The Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) has announced its latest batch of official certifications!
In 2020, the RIAJ implemented a new certification system for online streaming of songs, as an addition to its pre-existing certification systems for physical album shipments and digital download sales. According to the new system, songs are certified silver once they reach 30 million streams, gold at 50 million streams, and platinum at 100 million streams.
NewJeans earned two official certifications this month: their 2023 hit โOMGโ was certified double platinum after surpassing 200 million streams in Japan, while their debut track โAttentionโ was certified platinum for surpassing 100 million streams.

BTSโs Jungkookโs solo debut track โSevenโ (featuring Latto) was also certified platinum after reaching 100 million streams in Japan.

BTS also earned two official gold certifications as a group for their B-sides โDimpleโ and โDionysus,โ both of which surpassed 50 million streams in Japan.

Other songs to be certified gold this month included aespaโs โGirls,โ the Japanese version of BIGBANGโs G-Dragonโs solo hit โCrooked,โ and LE SSERAFIMโs โEASY.โ

Meanwhile, both IVEโs Japanese EP โALIVEโ and TREASUREโs Japanese single โKING KONG / REVERSEโ were certified gold for over 100,000 physical units shipped in Japan each.
