[Exclusive]After Hearing They Topped Charts for 3 Consecutive Months, BIGBANG Says “just focused on making our own music”(Interview)

[????=??? ??] BIGBANG (G-DRAGON, T.O.P, TAEYANG, DAESUNG, and SEUNGRI) expressed how they feel after hearing that they took the No.1 spot on an official music chart for three months in a row.

At an interview with Starnews before the shoot for SBS’s Inkigayo in the afternoon of August 6, BIGBANG told how they felt about topping Gaon’s monthly digital chart for three consecutive months.

BIGBANG ranked first on Gaon’s monthly digital chart in May with “LOSER” of their “M” album, in June with “BANG BANG BANG” of their “A” album, and in July with “IF YOU” of their “D” album.

Hearing the news, BIGBANG said, “This is something that is totally unexpected.” They went on to say, “The first and second singles came out as almost we expected, but we had a slight change of plans for the third single.”

The members added, “We kicked off to a good start, and that’s was probably the main reason why our fans anticipated our next singles.” They also said, “All the singles had different colors and that’s mostly why they were all able to top the charts. We thank all those who listened to our music.”

BIGBANG also commented, “We focused on making our own music, the best of our music.” The members raised expectations for the next album by saying “Our “MADE” album, which will come out in September, will also be great.”

Meanwhile, BIGBANG released their “E” album – the fourth singles album of their MADE series- at 12 AM (KST) of August 5. The tracks of the album, “LET’S NOT FALL IN LOVE” and GD& T.O.P’s “ZUTTER” are sweeping the charts yet again.

[????=??? ??] “IF YOU”, BIGBANG’s new song for July took the No.1 on Gaon’s monthly digital chart for July this year.

According to Korea’s public music chart Gaon on August 6, BIGBANG’s “IF YOU” took the No.1 on Gaon’s monthly digital chart for July this year.

Hyuk Oh’s “Wari Gari” and “Weeing Weeing” took the second and third place, respectively. BIGBANG’s “SOBER” took the fourth place on the chart, with SISTAR’s “SHAKE IT” in the fifth, Girls’ Generation’s “PARTY” in the sixth, AOA’s “Heart Attack” in the seventh, and Girl’s Day’s “Ring My Bell” in the eighth place.

Hyuk Oh’s “Wari Gari” topped the monthly download chart for July and SISTAR’s “SHAKE IT” took the No.1 on streaming chart.

TVXQ’s “RISE AS GOD – TVXQ! SPECIAL ALBUM” topped the monthly album chart for July (148,155 of sales).

Meanwhile, Hyuk Oh’s “Weeing Weeing” took the No.1 on Gaon’s weekly digital chart and streaming chart for the 32nd week this year (July 26 – August 1), taking double crown. 

BEAST’s “YeY” that topped the download chart also took the No.1 on Gaon’s social chart. BEAST’s album “Ordinary” also topped Gaon’s album chart.

On Gaon-Weibo chart that is the benchmark for K-pop stars’ global popularity, CNBLUE’s Jung Yong-Hwa and Infinite took the No.1 on individual artist’s popularity section and group’s popularity section, respectively.
