shows last weekend in California and are currently in Mexico. They will hold two shows at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on Saturday and Sunday and then will head to Toronto, Ontario on Tuesday.
