BIGBANG leader G-Dragon rubbed elbows again with fashion royalty by attending a local launch event in Seoul alongside Vogue International Editor Suzy Menkes.

The esteemed British fashion critic flew in to South Korea for the first time ever as part of her look into the thriving fashion scene in Seoul.

During her stay, Menkes was invited along with G-Dragon to the launching of local South Korean brand at the hip Boontheshop store.

In one photo uploaded by Menkes, she posed for the cameras with G-Dragon as well as South Korean designer 99percentis.

Menkes showed fascination in G-Dragon and his unique fashion style.

In one of her Instagram posts, Menkes asked: "G-Dragon displaying the jacket worked on by 99percentis. Who can tell me what it says?"

Fans were thrilled at G-Dragon's increasing clout among global fashion icons. Recently, he also grabbed headlines with his high-profile appearance as a muse at the latest Chanel couture show in Paris, France.

But concerned fans also commented on how frazzled the idol look in some photos, especially given the group's non-stop comeback promotions in recent months.

"You look so tired, please take breaks," "As always you look hella different without the eyelinerand idol make-up. But it's okay, you actually look quite lovable like this," said G-Dragon's followers on Instagram.

After his fashion appearance duties, G-Dragon and the rest of BIGBANG will be traveling to Malaysia this weekend to perform in a majestic concert stage - said to be one of the costliest ever produced in the Southeast Asian country - for the boy group's MADE World Tour.

Most Viewed K-Pop Videos in America & Around the World: June 2015
It was a close YouTube battle of two of the largest international K-pop acts when BIGBANG and EXO released new music videos within hours of each other last month. But in the end, the YG Entertainment quintet snagged the most views on YouTube for June 2015.

"Bang Bang Bang" dropped on June 1 and wound up the most-viewed K-pop video both in America and around the world for the month, beating out EXO's "Love Me Right" (released June 2, and is at No. 2 on both rankings) along with BIGBANG's own "We Like 2 Party" vid (released on June 4, and is at No. 3 on both lists). BIGBANG topping both lists means SM Entertainment ends its remarkable, five-month streak at No. 1 atop the U.S.-focused chart provided by YouTube each month.

Girl groups AOA and Sistar's new videos dropped on the same day, but AOA wound up outcharting Sistar both on the Stateside and the international list.

Check out June 2015's list, according to YouTube, below with a playlist that you can click through to watch each video only on Billboard:

BigBang's Seungri shows off his Mandarin at concert [+ 12 photos]

bigbang_03_1.jpg

SINGAPORE - The Speak Mandarin Campaign can consider hiring Seungri of K-pop boyband BigBang as their new ambassador.
The South Korean lad declared he was picking up the foreign language on Saturday night - in Mandarin no less.

"Do you understand me? Is my Mandarin good?" asked Seungri, 24. Cue screams from fan girls.

He rattled off crowd-pleasing Mandarin phrases, and unabashedly engaged the crowd in the language throughout the three hour concert.

"I think the girls in Singapore are the prettiest! Am I right? T.O.P, am I right? Taeyang, am I right? GD (G-Dragon), am I right? Daesung, am I right?" said Seungri, the team's youngest member, as he addressed his fellow members.

South Korean pop royalty BigBang are back with, well, a bang. They staged a two-night extravaganza - on Saturday and Sunday - at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. All tickets for both nights have been snapped up. Disappointed fans were spotted trying to get tickets at the last minute, but to no avail.

This is the quintet's highly anticipated comeback since their last album Alive, and last world tour Alive Galaxy Tour in 2012. Their current world tour coincides with the upcoming release of their new album, Made.

In a savvy marketing move to drum up publicity, BigBang has been releasing new singles monthly in the lead up to their studio album launch in September.

At the concert, they performed old hits such as Fantastic Baby and Lies. They also took the chance to plug new songs. They opened the concert with the catchy dance tune Bang Bang Bang, and sang the song again during the encore segment.

Taeyang, 27, said in crisp American-accented English: "We have an album coming out this year. So, please be excited."

Excellent sales pitch at the concert. Fans, are you sold?

Partying like there's no tomorrow

st_20150720_gnbig_1524241.jpg
BigBang rocked fans with solid vocals and off-the-wall humour

South Korean pop royalty BigBang are back with, well, a bang.

The boyband repeated their feat of selling out two nights of concerts last Saturday and yesterday at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, which translated into a 10,000-strong audience each night.

This is the quintet's highly anticipated comeback since their last album Alive and last world tour, Alive Galaxy Tour, in 2012. Back then, BigBang also sold out two nights' worth of concert tickets at their Singapore stop.

After tickets were all snapped up, concert organisers released extra tickets for sale last week. These seats were called "audio seats" because they came with an obstructed view of the main stage.

Eager fans still lapped up the tickets. Why? Because it's better than listening to their music on a CD or watching their concert clips online.

Nothing beats being present in the same space to experience BigBang's explosive live performance, complete with laughs at the band's off-the-wall humour. Plus, fans would be breathing in the same air as their idols.

The BigBang lads partied on stage like there was no tomorrow in a three-hour show that was replete with bursts of confetti, fire plumes and pyrotechnics, and fancy props such as a huge Greek-style angel sculpture.

The seasoned showmen busted out choreographed dance moves with ease, mixing them up with freestyle grooves. Their solid vocals powered them through emotive ballads, high-octane dance tunes and fiery rapping.

Their current world tour coincides with the upcoming release of their new album Made. In a savvy move to drum up publicity, BigBang have been releasing new singles monthly in the lead up to their studio album launch in September.

BigBang took the chance to plug new songs. They opened the concert with the catchy dance tune Bang Bang Bang and sang the song again during the encore segment. They also performed the sultry tune Bae Bae twice.

Still, it has been hard to wean myself off older earworms such as Fantastic Baby and Lies, which were performed at the concert, and I wished the setlist included more of their earlier songs. I miss songs such as playful track Don't Go Home by rappers G-Dragon and T.O.P.

The BigBang boys may be all suave when performing, but they are actually a comical bunch.

The statuesque T.O.P paraded around in a random outfit combination of a cowboy hat, a chunky metal chain and a bathrobe. Did I mention he was wielding a walking stick too?

The self-deprecating vocalist Daesung poked fun at his own hairdo - fringe so long that it covered his eyes.

"I can't see. I can only hear you," said the 26-year-old, who proceeded to flick his hair so fans could catch a glimpse of his eyes.

"Your eyes are so small," teased Seungri in Mandarin.

The Speak Mandarin Campaign can consider hiring him as its new ambassador.

The South Korean lad declared he was picking up the language last Saturday night - and in Mandarin, no less.

"Do you understand me? Is my Mandarin good?" asked Seungri, 24. Cue screams from fan girls.

He rattled off crowd-pleasing Mandarin phrases and unabashedly engaged the crowd in the language.

"I think the girls in Singapore are the prettiest! Am I right? T.O.P, am I right? Taeyang, am I right? GD (G-Dragon), am I right? Daesung, am I right?" he said as he addressed his fellow band members.

Teacher Taeyang took the time to educate fans about the Korean word chapssalddeok that is repeated in the new song Bae Bae.

Chapssalddeok is a Korean sticky rice cake similar to Japanese mochi. But it is also a Korean slang that means "we are perfect for each other", says Taeyang, 27.

My Korean friend explained that the term is a reference to the stickiness of the glutinous rice snack. You are such a fit with your soulmate that you stick together like sticky rice cake.

Of course, the rice cake lesson culminated in honeyed words. Taeyang gushed: "Singapore VIPs and BigBang are perfect for each other."

Is it any wonder that fans keep coming back for more of BigBang?

Kwanghee complains all G-Dragon responds with are emoticons

Kwanghee complained about G-Dragon's way of responding!

During the 18th's episode of 'Infinity Challenge', G-Dragon and Taeyang met up with Kwanghee. When they met, G-Dragon said, "Should we talk comfortably? since we're the same age," and Kwanghee responded excitedly, "Is it okay if we get comfortable?"

When G-Dragon then said, "We should be comfortable," Kwanghee responded, "If we're friends, why did you respond that way?" G-Dragon was confused by this and responded, "But I even used an emoticon?" Kwanghee replied back, "You only used an emoticon. Taeyang's response was pretty long, but I sent a long text to GD and all you sent back was a peace sign emoticon. I thought about it for a while and I wanted to look strong so I sent back a thumbs up? But the 1 just immediately disappeared." G-Dragon laughed and responded, "My personality is just like that."

Kwanghee then added, "If I call you after recording and you don't pick up, I'm going to be sad," to which G-Dragon replied, "I might be busy." Kwanghee shot right back, "Don't avoid it. Taeyang gave me a call." Taeyang corrected, "You mean you called me. I got the call when I was in China. The quality wasn't that good, right?"

BIGBANG’s G-Dragon Boasts About Seungri’s Singing Skills on “Infinity Challenge”

On this week’s episode of “Infinity Challenge,” Kwanghee heads to karaoke with his music festival dream team members BIGBANG‘s G-Dragon and Taeyang.

G-Dragon and Taeyang take him there both because they want to see how well he can sing, and also so they can bond as a team. The trio sing BIGBANG’s “Fantastic Baby” at Kwanghee’s insistence, but G-Dragon hits the cancel button before it finishes. Kwanghee gets upset and asks him why he turned it off. “I saw enough,” replies G-Dragon, smiling. “I saw you do it, you’re not too bad!”

Kwanghee grins and says, “I’m great at Seungri’s part!” G-Dragon bursts out laughing and can’t even look at Kwanghee.

infinitychallenge4

“Seungri is a good singer,” he says to Kwanghee. This totally shocks Kwanghee, who starts to whine, but G-Dragon insists, “Our Seungri is a seriously good singer.”

“How could you call him ‘our Seungri’, how could you do that to me?!” replies Kwanghee jealously. “You said we were friends!”

infinitychallenge2

“Our Kwanghee is a good singer too,” concedes G-Dragon. “But our Seungri is also a good singer.”

Kwanghee then reveals that he practiced singing by shadowing Seungri’s parts in BIGBANG songs, and he gives them a bit of a taste of his imitation. “Oh, it’s similar…” says G-Dragon, but when Kwanghee presses him to admit that he sounds like Seungri, G-Dragon just repeats, “Our Seungri is a good singer.”
