The Korean Business Research Institute has revealed this month’s brand reputation rankings for individual boy group members!

The rankings were determined through an analysis of the consumer participation, media coverage, communication, and community awareness indexes of 703 boy group members, using big data collected from December 14, 2022 to January 14, 2023.

BTS’s Jimin rose to the top of the list this month with a brand reputation index of 5,713,172. High-ranking phrases in his keyword analysis included “With You,” “Taeyang,” and “VIBE,” while his highest-ranking related terms included “collaborate,” “compose,” and “release.” Jimin’s positivity-negativity analysis also revealed a score of 86.64 percent positive reactions.

ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo came in at a close second with a brand reputation index of 5,643,772, marking a 5.99 percent increase in his score since December.

BTS’s Jungkook took third place in the rankings with a brand reputation of 4,804,755, while Wanna One’s Kang Daniel and Park Ji Hoon rounded out the top five at fourth and fifth places respectively.

Taeyang has made his long-awaited return as a solo artist!

On January 13 at 2 p.m. KST, the BIGBANG member released his new single “VIBE” featuring BTS’s Jimin.

“VIBE” was composed by TEDDY, KUSH, Vince, Taeyang, Jimin, and 24, while the lyrics were written by Taeyang and Vince. The song expresses the strange emotions felt within the “vibe” of a relationship.

Shinsegae Group has denied rumors that BIGBANG’s G-Dragon is dating the granddaughter of chairwoman Lee Myung Hee.

On January 9, a Chinese media outlet reported that G-Dragon was romantically involved with Lee Myung Hee’s granddaughter and that they had gone to see a concert together.

The following day, Shinsegae Group officially responded by firmly denying that there was any sort of romantic relationship between G-Dragon and the chaebol heiress.

Describing the report as “clear misinformation,” a spokesperson for the conglomerate stated, “It is completely untrue. Because there continue to be groundless speculative reports based on unconfirmed facts, we have decided to make an official statement in order to clarify these falsehoods.”

“After checking with [Lee Myung Hee’s granddaughter] herself, she went to concert with a group of people, and she simply posted a photo she took [with G-Dragon] because she is a fan,” they continued. “We ask that you refrain from publishing any more groundless speculation [regarding this matter].”
