Gaon Chart has revealed its chart rankings for the week of May 15 to 21!

Album Chart

ASTRO achieved a double crown this week after topping both the physical album chart and the digital download chart with their latest album and its title track.

The group’s new album “Drive to the Starry Road” debuted at No. 1 on this week’s physical album chart, while ONEUS’s new mini album “TRICKSTER” entered the chart at No. 2.

TXT’s latest mini album “minisode 2: Thursday’s Child” stayed strong at No. 3, followed by AB6IX’s new EP “A to B” at No. 4.

Finally, Red Velvet’s 2019 repackaged album “The ReVe Festival: Finale” re-entered the chart at No. 5 this week.

ASTRO’s new title track “Candy Sugar Pop” topped this week’s digital download chart, followed by Lim Young Woong’s “If We Ever Meet Again” at No. 2.

AB6IX’s new title track “SAVIOR” debuted at No. 3, with PSY and BTSSuga’s hit collab “That That” holding relatively steady at No. 4.

Finally, ONEUS’s new title track “Bring it on” entered the chart at No. 5.

Overall Digital Chart + Streaming Chart

The top five songs on this week’s overall digital chart and streaming chart were exactly the same.

PSY and Suga maintained their double crown on this week’s charts, topping both the overall digital chart and the streaming chart with “That That” for the second consecutive week.

IVE’s “LOVE DIVE” rose to No. 2 on both charts, followed by (G)I-DLE’s “TOMBOY” at No. 3, BIGBANG’s “Still Life” at No. 4, and MeloMance’s “Love, Maybe” (from the OST of “A Business Proposal”) at No. 5.

Social Chart

The top five artists on this week’s social chart remained exactly the same as last week: BTS continued their reign at No. 1, with BLACKPINK at No. 2, BLACKPINK’s Lisa at No. 3, Jessi at No. 4, and Lim Young Woong at No. 5.

[OSEN=지민경 기자] YG mega rookie TREASURE covered BIGBANG’s ‘Still Life’ with their own interpretations, once again showing their endless musical spectrum.

YG Entertainment released TREASURE’s cover of BIGBANG’s ‘Still Life’ on the 21st on their official blog. Out of the 12 members JIHOON, PARK JEONG WOO, CHOI HYUN SUK, YOSHI, and HARUTO created their own version of ‘Still Life’. Their voices created perfect harmony, suited for the Z generation.

JIHOON took charge of TAEYANG’s part, stealing the attention from the get go with his soft vocals. His detailed sweet voice and clear way of singing presented a different vibe to TAEYANG’s rich R&B vocals, and PARK JEONG WOO who has similar husky vocals, sang DAESUNG’s part, lifting up the atmosphere of the song.

G-DRAGON’s part was done together by YOSHI and CHOI HYUN SUK. YOSHI pulled off the slow yet rhythmical melody rap, adding sentimental elements to the song, and CHOI HYUN SUK took over the lyrical yet intense punch line, adding even more charms to ‘Still Life’.

Global fans’ emotions exploded with HARUTO’s husky yet strong rap. His tone resembled T.O.P’s voice before debut, and his next-level visuals put viewers in shock. He perfectly pulled off the song as if it was his own song, along with showing his own way of interpretation.

TREASURE members said “It’s such an honor to have the chance to cover their song. We had mixed emotions just by listening to it, but it felt even different singing it. We felt very emotional the whole time we sang it. We sang it in a genuine way because we could really relate to the lyrics”.

Fans showed enthusiastic responses to their genuine cover. Reviews by fans from all around the world poured in, such as “The growth of these boys are making me emotional”, “It’s just not a cover, it’s the birth of TREASURE’s own ‘Still Life’”, “Same lyrics, different sensations”, “Collaboration that surpasses generation! We want a relay”, in their own language.

Meanwhile, BIGBANG’s ‘Still Life’ is a song that portrays the past worries and concerns of their past, and how they’re living their today, along with how they ir tomorrows. The beautiful melody and metaphorical lyrics, and their genuine story telling looked everyone look back on their past, and swept all music charts home and abroad after release.

The Korean Business Research Institute has revealed this month’s brand reputation rankings for singers!

The rankings were determined through an analysis of singers’ media coverage, consumer participation, interaction, and community awareness indexes, using big data collected from April 21 to May 21.

Lim Young Woong topped this month’s list with a brand reputation index of 11,925,044, marking a 46.12 percent increase in his score since April.

BTS came in at a close second with a brand reputation index of 11,418,407, marking a 4.79 percent rise in their score since last month.

Meanwhile, PSY entered the rankings at third place with a brand reputation index of 10,749,221.

IU rose to fourth place after seeing a 40.89 percent increase in her brand reputation index since April, bringing her total score for May to 5,509,352.

Finally, BLACKPINK rounded out the top five with a brand reputation index of 4,373,330, marking a 97.89 percent increase in their score since April.
