[EXCLUSIVE] BIGBANG SEUNGRI X iKON Confirmed to Make Appearance in ‘Knowing Bros’… First Variety Program Together

[OSEN=김은애 기자] It’s the ‘legendary line-up’ fans of YG have been waiting for. BIGBANG’s SEUNGRI and iKON will appear on ‘Knowing Bros’.

According to related officials on January 16, BIGBANG’s SEUNGRI and iKON have confirmed to make appearance in JTBC’s ‘Knowing Bros’. The filming will be on the 25th, the day of iKON’s comeback.

The staff members of ‘Knowing Bros’ have worked hard to get SEUNGRI on the show. SEUNGRI has gathered attention from the viewers with his humor through many variety programs, including ‘Radio Star’. Furthermore, he is known as the ‘YG’s Representative Variety Idol’, making the most appearances in Japanese variety programs among other members of BIGBANG.

However, due to SEUNGRI’s busy schedule including the recently held BIGBANG concert, it was not easy for him to set up a filming schedule. After the tour was over, SEUNGRI was able to confirm his guest appearance in ‘Knowing Bros’. It is expected that SEUNGRI will actively participate in ‘Knowing Bros’ and will present a big laughter for the viewers.

SEUNGRI chose iKON as his favorite juniors from YG, so they got to make appearance in ‘Knowing Bros’ together. It was a result of a warm brotherhood from YG.

Since iKON will make their comeback with their 2nd official album soon, it is expected that their appearance in ‘Knowing Bros’ will receive a lot of attention. It’s their 2nd official album that will release in 2 years, and the film takes place on the date of the release, January 25.

With iKON’s appearance in ‘Knowing Bros’, YG’s YANG HYUN SUK kept his promise with iKONIC (fans of iKON). YANG HYUN SUK have emphasized “All-in on Korean fans, will try to accept all requests from Konics” numerous times through his social media.

The fans wanted iKON to make appearance in ‘Knowing Bros’, while YANG HYUN SUK stated that he will try to make it happen. It is known that starting with ‘Knowing Bros’, iKON is receiving invitations from many variety programs.

Since iKON have shown their variety sense through programs including ‘iKON PICNIC’ which ended last year on December, they are expected to make the viewers laugh with their senior, SEUNGRI. People are paying keen attention on what kind of collaboration ‘YG’s Brothers’ SEUNGRI and iKON will show in ‘Knowing Bros’, and whether their appearance will create another legendary episode.

Meanwhile, iKON will release their 2nd official album ‘RETURN’ on January 25. The album will contain the one title song ‘LOVE SCENARIO’, along with 8 new tracks and 4 Korean versions of songs previously released in Japan. The album is highly anticipated since iKON’s leader B.I participated in the writing and composing of all 12 songs, while PSY and TABLO assisted on producing.

[OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT] G-DRAGON Will Open a New ‘GD Café’ ·Bowling Alley in Jeju Island

[OSEN=지민경 기자] BIGBANG’s G-DRAGON will open a new ‘GD Café’ and bowling alley in Jeju Island.

On the ‘GD Café’ and bowling alley which will open on February and March, G-DRAGON participated in the design, planning, and interior from the early construction stage, adding more meaning to both business locations.

‘GD Café’ is an architecture built with inspiration from the logo of the fashion brand, ‘PEACEMINUSONE”.

Likewise, the bowling alley which will also serve as a lounge pub, was created with G-DRAGON’s idea that Jeju Island lacks in leisure space where families can enjoy their time.

‘GD Café’ and the new bowling alley has been under construction for about a year, and is currently at the interior completion stage. G-DRAGON is currently staying in Jeju Island, displaying his affections on the new places of business by exhibiting his personal art collections and even drawing on the interior himself.

People are expecting a synergy effect between G-DRAGON and Jeju Shinhwa World, one of North East Asia’s largest integrated resort located in Jeju Island.

Meanwhile, YG Entertainment stated, ‘Monsant Aewol’ which was known as ‘Old GD Café’ has been disposed and closed at the end of last year, and is currently operated by a different owner under a different name”.

They added, “The ‘chandelier damage’ incident which became an issue online is not related to G-DRAGON. G-DRAGON’s personal art collection exhibited on the café were pulled out of the store long ago when he sold the café”.

‘G-Dragon Cafe’ and the bowling alley, each scheduled to open in February and March, are even more meaningful because G-Dragon took part in designing and planning them from the beginning.

The design of ‘G-Dragon Cafe’ was inspired by the logo of G-Dragon’s fashion brand PEACEMINUSONE. The bowling alley equipped with a lounge pub comes as a result of G-Dragon’s idea that Jeju Island lacks leisure facilities all family members can enjoy.

After a year of steady progress, both the cafe and the bowling alley are now in the final stage of interior design. G-Dragon has been staying in Jeju Island, installing his personal collections and painting pictures for the interior design.

G-Dragon’s agency YG Entertainment stated that Mônsant De Aewol, known as the former ‘G-Dragon Cafe,’ had been sold at the end of last year. The cafe now owned by another individual under a different name no longer has anything to do with G-Dragon, according to YG Entertainment.

The agency added, “The ‘chandelier damage’ incident that caused an online sensation is completely irrelevant to G-Dragon. This is because personal collections that G-Dragon had installed were removed a long time ago as they were wrapping up the business.”

The ‘chandelier damage’ incident refers to the controversy that broke out when a customer at Mônsant De Aewol accidentally damaged the chandelier reported to be worth 300 million won (approximately $283,400). The customer appeared to be unashamed of the accident and accused G-Dragon of placing the chandelier in a wrong position, even though G-Dragon only asked her to pay the repair work cost, saying he would pay for the rest. The post gained attention online and was deleted after several people criticized the writer for the problematic attitude.
