Circle Chart (formerly known as Gaon Chart) has announced its latest batch of official certifications!
In 2018, the Korea Music Content Industry Association implemented a new certification system for album sales, song downloads, and online streaming. Starting with music released on or after January 1, 2018, Circle Chart now certifies albums platinum once they reach 250,000 sales, while albums that have sold a million copies or more receive a “million” certification.
This month, SEVENTEEN received a triple million certification for selling over 3 million copies of their 2021 mini album “Attacca,” along with a double million certification for selling over 2 million copies of their latest album “HAPPY BURSTDAY.”
RIIZE earned two separate certifications for their first full-length album “ODYSSEY”: the regular version of the album received a million certification for over 1 million copies sold, while the SMC version was certified platinum for 250,000 copies sold.
BOYNEXTDOOR also received an official million certification for selling over 1 million copies of their latest mini album “No Genre.”
Meanwhile, i-dle’s latest mini album “We are” was certified triple platinum for over 750,000 copies sold since its release.
EXO’s Baekhyun’s “Essence of Reverie,” BTS’s Jin’s “Echo,” and the Nemo version of BIGBANG’s G-Dragon’s “Übermensch” were all certified double platinum after selling over 500,000 copies each.
Finally, KickFlip’s “Kick Out, Flip Now!”, tripleS’s “ASSEMBLE25” (Cosmo), and P1Harmony’s “DUH!” were all certified platinum for selling over 250,000 copies each.
Over in the streaming category, Maktub’s 2019 hit “To You My Light” (featuring Lee Raon) was certified triple platinum after surpassing 300 million streams.
Finally, Sondia’s “Grown Ups” (from the soundtrack of the 2018 drama “My Mister”), IU’s “Love wins all,” Nerd Connection’s “If I have you only,” STAYC’s “ASAP,” and Red Velvet’s Joy’s “Introduce me a good person” (from the 2020 drama “Hospital Playlist”) were all certified platinum for reaching 100 million streams each.
