G-DRAGON has recently been spotted coming in and out of YG Entertainment’s new headquarters, YGX, and The Black Label, raising the fans’ anticipation on his upcoming project. It shows that he is focused on completing his new album, and that his comeback is not far ahead.

G-DRAGON’s comeback news took over not only Korea, but the entire Asia continent. After the news was reported, G-DRAGON’s name was listed on the top ranks of real-time searched keywords of major portal websites, as well as heating up online communities and social media platforms with excitement.

Since G-DRAGON is immensely popular in China, as he has been recently selected as the brand model for a local Chinese beverage company, Chinese media and online users also responded with passion. I write what I experience at the time. If I didn’t, I probably forgot it all. I was too busy. I listen to them after some time and sometimes reminisce, ‘Oh, I was like that’ and sometimes realize, ‘I’ve changed from that time’. Sometimes, I go through the same situation”.

[Article] [YG Life] G-DRAGON Preparing for Solo Comeback… Working on New Songs

[뉴시스=이재훈 기자] Leader G-DRAGON of BIGBANG, the group of the Korean wave, has begun preparing for his comeback in approximately a year since he was discharged from the army last year on October.

According to K-Pop sources on November 2, G-DRAGON is currently working on new songs that will be listed on his upcoming album. The last album G-DRAGON released as a solo artist was ‘Kwon Jiyong’, released back in June 2017. The final song he released with the other members of BIGBANG was ‘Flower Road’, released back in March 2018.

After making debut in 2006, BIGBANG released numerous hits including ‘Lies’ and ‘Last Goodbye’. BIGBANG is one of the groups that represent the K-Pop wave. Four members including G-DRAGON, TAEYANG, T.O.P, and DAESUNG had their third contract renewal with YG Entertainment on March.

BIGBANG was scheduled to make comeback on April through the ‘Coachella Music and Arts Festival’, which is a major music and arts festival in the US. However, due to the situation regarding COVID19, the festival was postponed to October and got cancelled, affecting BIGBANG’s comeback schedule.

In the meantime, G-DRAGON proved his firm status as a Korean wave star by being selected as an advertisement model for a local Chinese brand. It is unprecedented for a local Chinese brand to cast and promote a Korean celebrity as a local brand model since the local laws restricted Korean culture imports back in 2016.

The global social media is full of excitement after news regarding G-DRAGON’s comeback has been announced.

BIGBANG’s G-Dragon graced the November issue of Vogue Korea!

His elegance shone through the pictorial, in which he wore Chanel’s fall collection featuring Chanel’s signature pearls, 2.55 hand bag, and quilting. The photo shoot took place at an old recording studio in the Yongsan District.

The feature not only highlighted his ability to pull off various outfits, but also his thoughts on two of his well known traits – his style and songs. When talking about the concept of the photoshoot, G-Dragon explained that he “didn’t mean to break people’s stereotypes about Chanel as a brand.” He added, “When I style my jeans with Chanel’s tweed jacket or jewelry, it’s a playful combination. I like how I can look well-dressed but carefree at the same time.”

In an interview, he also briefly expressed his current views on music. Referring to the numerous songs he wrote in his twenties, he described, “They are like a diary because I tend to write about my personal experiences. If I hadn’t written about them, I’d have forgotten everything because I’ve been so busy. When I listen to my songs at a later time, I think to myself, ‘Ah, that was then.’ Or, I realize how my thoughts and perspective have changed over time. I also sometimes go through similar ordeals again.”

Here are more of the photos from Vogue Korea’s feature with G-Dragon:

Magazine VOGUE Korea uploaded pictorial photos of G-DRAGON along with the caption, “G-DRAGON appeared on VOGUE Korea’s cover in 4 years. The pictorial and video will soon be revealed as well”, on the 15th through their official social media account.

The three covers showed G-DRAGON’s various looks. It was as if they represented G-DRAGON’s different egos.

The cover photos had ‘G-DRAGON’, ‘GD’, and ‘Kwon Jiyong’ written on them in Korean, which gathered the people’s attention. G-DRAGON’s looks changed depending on the name along with the mood of the photo, and the font.

The cover that had ‘Kwon Jiyong’ written on it showed Kwon Jiyong as himself. The ‘GD’ cover showed GD in the fashion industry, while the ‘G-DRAGON’ cover looked to express G-DRAGON on stage as an artist.

Furthermore, rather than using a glamorous background set, the pictorial only utilized recording mics and equipment so that the viewers can focus on G-DRAGON. Seungri Attends 2nd Hearing For 8 Charges

Oct 14, 2020

On October 14, Seungri’s second hearing was held at the Ground Operations Command’s general military court in Yongin.

Among the 22 witnesses called to testify were Jung Joon Young and former Yuri Holdings CEO Yoo In Suk.

Seungri has been indicted on eight charges including purchase of prostitution services, prostitution mediation, embezzlement, violation of the Act on the Aggravated Punishment, etc. of Specific Economic Crimes (an additional charge for embezzlement of a sum exceeding a certain number), violation of the Food Sanitation Act, habitual gambling, violation of the Foreign Exchange Transactions Act, and violation of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment, etc. of Sexual Crimes.

As he did in his first hearing, Seungri admitted to only one charge — the violation of the Foreign Exchange Transactions Act.

Yoo In Suk had previously pleaded guilty to his charges including prostitution mediation, and Seungri’s side denied allegations that Seungri was involved in purchasing prostitution services, stating that he could not remember.

Regarding allegations that Seungri received and distributed photos that were taken illegally to group chats, Seungri’s side stated, “He received them through the WeChat app from an employee at a Singaporean adult entertainment establishment.”

During the first hearing, Seungri’s representative had also claimed that Seungri had only shared the photos that was sent to him to promote the establishment and that Seungri hadn’t taken the photos himself. However, Seungri did admit to sharing photos in a group chatroom.

While Seungri acknowledged that he had gambled, he denied that it was habitual and only admitted to his violation of the Foreign Exchange Transactions Act. Seungri’s legal representative had stated during the first hearing that Seungri was reflecting on his wrongdoing.

On Seungri’s alleged violation of the Food Sanitation Act, Seungri’s side claimed that Seungri received a report from a manager that the violation was corrected.

He was also indicted on charges for embezzlement, and Seungri’s side stated that the expenses were for the benefit of Yuri Holdings and that his payments were legitimate according to the Act on the Aggravated Punishment, etc. of Specific Economic Crimes.

The same day, the court cleared the date of questioning for the 22 witnesses. Seungri’s trial will be divided into three parts, the first part dealing with his charges for purchasing prostitution services and prostitution mediation. The court summoned nine witnesses regarding prostitution charges, which includes Jung Joon Young and Yoo In Suk.

Due to the large number of charges and witnesses, the questioning of witnesses is expected to run until December 17.
