The Korean military has responded to previous reports of G-Dragon’s official assignment.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that G-Dragon was assigned to be a military instruction assistant of the 3rd Infantry Division.

The press office of the Korean military has now commented, “Soldier Kwon Ji Yong has not been considered to become an instruction assistant of the 3rd Infantry Division. His final assignment is as a regular soldier in a unit under the 3rd Infantry Division.”

The representative added, “He finished his military training completion ceremony today, and he will be transferred sometime tomorrow.”

G-Dragon will be discharged on November 26, 2019.

G-Dragon has completed his basic military training!

According to an insider, the BIGBANG member attended his military training completion ceremony on April 5, finishing basic training.

During his five weeks at the 3rd Infantry Division recruit training center after enlisting on February 27, he showcased impressive physical and mental strength. As a result, he has reportedly been assigned to be a military instruction assistant of the 3rd Infantry Division.

G-Dragon is scheduled to be discharged from the military on November 26, 2019.

WINNER completely conquered music charts in two hours after their new song was released. It’s their achievement in 1 year since their previous hit ‘REALLY REALLY’, which was released last year on April 4. This indicates the fact that WINNER’s music is popular among the public mass. 

On April 4 at 6 PM, WINNER released their 2^nd official album ‘EVERYD4Y’. The title song ‘EVERYDAY’ was ranked at no. 1 as soon as it was released in 2 different music charts, while being ranked at the top in most major music charts. Then the song conquered all music charts in 2 hours, noticing an upcoming ‘all-kill’.

As of today, at 8 PM, the song ‘EVERYDAY’ was placed at no. 1 in various music charts in different platforms including Soribada, Genie, Olleh Music, Mnet, Bugs Music, and Melon, which is Korea’s largest music platform. WINNER’s new transformation and their additional charms put into the song attracted both fans and the public. 

The result is more meaningful since the song was written and composed by YOON and MINO, while HOONY participated in writing the lyrics. YANG HYUN SUK has previously shown confidence on the song by stating, “A song you will listen to every day”. His confidence had a reason. 

Not only the title song, but all 12 tracks from the album were written and composed by WINNER. On an interview held today, WINNER stated, “We challenged genres we didn’t try out on our first official album. The sentimental songs we did will show our growth, and listeners will feel our new challenge while listening to the other tracks”. 

WINNER set a milestone by achieving 100 million chart-in streams for the first time as male idols, with the song ‘REALLY REALLY’ released last year. People are paying keen attention on whether WINNER will achieve another 100 million streams and receive long-run popularity with the song ‘EVERYDAY’.

Artists from YG Entertainment are continuing their no. 1 march, dominating the K-Pop scene of early 2018. After iKON achieved a long-run hit, BIGBANG followed up with another no. 1 despite their enlistments, while WINNER is preparing to make comeback with iKON’s and BIGBANG’s winning spirits.

The first half of 2018 in the K-Pop scene is being dominated by artists from YG. 

With the title song ‘LOVE SCENARIO’ from their 2^nd official album ‘RETURN’ released on January 25, iKON achieved a milestone. The fans’ expectations were high as the group announced to focus on activities in Korea, while iKON managed to satisfy both the fans and the public with high quality music, firmly establishing their position as top idols.

‘LOVE SCENARIO’ was ranked at no. 1 in real-time, daily, weekly, and monthly charts, while setting a record of maintaining its no. 1 position for 43 days. They achieved a milestone by renewing the boy-group history of the past 10 years. Their achievements even made people long for iKON’s future releases. ‘LOVE SCENARIO’ is still maintaining its top rank position in music charts, in the long-run. 

The no. 1 spirit of iKON was passed on to BIGBANG, iKON’s older brother group from YG. Starting with G-DRAGON’s enlistment of February, TAEYANG and DAESUNG also enlisted on March, creating a vacancy on BIGBANG’s activities. While SEUNGRI was continuing his solo activities, BIGBANG dominated the K-Pop scene once again by releasing ‘FLOWER ROAD’, which was also a gift for the fans that will miss BIGBANG while the members serve their active military duties. 

With the song featuring all members of BIGBANG released in a year and 3 months, BIGBANG achieved an ‘all-kill’ in music charts and maintained their no. 1 spot for 10 days, continuing their long-run popularity.

Group WINNER will receive the baton following iKON and BIGBANG. WINNER will make comeback with their 2^nd official album ‘EVERYD4Y’, on April 4 at 6 PM. They actively participated in the music creation process as it’s their second full-length album, and worked hard on adding completion to the project. It’s their second comeback in Spring following their previous hit ‘REALLY REALLY’, which was released last year on April 4. 

Since members of WINNER participated in the writing and composing of all tracks, people are highly anticipating the group’s new album. Following WINNER’s milestone of achieving 100 million chart-in streams with the song ‘REALLY REALLY’ for the first time as a boy group, people are paying more attention to artists from YG after the consecutive hits released by iKON and success. It is expected that YG’s good spirit will continue with WINNER.

In fact, YG’s only female group, BLACKPINK, is already getting prepared to follow up after WINNER as well. The cast of JTBC’s variety show “Let’s Eat Dinner Together” have headed to Vladivostok, Russia on April 2. Along with Lee Kyung Kyu and Kang Ho Dong, BIGBANG’s Seungri also joined the journey as a special guest.

Seungri has recently been showing off his great variety skills on shows including “I Live Alone,” “Radio Star,” “My Ugly Duckling,” and “Ask us Anything.” As he sets off to Russia, eyes are on whether he’ll be able to complete the challenge of getting invited in for dinner in another country.

Bang Hyun Young, the producing director for “Let’s Eat Dinner Together,” explained the significance of the show’s special episodes shot in Russia. “Korean people are living separated in several different countries for historical reasons and Russia is one of them,” she said. “I would like to meet them in person, listen to their stories, and cover their historical background as well.”

“Let’s Eat Dinner Together” special featuring Seungri is to air sometime in April.

[OSEN=김은애 기자] BIGBANG is proving their presence as ‘God-BANG’ by firmly maintaining their no. 1 spot.

As of March 30, at 8 AM, BIGBANG’s ‘FLOWER ROAD’ was ranked at no. 1 in Melon, Korea’s largest music streaming platform. They have maintained their top spot for 18 days since the song was released on the 13^th.

BIGBANG achieved an ‘all-kill’ in music charts despite their absences due to enlistments while gaining popularity in and out of Korea.

The group is dominating no. 1 spots during hours when the number of users increase. Furthermore, the song ‘FLOWER ROAD’ is maintaining its no. 1 rank in daily and weekly charts.

‘FLOWER ROAD’ is a song that serves as a love letter by BIGBANG for the fans, written before their enlistments. Leader G-DRAGON participated in the writing and composing of the song, while oldest member T.O.P also helped write the lyrics, expressing his sincerity.

Meanwhile, members of BIGBANG except for SEUNGRI including G-DRAGON, T.O.P, TAEYANG, and DAESUNG are all serving active military duties.
