BIGBANG’s Daesung, BTOB’s Eunkwang, B1A4’s CNU, and Jo Yoon Woo will be taking their close bond to a variety show!

On February 1, Channel A announced, “BIGBANG’s Daesung, BTOB’s Eunkwang, B1A4’s CNU, and actor Jo Yoon Woo are appearing as guests on ‘Cohabitation, Not Marriage.'” They added, “The broadcast date has yet to be decided but they will appear alongside a couple. Please look forward to seeing what couple they are paired with.”

These four stars became close friends while serving in the military together. This appearance is especially notable for Daesung as it marks his first promotions in the entertainment industry in four years. Additionally, “Cohabitation, Not Marriage” will be his first variety show in six years and his first activity since parting ways with his longtime agency YG Entertainment this past December.

“Cohabitation, Not Marriage” is a variety show that follows real-life couples moving in together before or instead of getting married. The program airs on Mondays at 9:10 p.m. KST on Channel A.

The Korean Business Research Institute has revealed this month’s brand reputation rankings for all stars!

The rankings were determined through an analysis of various stars’ media coverage, consumer participation, interaction, and community awareness indexes, using big data collected from December 29, 2022 to January 29, 2023.

NewJeans rose to the top of this month’s list with a brand reputation index of 8,917,773, marking a 32.59 percent increase in his score since December.

BTS held onto their spot at second place with a brand reputation index of 7,527,175, while Lim Young Woong came in at a close third with a total index of 7,187,117.

IU took fourth place for January with a brand reputation index of 6,657,078, and BLACKPINK rounded out the top five with an index of 5,913,166.

Circle Chart (formerly known as Gaon Chart) has revealed its chart rankings for the week of January 15 to 21!

Album Chart

Following their triple crown on last week’s charts, NewJeans has scored a quadruple crown on Circle’s latest rankings!

Right after its release early this month, NewJeans’ latest album “OMG” debuted at No. 1 on Circle’s album chart and has now regained the top spot after impressively climbing over 100 ranks. Making another big jump was SEVENTEEN’s fourth album “Face the Sun,” which moved up 17 spots to take over the No. 2 position.

New entries on the album chart included GOT the beat’s first mini album “Stamp On It” at No. 3, followed by NewJeans’ “OMG” (Weverse) coming in at No. 4. Closing out the top five was “Candy,” NCT DREAM’s recent winter special mini album.

This week’s download chart crowned a new winner, with “VIBE” by BIGBANG’s Taeyang featuring BTS’s Jimin taking the top spot! In second and third respectively were “Ditto” and “OMG” by NewJeans.

Making its debut at No. 4 was “Love War” (feat. BE’O) by Choi Ye Na, followed by MONSTA X’s “Beautiful Liar,” which topped last week’s chart.

Digital Chart

On Circle’s recent digital, streaming, and global K-pop charts, NewJeans dominated all top two spots with their latest hits “Ditto” and “OMG,” while their summer song “Hype Boy” came in at No. 4.

On the digital chart, Younha’s viral hit “Event Horizon” maintained its No. 3 position and Taeyang and Jimin’s “VIBE” impressively climbed up 23 ranks to land in the top five.

Streaming Chart

The updated streaming chart was identical to last week’s, with NewJeans taking No. 1, No. 2, and No. 4 with “Ditto,” “OMG,” and “Hype Boy.” “Event Horizon” by Younha stayed strong at No. 3 and “ANTIFRAGILE” by LE SSERAFIM held onto its position at No. 5.

Global K-Pop Chart

“Ditto” and “OMG” by NewJeans spent yet another week atop Circle’s global K-pop chart, while Taeyang and Jimin’s “VIBE” came in third after jumping six ranks.

NewJeans’ “Hype Boy” fell one spot to No. 4 and was followed by LE SSERAFIM’s “ANTIFRAGILE” in No. 5.

Social Chart

There was little change in this week’s social chart, with BLACKPINK continuing their streak in the top position. NewJeans overtook BTS to snag No. 2, while BTS fell one rank to No. 3. The fourth and fifth positions remained the same with Choi Yu Ree and Lim Young Woong, respectively.

On January 24 local time, Billboard revealed that Taeyang’s new single “VIBE” featuring Jimin had debuted at No. 9 on its Global Excl U.S. chart, which ranks songs based on streaming and sales activity from over 200 territories around the world (excluding the United States).

Notably, the song’s debut marks both Taeyang’s and Jimin’s first time entering the top 10 of the Global Excl. U.S. chart as soloists.

The rankings were determined through an analysis of the consumer participation, media coverage, interaction, and community awareness indexes of 1,590 idols, using big data collected from December 24, 2022 to January 24, 2023.

BTS’s Jimin topped this month’s list with a brand reputation index of 4,607,152. High-ranking phrases in his keyword analysis included “VIBE,” “Paris Fashion Week,” and “BIGBANG’s Taeyang,” while his highest-ranking related terms included “collaborate,” “participate,” and “record.” Jimin’s positivity-negativity analysis also revealed a high score of 90.76 percent positive reactions.

NewJeans’ Minji took second place in the rankings with a brand reputation index of 3,978,087, while BTS’s Jungkook came in at a close third with an index of 3,887,118.

ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo ranked fourth with a brand reputation index of 3,457,094, and NewJeans’ Hanni rounded out the top five with a total score of 2,878,097.

NewJeans topped this month’s list with a brand reputation index of 9,400,011. High-ranking phrases in the group’s keyword analysis included “OMG,” “Minji,” and “Ditto,” while their highest-ranking related terms included “record,” “surpass,” and “apologize.” NewJeans’ positivity-negativity analysis also revealed a score of 86.05 percent positive reactions.

BTS took second place in the rankings with a brand reputation index of 8,106,573, while BLACKPINK came in third place with an index of 4,865,510.

IVE claimed fourth place with a brand reputation index of 3,878,364, and SEVENTEEN rounded out the top five for January with a total score of 3,266,092.

Both BIGBANG’s Taeyang and BTS’s Jimin are achieving some exciting career firsts as soloists with their new collab single!

For the week of January 20 to 26, Taeyang’s new single “VIBE” featuring Jimin entered several of the United Kingdom’s Official Charts (typically regarded as the U.K. equivalent to Billboard’s U.S. charts).

“VIBE” debuted on the Official Singles Chart at No. 96, making it both Taeyang’s and Jimin’s first-ever entry as soloists on the chart.

The song also debuted at No. 4 on both the Official Singles Sales Chart and the Official Singles Downloads Chart, making it Taeyang’s first entry as a soloist on both charts and Jimin’s second (following his “Our Blues” OST track “With You“).

Additionally, “VIBE” debuted at No. 48 on the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA)’s Singles Chart this week, making it both Taeyang’s and Jimin’s first solo entry on the chart.
