G-Dragon, member of the famous BIGBANG Band is set to do the cover project of Winner album’s track “Baby Baby”.  He is the fifth to do Winner’s cover song. G-Dragon, is BIGBANG’s leader has already done various cover songs for different artists since he started his career. His collaboration work will be used by YG Entertainment to promote the soon to be released track. Others who participated are co-band members of G-Dragon himself – Lee Hi , Taeyang , Zion T and Dean.

Many will become curious about this as written in AskKPop because this is the first time G-Dragon will do a cover for a fellow artist. This big hearted artist said in YG United  that he agreed to share his talent  in this project because he thinks highly of WINNER members who are his colleagues.

He further stressed that in the music industry, where a wide variety of collaboration are taking place, the artists are able to stable and close relationship among singers under YG Entertainment through their generous support for each other. The YG Entertainment management has made a wise decision to utilize G-Dragon’s talent.

Their two tracks  written by Nam Taehyun  is in their comeback album. The South Korean idol group formed in 2014 through YG Entertainment is composed of Kang Seung-yoon, Song Mino, Nam Tae hyun, Kim Jinwoo, and Lee Seunghoon. Meanwhile, WINNER will grace the music scene through their mini album ‘Exit Movement: E. AskKPop  mentioned February 1 is the date to watch out. G-Dragon’s cover song with WINNER is also being slated to attract patrons.

[OSEN=??? ??] BIGBANG’s G-DRAGON did a cover of WINNER’s new single.

On January 24, a staff member of YG Entertainment told OSEN that G-DRAGON is the fifth artist to cover the title track of WINNER’s new album. It’s the first time that G-DRAGON – BIGBANG’s leader/fashionista – covered a song of another artist, and so, it is expected to create a big sensation.

The cover relay project is a pre-release promotion campaign for WINNER’s new album headed by YG’s CEO YANG HYUN SUK. The first two artists that covered the song were LEE HI and TAEYANG. They were followed by non-YG artists Zion.T and Dean.

Korea’s top R&B vocalists have participated in this cover relay project, and the fact that G-DRAGON is next up on the line is drawing great attention to the project.



G-DRAGON volunteered to cover WINNER’s new song since he cares about his lablemate WINNER a lot. G-DRAGON even appeared on the shows “WIN” and “WINNER TV”. Of course, the rising number of collaborations must have played a part on the new project. In any case, YG artists are known to be close and always give full support to their labelmates.

So fat, top R&B vocalists covered WINNER’s new single. It will be interesting to see G-DRAGON’s cover as he is a rapper not a vocalist.

According to YG Entertainment (“YG”)’s insiders on the 26 this month, G-DRAGON’s cover song of WINNER’s “SENTIMENTAL” will be unveiled on the 27. G-DRAGON is the third YG artist to cover for WINNER’s new song “SENTIMENTAL”, following AKMU and Katie Kim.

“SENTIMENTAL” is a sentimental minor pop song, in which WINNER members’ tender voices stand out. The song was directly produced by member NAM TAEHYUN. He expressed the sentimental emotions in witty lyrics.

It is a very rare case for G-DRAGON to fully support a junior YG artist like this. That shows how big affection G-DRAGON has for WINNER. Fans are already paying keen attention to what the G-DRAGON’s cover song for WINNER will be like.
