Taeyang wrapped up his 2014 solo concert “RISE” on October 12th.
The concert, as expected, was immensely successful; in fact, it originally sold out in under 5 minutes, causing the singer to add an additional day to the concert to the delight of his fans, making the concert a 3-day affair. The concert was held at the Olympic Hall, Olympic Park, Seoul. In addition to his normal set list, the October 12th performance also featured Taeyang’s fellow BIGBANG member G-Dragon, who performed “Stay With Me” with Taeyang, as well as his own solo song “Crooked”.
Taeyang’s new solo album has been successful in other areas as well. The title song, “Eyes, Nose, Lips” was South Korea’s #1 karaoke song for multiple weeks in a row, and was also a favorite among YouTube song covers.
There’s no doubting the success and popularity of Taeyang’s solo career (even stars like Ailee fangirl over him!), but the question remains as to when his group, BIGBANG, will have their comeback. VIPs and casual fans alike have been waiting, so hopefully YG will announce their comeback soon!
In related news, earlier YG had stated that they will make an official statement regarding G-Dragon’s relationship after Taeyang’s concert. Now that it’s over, will that statement be released soon?
