Why did Taeyang write a handwritten letter to T.O.P?

On the December 28 airing of ‘Radio Star,’ T.O.P revealed that Taeyang sent him a letter. Taeyang explained, “T.O.P was going away to Germany for 2 months and he was having a lot of difficulties because he also had to prepare for a BIGBANG concert. I wanted to encourage him, so I wrote him a letter.” 

In the letter that was revealed, Taeyang writes to T.O.P, “To Seunghyun hyung, I will be praying that you go to Germany to film and get back safely. I will miss you a lot for 2 months while you’re gone. These days, you look more tired and lonely, so I am always worried about you. Cheer up, hyung! Every night, I pray for your soul and for you to one day realize God’s love that the Bible talks about. Have a good trip. Hyung, I love you!” 
T.O.P revealed that he was really touched by the letter, especially by the part that read, ‘I love you,’ since guys do not really say that to one another. 
Taeyang also shared that he frequently writes handwritten notes to his girlfriend, Min Hyo Rin. He explained,”Sometimes I mail it, sometimes I give it myself with flowers.”

BIGBANG’s T.O.P revealed how many people he’s dated! 
On December 28 airing of MBC’s ‘Radio Star,’ T.O.P discussed his love life in detail. He said, “I’ve dated two and had a ‘some’ with one person.” 
T.O.P explained, “Since I was 19, I’ve dated exactly three people. Nobody knows the one I had a ‘some’ with. Right now, I am single.” 

He also revealed that he only dates women who don’t drink by saying, “I like to drink, but I like women who don’t drink. But they cannot stand me.” 
T.O.P stated, “I once dated a girl who loves to drink. We dated for 3-4 years, but I had no memories with her. Because of alcohol, we always blacked out. Since that, I try to date girls who don’t drink. But when I drink, I turn off my phone.” 
He also said, “When I date, I don’t want to get close to the other person. When I look back, I like the moments when we were not close. I like her to be always be there for me. Taeyang shared a story of T.O.P making a sudden decision to marry someone in New York! 
On the December 28 installment of ‘Radio Star,’ Taeyang told a story of T.O.P introducing someone he claimed he would marry. Taeyang said, “4 years ago when we performed in New York, we were really excited and in a good mood because we had a successful concert.” 
He continued, “We all went out a lot with members and staffs, and one day, T.O.P was sitting with this woman we didn’t know. I asked, ‘Hyung, who is this?’ And T.O.P replied, ‘It’s someone I’m going to marry!” 
Taeyang explained that the members were shocked by the news but accepted it seriously since T.O.P wouldn’t joke about something like that. 
However, T.O.P explained, “She had left a note saying, ‘I’ve been a fan for a long time,’ and because I was going through a bit of depression during that time, I just felt like I wanted to lean on someone. It felt like fate. So I also left a note and asked to meet.” 
When the MCs asked if he actually asked her to marry him, T.O.P said, “No. I just concluded it on my own…” And when the MCs asked if they ever met again, the rapper responded, “No, because I didn’t know her phone number…”
