BIGBANG fans demand apology from BTS for ‘copying’ T.O.P’s performance

BTS is wrapped up in plagiarism accusations regarding BIGBANG.
On February 22, ‘The 6th GAON Chart Music Awards’ took place. Many K-Pop artists joined the ceremony and among them were BTS. The group performed “Save Me” and “Blood, Sweat & Tears”.
After watching their stage, BIGBANG fans in Korea claimed that BTS has copied the setup and concept from T.O.P’s ‘no signal’ performance. As you can see below, BTS’ stage starts off with the ‘no signal’ screens, similar to T.O.P’s solo performance at BIGBANG’s concerts.

This is not the first time BTS is accused of copying BIGBANG. Last year in May, VIPs and ARMYs around the world got into a heated debate about BTS’ alleged plagiarism.

Korean VIPs are upset and furious and they believe BTS continues to “copy.” Because of this, they are demanding an apology with the hashtag #노_시그널_사과해주세요, meaning #No_Signal_Please apologize.
Currently, many BIGBANG fans are expressing anger with comments, “BIGBANG was first to apply ‘no signal’ into their performance. You have to accept the truth”, “YG need to take legal action”, “They copy everything!”, “Why are they keep copying! Let’s cheer up TT”
On the other hand, some netizens commented, “Hul~ lol this is unbelievable. This is too far of a stretch,” “BIGBANG didn’t invent sh*t. Why should they apologize, “Do a search for ‘no signal’ and you will get millions of results. Overreaction at its finest.”

You can check out BTS’ controversial ‘no signal’ stage setup in the clip above.

Seungri sued by company of singer Shin Eun Sung for withholding real estate investment profits

According to media outlet The Fact, an entertainment company ‘C‘ has filed a lawsuit against BIGBANG‘s Seungri, on the basis that he and company ‘J‘, a real estate investment company owned by Seungri’s father, withheld real investment profits belonging to both parties.

Back in December of 2015, Seungri had filed a lawsuit against a female singer named Shin Eun Sung, who had been under company C and had borrowed money from Seungri for a real estate investment venture. The reported loan amount for the lawsuit then had been 2 billion KRW (~ 1.7 million USD) plus an added 50 million KRW (~ 43,000 USD), but after some time, the lawsuit was ultimately cancelled, and the issue worked out over discussion.

However, a second lawsuit has come to attention, filed this past February 13 by company C surrounding the same land with which singer Shin had sought to pursue her real estate investment venture. According to company C, “We contacted the notarized contract holders company J, and the owner of the land Lee Seung Hyun (Seungri’s real name), regarding the profits earned from an increase in the land’s value several times, but we were not able to communicate with them, and as a result have filed a lawsuit.” Company C is asking for “the return of profits earned from the real estate investment.”

It’s said that the price of the land when first purchased in 2014 was approximately 3.4 billion KRW (~ 2.9 million USD), but has now risen to approximately 8 billion KRW (~ 6.9 million USD). It’s assumed that company C is attempting to receive a portion of the land’s profits from company J by arguing on the basis of the contract that both parties signed when carrying out the real estate investment venture back in 2014, involving singer Shin.

Company C also claims that it is false that Shin refused to contact Seungri regarding the loaned amount from the previous lawsuit. When The Fact attempted to seek out Seungri’s parents’ sides by visiting the cafe owned by them, an employee of the cafe said, “The parents are such good people, it’s hard to believe that they are involved in this kind of lawsuit at all… Whether it’s something good or bad, it seems they are reluctant to come in contact with the media for fear that they might have a negative effect on their son.”

Stay tuned for updates.

Last February 14th, Nonsan Bootcamp’s official website released photos of their new recruits in their full military outfits. The photos also featured the first glimpse of T.O.P andJYJ’s Junsu in their military uniforms.

Netizens accuse T.O.P of receiving advantages in the military for being a celebrity

TOP

Netizens are accusing BIGBANG‘s T.O.P of receiving special treatment in the military.

Recently, photos of T.O.P and JYJ‘s Junsu at the training camp were revealed via the official website of the Nonsan army training camp. From these photos, netizens noticed that T.O.P was the only soldier wearing his green name tag on the left side. This is leading to a controversial discussion among netizens.

Celebrities have continuously been accused of getting advantages or “having it easy” during their mandatory military service. Recently, Super Junior‘s Shindong, who got discharged from the military in December, was also accused of receiving celebrity advantages due to his significant weight gain and long hair.

Many netizens, especially male netizens who served, are expressing fury at the sight of T.O.P’s improper outfit. Comments on an online community stated, “If a non-celebrity wore it like that then they would have to run 10 laps…”, “A non-celebrity would’ve got in so much trouble for what he did”, “I can’t believe no one said anything about that when they gathered to take the picture. Even a little mistake like that would’ve caused the entire group to get in trouble”, “They probably let him go since he’s a celebrity. If it was a non-celeb who did that then they would’ve gotten disciplined so bad.”

In response to the controversy, a representative from the army training camp stated, “The 25th regime company 1 division 1 uniform are supposed to have the name tag on the right side. Trainee Choi Seung Hyun must have been confused and mistakenly wore it on the other side.”
