bigbang_sober.jpgBIGBANG continues to reign online charts with their latest double title tracks from their 3rd project single [M], “If You” and “Sober.”

On July 2nd at 2:30pm KST, iChart crowned BIGBANG’s “If You” with another all-kill as it ranked #1 on nine music charts for a total of 16 music charts (adding real-time and daily charts), including MelOn, Mnet, Bugs, Olleh Music, Soribada, Genie, Naver Music, and monkey 3.

They continued to hold their all-kill at 3:30pm KST, crowned once again for the same title track.

Following is their second title track “Sober” in #2 across the same charts save monkey3’s real-time chart in which they are #3 with SISTAR following closely behind in #3 across all charts save monkey3’s real-time chart in which they are #2.

BIGBANG Tops Domestic Music Charts With “If You” and “Sober”

BIGBANG has dominated the music charts once again with their new songs “If You” and “Sober.”

When YG Entertainment released the “MADE Series-D” on July 1, “If You” claimed the number one spot on eight different music charts including Melon, Mnet, and Genie as soon as it was released.

“Sober” ranked right below in second place in those eight charts and BIGBANG proved their popularity yet again, not to mention that their “MADE Series-M” and “MADE Series-A” albums in May and June dominated music charts as well.

“MADE Series-D” is also hugely popular overseas. This album swept the iTunes charts of 16 different countries including Hong Kong, Norway, Peru, and Thailand.

It is currently ranked fourth and 22nd place in the U.S. and the U.K. respectively.

G-Dragon shares the story behind the production and selection of BIGBANG’s ballad and hit track, “If You.” 

  
Appearing on Naver Starcast on June 30th, G-Dragon revealed that he collaborated with PK and Dee.P for “If You,” the artists responsible for BIGBANG’s “Monster” and Taeyang’s “Eyes, Nose and Lips” respectively.

According to G-Dragon, “If You” is the type of song choice that the group hasn’t tried before and during the selection process, everyone of their staff over thirty years old preferred it. Furthermore, he explained that despite the track being a sad, ballad genre, the members were able to sing it without technique, only relying on the lyrics.

“If You” is also the first track that all members singing including rappers G-Dragon and T.O.P.

When asked by Seungri, G-Dragon then explained that the track is meaningful to him because he wrote it when was in love.

Meanwhile, aside from promoting their latest single [D], BIGBANG is also continuing their tour across Asia.
