In the video, the founder thanked the concert’s staff by saying, “Today was the last day of the concerts. It’s true that all five [members of BIGBANG] did well, but I believe that the present day BIGBANG was made through a collective effort from all of the staff here today.”

Yang Hyun Suk went on to tell the crew, “In two to three years from now, BIGBANG will start again. And I believe they will last forever.”

Yang Hyun Suk also posted a photo of T.O.P’s image that was projected during the concert, and shot of himself with T.O.P. He used song lyrics as hashtags, writing, “I will sing this song as I return to you,” and “If I could see beautiful you again.”

He continued to share that T.O.P’s appearance was one of his most memorable moments of the concert. He wrote, “The most touching part [of the concert] yesterday,” and “See you again BIGBANG,” as well as, “BIGBANG consists of five members.”

[COMPREHENSIVE REPORT] ‘BIGBANG’ Meets 70,000 Audiences in ‘Last Concert’ Before Military Duty… Meet All 5 of Us on the Day of Act II

[서울경제=정다훈기자] “It’s the last of Act I for BIGBANG” (DAESUNG)

“We will comeback as five members, new and improved” (SEUNGRI)

“I performed every stage as if it’s the last. I’ll meet you on stage again. Please don’t worry.” (TAEYANG)

“Being with all of you helped me overcome and eventually get here. Everything was possible because we were together” (G-DRAGON)

The last concert by ‘BIGBANG’ before serving their military duties came to an end. On ‘BIGBANG 2017 CONCERT ‘LAST DANCE’ IN SEOUL’ held in Seoul Gocheok Sky Dome on December 30 and 31, 4 members of BIGBANG including G-DRAGON, TAEYANG, SEUNGRI, and DAESUNG got on stage and spent a special moment with the fans, promising they will come back as 5 members including T.O.P.

This concert gathered attention as it was TAEYANG and G-DRAGON’s last concert before they serve their military duty, and successfully gathered 70,000 audiences for the two days.

For the last concert before break, BIGBANG displayed simple yet sensual visuals on their stage utilizing big size LED. The width and height of the main stage of ‘LAST DANCE’ was amounts to 69Mx21M, and the 4K LED with width and height of 64M16M displayed an overwhelming visual scene. It was a shocking composition of stage, since one can consider the whole stage as a visual.

Also, the immense moving stage sized 13Mx4M moved scores of meters, designed to help the members can communicate with the audience at a closer range.

Following the glamorous opening visuals, BIGBANG displayed a strong performance through songs including ‘HANDS UP’, ‘SOBER’, and ‘WE LIKE 2 PARTY’. They continued not only performing BIGBANG’s greatest hits but also solo performances, including G-DRAGON and TAEYANG’s solo releases in 2017, DAESUNG’s solo releases in Japan, and even SEUNGRI’s solo performance, which was hard to come by.

It was a concert where the audience can really feel BIGBANG’s charm, releasing strong energy not only as a group with approximately 20 repertoires of songs, but also as solo members. The solo performances with songs such as ‘Untitled’, ‘WAKE ME UP’, ‘AZECHO’, ‘COME TO MY’ by G-DRAGON, TAEYANG, DAESUNG, and SEUNGRI captured the eyes and ears of the audience with the display of individual attraction by members. On the unit performances, DAESUNG and SEUNGRI performed ‘LOOK AT ME GWISOON’, while G-DRAGON and TAEYANG displayed a different color by performing ‘GOOD BOY’.

G-DRAGON and TAEYANG facing military service next year stated, “I hope this becomes a fun and memorable concert as today’s a very special day in many ways”.

During the solo performances, TAEYANG performed ‘WAKE ME UP’ and ‘DARLING’, and G-DRAGON heated up the stage by singing ‘BULLSHIT’ and ‘Untitled’. G-DRAGON stated, “I didn’t get a chance to meet you after releasing my album, including TV appearances. It’s an honor to finally be able to perform these songs in front of you at this stage”. While introducing ‘Untitled’, G-DRAGON modestly stated, “I’ll sing my best although I’m not good at singing”.

TAEYANG stated, “I feel happy and grateful that I can perform on this stage following yesterday’s concert”. He continued, “The fans here yesterday were very enthusiastic, so it made me excited to think how heated up today’s concert will be since the morning”.

TAEYANG continued by showing love and trust by stating, “Thank you for showing love for us 5 members, and please continue to do so”. He tried expressing his mixed feelings by stating, “Although it’s sad to think that we won’t be able to meet each other for a while, but it also makes me look forward to the day we meet again, new and improved”. He also asked his fans, “Please wait for us until all 5 of us come back to meet you better than ever”.

DAESUNG who talked cheerfully during the whole concert stated, “It’s the last concert before joining the army. I don’t think it’s sad” and continued, “I will do all my duties as a man and come back in good shape”.

BIGBANG spent the last night of 2017 by performing encore of songs “HEAVEN’, ‘LIES’, ‘CROOKED’, and ‘LAST DANCE’. After working tirelessly for 11 years since their debut in 2006 as a global K-Pop group, BIGBANG will depart with the fans for a while after this concert.

G-DRAGON stated, “The name of the tour, ‘LAST DANCE’ doesn’t mean it’s the last. I’m confident that it won’t be the last. I hope you feel the same way”.

He also told the audience, “I believe it’s a period to improve ourselves, to reunite in better shape”.

Lastly, he made a request to the audience by stating, “We received too much love, so I believe it’s our duty to share the love we received. I want to present you bigger gifts day by day. We will be back, more mature, so please wait for us where you always have”.

‘LAST DANCE’, which was tentatively the last concert, came to an end. BIGBANG released roughly 280 songs during the past 11 years since debut. SEUNGRI promised to come back as 5-member BIGBANG by stating, “The 280 songs contain the time and memories us and the fans shared together. We would like to think of it as a ‘promise’ rather than memories”.

BIGBANG Shares Their Thoughts After Emotional Final “Last Dance” Concert

On December 30-31, BIGBANG closed out their year with “BIGBANG 2017 Concert Last Dance in Seoul” at the Gocheok Sky Dome.

This was BIGBANG’s last concert as a group before their hiatus (though member TOP was absent due to enlisting earlier this year) as G-Dragon and Taeyang are expected to enlist in the military in 2018.

At the end, when the members shared their thoughts with the live audience, many of them got emotional saying goodbye.

Daesung said, “It’s been fun. I’ve been to a lot of places, hoping to see lots of new things. Thank you. For a long time, there’s been rumors that ‘this is BIGBANG’s last concert,’ but finally the last concert before enlistment has arrived. Because of the memories and gifts you’ve given me, I’m not sad but grateful that we were able to arrive at this point.”

He added, “I think of this as the end of the first part. We will return in health after doing our duty as men so we hope that everyone will take care of their health too. The most important thing is being together. This is not the end, so let’s continue to make memories together and make our relationship even stronger. I think that meeting you was the meeting of my lifetime.”

Taeyang said, “The time has gone by so fast that I don’t know where it’s gone. Not too long ago, I watched a video of our showcase 10 years ago and I felt grateful for the cherished memories we made with everyone. Meeting all of you from the stage is my greatest happiness. After this concert, it is a bit sad that we will not be able to meet for a time, no matter how long or short it is, but I am also excited to greet you with a new and mature image when I return.”

He added, “Please wait for us until we can return with five members once again. People ask if I’m worried that this will be the last of BIGBANG, but it doesn’t feel like that to me. Even today, I thought that I should do this concert like I always do. I always try to come up here with the mindset that this could be my last performance. You don’t have to worry. Even after I enlist, I think that your support will be my strength. I want to say thank you.”

G-Dragon said, “I don’t know how people thought of the tour name ‘Last Dance,’ but we don’t attach a lot of meaning to the word ‘last.’ We’re sure that this won’t be our last so we hope that all of you will think so as well. We’ve been through a lot and have faith and understanding in each other, so I think that if everyone lives without fear, has fun and thinks only good things, then you will experience only good things.”

He continued, “There have been lots of good things and lots of other things, but we were able to endure it all thanks to you. I think it was possible because we were together. I don’t know what to say at this moment. I’ve never thought about it and now it doesn’t feel real. I want to give you all a bigger gift with every year, but I think that I am lacking. I will return with a more mature image so if you can wait with excitement in your heart, the time spent waiting will be a good one. Thank you for giving us your precious time at the end of 2017.”

Seungri said, “I’m not a person who scares easily, but now for some reason I am afraid. I was the last member of BIGBANG to join and at the time I had nothing but my confidence, so now I think about whether I have the right to stand on this stage. I feel like I have only caused trouble for my members, my fans, and my agency, and been a person that always required help. Now I hope that I can become a person that helps my members and the staff at my agency instead of the youngest member that always causes trouble. As time passes, you start to think differently. This is the time when we need your support the most. I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Adding together our group and solo work, BIGBANG has made 280 songs. All of them contain the precious time and memories we spent together.”

Tearing up, he concluded, “Thank you to everyone who took the time to be here today and the parents who gave birth to us. We are not robots and people with feelings, so there are times when we make mistakes or errors in judgment. At those times, we become stronger because we have our fans, and we think that we need to repay such support and love. We’ve been through a lot, but I hope that BIGBANG can reunite as five members and laugh and sing and run and sweat together. Thank you and happy new year.”

BIGBANG Promises Fans to Return as Five

Rounding out 2017, K-pop act BIGBANG on Sunday wrapped up its last concert as a group before members’ upcoming military enlistment, with a promise to return as the complete five-piece.

“BIGBANG 2017 Concert Last Dance in Seoul,” the two-day concert that kicked off Saturday at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, was especially meaningful to both the K-pop act and fans, as it marked BIGBANG’s last performance before it goes on hiatus due to members G-Dragon, Taeyang and Daesung’s upcoming enlistment. And the members used the time to assure the more than 60,000 fans from all around the world that it won’t be their “last dance.”

“We won’t be able to meet you (fans) for some time, so we will do our best to present you the most unforgettable memories,” said Taeyang after the group opened the show with “Hands Up.”

In the absence of rapper T.O.P, who halted group activities after becoming embroiled in a drug scandal in August, the remaining four members filled the three-hour show with the group’s longtime hits, including “We Like 2 Party,” “Bad Boy,” “Loser” and “If You,” as well as solo performances by the individual members.

The show was delayed for about 20 minutes without prior announcement, but the fans remained patient and supportive, and the show began well.

During the solo parts, Taeyang crooned his solo hits “Wake Me Up” and “Darling,” while G-Dragon performed his latest singles “Bullshit” and “Untitled, 2014,” saying that he didn’t have much opportunity to promote his new songs at the time.

“Some of you might hear these songs for the first time, although they are not new. It’s my pleasure to perform these songs today,” said G-Dragon, whose promotion for his latest eponymous EP “Kwon Ji-yong” had coincided with T.O.P’s drug scandal.

Daesung, who has been holding promotional activities in Japan, sang his solo numbers “D-Day” and “AZECHO,” and Seungri brought out his classic solo hit “Strong Baby.” “I’ve been promoting my solo career mainly in Japan, and I wanted to sing in Korean. If I have a good opportunity, I’d like to sing for you again (in Korean) in the future,” Daesung said. The members also showed their support for T.O.P, with Daesung filling in the rapper’s part in “Sober” and Seungri shouting “Say T.O.P!” during the performances.

Near the end of the concert, the members became emotional, putting out their thoughts about having to “temporarily” leave the fans.

“The ‘last dance’ doesn’t mean much to us. I am confident that it won’t be our last, and we will see each other soon if you (fans) stay where you are,” said G-dragon, who is scheduled to join the military in the next few months. Taeyang, who also plans to enlist this year, promised fans to return as a fivesome after finishing his military service. Seungri also said, “There are a total of 280 songs by BIGBANG, including our solo songs, and they include our promise to return as one whole group.”

Since its debut in 2006, BIGBANG has been making waves throughout the K-pop scene with the its experimental blend of hip-hop, electronic dance music and rock in its music. Often dubbed the “King of K-pop” for helping K-pop spread internationally, the quintet also made history on the charts with hits like “Day by Day,” “Fantastic Baby” and “Bang Bang Bang.”

While their enlistment dates are yet to be set, the group’s agency YG Entertainment has confirmed that G-Dragon and Taeyang, who ties the knot with actress Min Hyo-rin in February, will join the military this year. Daesung also revealed during the Sunday concert that the show would be his last activity before his enlistment.

[OFFICIAL] BIGBANG Drew the Greatest Number of Audiences Among Korean Artists… Audiences Drawn by YG Artists Surpass 2 Million

[스포츠조선=이유나 기자]  ‘Brother-groups’ BIGBANG and iKON, proved their status as performance artists.

Nikkei Entertainment recently announced a list of ‘2017 Concert Mobilization Power Ranking’ from 1st to 50th place. Among many artists, BIGBANG and iKON from YG Entertainment made it into the top list, proving their ‘world-class’ popularity.

According to the chart, BIGBANG was placed at 2nd with a total of 20 concerts and 1,022,000 audiences. iKON was placed at number 12 with a total of 33 concerts and 463,000 audiences. Also, individual members of BIGBANG who actively worked as a solo artist in Japan, DAESUNG and G-DRAGON, took the 30th and 34th place.

BIGBANG was placed at number 1 for two consecutive years, in 2015 and 2016. The rankings this year include not only foreign artists but also local artists of Japan, which makes the list even more meaningful.

Furthermore, YG mobilized 2 million audiences in Japan alone, due to the support and love from fans.

The reasons why artists from YG have high concert mobilization power globally include unique performances, live quality, and the huge scale which is considered to be on another level.

BIGBANG also set a milestone in Japan as the first foreign artist to have a 5-year consecutive dome tour, drawing 4,205,500 audiences.

As BIGBANG successfully wrapped up their dome tour in Japan, they will hold a year-end concert at Seoul Gocheok Sky Dome for two days, starting from today (December 30). As the members will not be able to perform as a team for a while, they are planning to make the concert epic, covering the past 11-year history of BIGBANG.

Meanwhile, iKON who set the record for having the longest tour with the most number of concerts in the history of Japanese tours, will be coming back to the K-Pop scene on January next year. They are planning to accept the wishes from fans and will therefore focus on activities in Korea.
