Taeyang Reveals Why He Moved Out Of BIGBANG’s Dorm To Live Alone

As a part of promotions for his solo comeback album, BIGBANG’s Taeyang starred on the latest August 18th episode of “I Live Alone.”

Taeyang shared he has been living alone for six years now, after leaving the dormitory he used to live in with the other BIGBANG members.

When asked if there was a particular reason why he chose to live alone, he answered, “Seungri would turn the music on loudly and frequently bring friends over. After I left, other members started to leave the dormitory as well.”

Despite living apart, the members still remain very close. BIGBANG members Seungri and Daesung even came to visit Taeyang for a pajama party during this broadcast of “I Live Alone.”

BIGBANG’s 11th anniversary is today!

The now legendary K-pop group made their debut on August 19 of 2006 at the YG Family 10th Anniversary Concert. The group has gone on to make history as one of the most successful K-pop groups both within the country and internationally as one of the leaders in the Korean Wave.

On August 18, Taeyang guested on MBC's 'I Live Alone'. The star revealed his home for the first time and also invited fellow BIGBANG members Seungri and Daesung to his house. 

Taeyang went to go pick up Daesung and in the car, the two members talked about their fellow BIGBANG members. Daesung commented, "I have no idea where everyone is nowadays." Taeyang responded, "Jiyong is currently touring", and revealed he recently received a call from him in the early morning. 

 

Taeyang continued, "It kind of seemed like he was upset that I didn't invite him." Daesung laughed and added, "I also called him that morning and told him to come if he can but he was like, 'Nah, I didn't even get invited'."

TAEYANG to Kick Off Promotions for His New Album on August 18 with Pre-recording for Inkigayo

[엑스포츠뉴스=전원 기자] BIGBANG’s TAEYANG will put on his comeback stage on SBS’s Inkigayo.

On August 18, TAEYANG will be doing the pre-recording for SBS’s Inkigayo. He will perform “WAKE ME UP” before his fans, and then do the recording of “DARLING” behind closed doors.

TAEYANG, YG Entertainment, and the Inkigayo staff have been working hard from two days before the show’s air date to make his comeback stage perfect.

TAEYANG’s recorded performance will be aired on Inkigayo on August 20. TAEYANG is to do active promotions for his new album, including making appearances in music and variety shows.

Meanwhile, TAEYANG released his new solo album “WHITE NIGHT” on August 16. The album became No.1 on the US iTunes Albums Chart, demonstrating TAEYANG’s global popularity.

G-DRAGON donated 81.8 million Korean won to UNHCR in celebration of his birthday (Aug. 18) today

[OSEN=정지원 기자] Group BIGBANG’s leader G-DRAGON made donation in celebration of his birthday this year again.

On August 18, his birthday, G-DRAGON donated 81.8 million Korean won to UNHCR Korea, to help refugees around the world who are suffering from civil wars and violence.

G-DRAGON has made special donations on his birthday every year. He has set a good example of donating for children with disabilities and socially disadvantaged people. He is also famous for not just making special donations but also for encouraging others to donate, by sending messages on his personal social media accounts.

G-DRAGON’s donation to UNHCR will be used for the organization’s “Global Shelter Campaign”. UNHCR has been staging the campaign from May 2016, for the purpose of providing two million refugees worldwide with safe temporary shelters and secure residential environment.

The fund raised through the campaign will be used to provide refugees with minimum temporary residential space necessary for survival. In addition, it will be used to help them overcome the physical and mental damages from violence and persecution.

G-DRAGON explained his intention of the donation, saying, “I think it would be great if we all can live in a peaceful world. It is heartbreaking to see children who are on the road to avoid war and violence. I wanted to make a small contribution to create shelters for them”.

“Peace is not something that can be achieved by words, but by our joint efforts for it. That is my message”, added G-DRAGON.

G-DRAGON will release the music video of “BULLSHIT” today (Aug. 18) at 8:18PM. It will be released exclusively through the link in flash drive album “KWON JI YONG” which emerged as a “hot issue” in the music scene when it was released. The video is drawing all the more attention, as it is the first content that is updated through the link in the flash drive for the first time since its release.

[OSEN=유지혜 기자] BIGBANG’s TAEYANG will appear in MBC “Single Life” show. Producer Hwang Ji-young of the show unveiled behind stories of TAEYANG’s shooting for “Single Life”.

BIGBANG’s TAEYANG is appearing in the rainbow live episode of MBC’s “Single Life” show to be aired in the evening on August 18, to raise fans’ anticipation. They are paying keen attention to TAEYANG’s daily lives to be unveiled in “Single Life” show for the first time in 11 years since debut.

In TAEYANG’s still cuts, he is lounging in the house wearing pajamas and doing exercise near his house in the same pajamas. Those still cuts have already given TAEYANG a nickname of “Grandpa Dong”.

“Single Life” show’s producer Hwang Ji-young smiled while saying to OSEN, “TAEYANG’s daily lives were not like that of an idol singer”. Hwang explained, “TAEYANG’s house was very simple and it was perfectly for ‘rest’. He stays overseas and at hotels much, so his house was perfectly like ‘home’”.

Producer Hwang went on to say, “Still, TAEYANG’s personal life was also very interesting, as I could better understand his life as a super-popular idol singer. As he stays overseas for a long time during a year, he always tries to eat healthy Korean food when he is at home and he even cooks by himself. That was something unlooked for TAEYANG”. 

Notably, regarding TAEYANG’s new nickname “Grandpa Dong”, Hwang explained, “The members of the rainbow club gathered at the studio gave him the nickname, watching what his every life is like. It was absolutely not something everyone expected. It was rather like the life of a retired grandfather or our fathers. Those unexpected twists were very pleasantly surprising”.

The chemistry between the stars invited to rainbow live episodes and the fixed rainbow members including Jun Hyun-moo, Park Narae, Han Hye-jin, and Lee Si-eon is usually the biggest fun of “Single Life” show. To a question about the chemistry between TAEYANG and the other rainbow members, Hwang answered, “Cartoonist Kian 84 came to the shooting of that day. He is famous as a big fan of BIGBANG. He has always sung or danced to BIGBANG songs in ‘Single Life’. His dream came true when he personally met TAEYANG at the studio. You can see how much Kian84 was happy to meet TAEYANG”.

BIGBANG’s G-Dragon Donates 81.8 Million Won To Refugees On His Birthday

BIGBANG’s G-Dragon has made a warm donation on his birthday, August 18.

He donated a total of 81.8 million won (approximately $71,700) to the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) in order to help worldwide refugees fleeing war and violence.

G-Dragon has been making donations each year on his birthday for the sick and the disabled and has encouraged his fans to follow his example through his social media accounts.

G-Dragon stated, “I want us to live in a peaceful world. It breaks my heart to see children flee from civil war and violence. I want to help create a place for them to rest a while,” and added, “Peace is not achieved by simply thinking about it. It is created by our collective efforts to achieve it.”

Also today (August 18), on his birthday, he will release a music video of his song “BULLSHIT” at 8:18 p.m. KST. It will be exclusively shared through a link in his USB album “Kwon Ji Yong” and will be the first content to be updated through the USB album.

Haha and Yang Se Hyung are hosting a “short party” on “Infinite Challenge”!

On August 18, Haha posted a video of them dunking for the program and tagged “Infinite Challenge,” “short party,” and the participants Shorry J, Yoo Byung Jae, Yang Se Hyung, Jo Se Ho, Taeyang, Taeil, and Ha Sung Woon.

A representative for “Infinite Challenge” confirmed, “BIGBANG’s Taeyang, Block B’s Taeil, Wanna One’s Ha Sung Woon, and others will be appearing,” and shared that it is for an episode where each of the members prepare their own special corner.

Another source added, “Haha and Yang Se Hyung held a ‘short party’ and invited other celebrities who are under 170 centimeters (approximately 5 feet, 7 inches).”
