[?????=??? ??] Idol group BIGBANG’s G-DRAGON confessed that he does not have a girlfriend now.

G-DRAGON hosted a private broadcasting on NAVER V-APP on the 2 in the evening, under the theme of “One plus one equals Jiyong-i – Let’s not do anything”.

G-DRAGON began the broadcasting, saying, “This may be the first and last private broadcasting for me. I don’t know what to do.”

G-DRAGON went on to say, “The members suggested that I drink in the broadcasting while talking to fans, but that was not allowed. So, you all know about Face Time, so I wanna do it like a video call with your boyfriend.”

GD said, “I don’t have a girlfriend now. I’ll suppose you don’t have boyfriend, too, and I’ll do it like a video call between you and me. When I have a girlfriend, I act very charming.”

The private broadcasting of BIGBANG members is a surprise present from BIGBANG for fans, for celebration of the ninth anniversary of BIGBANG’s debut. It will be broadcasted total five times on NAVER V-APP during September, on every Wednesday at 11pm.

BIGBANG hosts “V LIVE” for five weeks… Eating at a fan’s home, “unique concept”


[OSEN=??? ??] Global live-streaming video service “NAVER V”’ launches its official Android version on the 2 this month, and BIGBANG’s private broadcasting “V LIVE” will also begin. The official iOS version will be launched in mid-September.

BIGBANG’s “V LIVE” will have different concept for each member, and it will be aired on every Wednesday at 11pm for five weeks from September 2. The first episode is “One Plus One Equals G-Dragon-Let’s Not Do Anything” by BIGBANG’s leader G-DRAGON. G-DRAGON will comfortably communicate with fans just like a video call.

On the 9, TAEYANG’s “TAEYANG’s I’m going now, to eat” with a special concept in which TAEYANG visits the house of a fan who was selected in advance to eat together, will be broadcast, to show the meeting between a star and fan.

Since the launch of the beta-service on July 31 this year, NAVER has focused on the advancement of the technology and stability of service, as a video live-broadcasting service launched in line with the rapid global expansion of its business. NAVER has also made big efforts to secure star line-up and communication for the service. The number of artists included in the line-up was originally 25 including TEEN TOP, Park Bo-Young, and MAMAMOO, but it increased to 47. The accumulated number of video streaming also surpassed 87 million, while the accumulated number of hearts given to the stars by their fans also reached 460 million.

Girls’ Generation have hosted total eight live-broadcast shows under the concept of “Jack-of-All-Trades” and BTS who is on their world tour showed lively live-broadcasting of their concerts in Thailand, Japan, and Hong Kong. FNC Entertainment unveiled the company’s picnic with its artists including FT Island and CNBLUE. Notably, those stars communicated with fans around the world in a friendly manner, in different places such as their dance practice room, their own room, waiting room for their concert, etc.

Recently, the real-time communication between stars such as Joo Won, Park Bo-Young, and Lee Jun-Ki and their fans also drew a big attention. Actor Joo Won who has recently been shooting drama series “Yongpari” unveiled the shooting through “V” broadcasting, and made a promise he will keep when the series reaches high viewership rating. Actress Park Bo-Young also did “V-LIVE” broadcasting in late night, after the end of her recent drama series “Oh My Ghostess”.

Director Jang Jun-Ki (technology fellow) who is in charge of “V”’s video technology said, “Fans from 210 countries around the world are meeting their favorite stars on “V” and the ratio of overseas download is as high as 60%. To enable more seamless and faster communication regardless of time and space, we are now focusing on advanced technology and service stability”.

Park Sun-Young, the head of NAVER’s Entertainment & Lifestyle Center said, “Both participating stars and global users are enjoying the new type of communication through “V” and the pace of growth is good as you can see from statistics. As we’re making a good start, other functions that create good harmony with the V service will be added one by one, to make this service evolve into a globally-recognized one.”

YG does joint game business with China’s Tencent… BIGBANG is the model




[??????=??? ??] YG Entertainment announced on the 1 this month that the company will do a joint game business with China’s biggest Internet and game service company Tencent, based on the partnership between the two companies.

YG decided to do the joint business for “????” directly developed by Tencent Game to draw the biggest attention for the second half of this year. For the partnership, YG’s representative artist BIGBANG will become the exclusive model for the game, to help the collaboration between the two companies. 

“????” is world’s first 5:5 real-time MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena, one of the game genres. World-famous League of Legend fall in this category) mobile game. Even before its official launching, it already took the No.1 on IOS free download ranking without any marketing. As such, it is drawing a keen attention from users from the point of CBT and is officially launched in China on September 1. 

Tencent has actively promoted collaboration with artists, from the development phase of the game, including partnership with BIGBANG IP.

An insider of Tencent game said, “We’re really pleased to work with BIGBANG who is an artist with enormous influence in China. We will present a variety of events by BIGBANG and ‘????’ and we’ve completed the preparation for active on/off-line marketing activities by using Tencent’s own platform.”

An YG insider said, “We have been doing businesses in a variety of fields since we singed strategic partnership with Tencent at the end of last year. This joint game business project is launched as part of those businesses. Starting from ‘????’, YG and Tencent will continue with the collaboration using both company’s game contents and artist IP.”

The collaboration between “????” and BIGBANG will be presented in different forms in Tencent’s new marketing activities, in the form of in-game items, events, and promotions. Large-scale marketing will be carried out on different platforms owned by Tencent.

[Idolator Interview] BIGBANG On Their Reunion, World Tour & New Album ‘MADE’

Whether you’re a K-pop aficionado or not, chances are you’ve at least heard of BIGBANG. With over 1.5 billion YouTube views, collaborations with Diploand Skrillex under their belt, and celebrity super-fans that include Emma Stone and Pharrell Williams, the quintet is the biggest K-pop band on the planet.

After taking a three-year hiatus to tour and work on solo projects, BIGBANG reunited in May to begin promotion for their third full-length album MADE (due October 20) — an epic project consisting of at least eight (!!!) singles and a world tour that’s set to hit the states later this year. I interviewed the boys earlier this summer and asked about their long-awaited return, unique promotional strategy and the sexuality in hit single “Bae Bae.”



You’re currently in the middle of promoting your new album MADE. What’s it like being back together after promoting as soloists and sub-units for so long?
We’re all so happy to be back together making music and promoting as a group after three years, and we’re driven more than ever. Since the fans have been waiting so long to see BIGBANG come back together as a group, we really want to present them with the best music and performances so that all their waiting is worthwhile.

Most Korean artists only promote one single per album, but for your last LP Alive, you promoted three. For MADE, you’re promoting EVERY track as an official single. Why have you taken this unique approach?
Since we are finally coming back together and meeting our fans as a group for the first time in three years, rather than following the existing promotional method we wanted to actively promote in a way that would allow us to meet with our fans for a longer period of time. We actually used this unconventional promotional method when we first debuted.

We chose this approach again because we really put a lot of effort into each and every one of our songs and we wanted to introduce them individually so that each track could be thoroughly enjoyed in its own time. Releasing our songs in this staggered manner is also our way of showing our thanks to our fans who have waited so patiently for BIGBANG to return.

Every single that I’ve heard from MADE has been unique — no two singles look or sound alike. Was it a conscious effort on your part to make everything as diverse as possible?
It’s not necessarily that we pre-determined from the start to produce songs that each have its own unique style. In general, the kind of music we like and pursue doesn’t all fit into one category or genre. And since we enjoy and attempt so many diverse styles and genres, each single just organically resulted in having its own unique sound and style.

“Bae Bae” is my favorite new song, but I was surprised by how sexual the lyrics and video are. Did you ever worry about how people might react to seeing this image from BIGBANG?
No, we weren’t worried. Rather, we just enjoyed ourselves and had a lot of fun while working on the song. Of course there may be some who found the lyrics and MV sexual, but we just had an enjoyable and great time working on the song and filming the MV. Even amongst fans, there were a lot of favorable reviews saying that the lyrics and MV concept were a lot of fun.



Since coming back you’ve faced strong competition from other top artists, but your new songs have still managed to reach number one. Why do you think you’ve been able to remain so successful for all these years?
A lot of it has to do with our amazing fans, who are constantly supporting us in all our musical endeavors. We are always trying to create music that highlights our strengths like our unique style, and we believe that’s why we receive unwavering love and support from our fans.

You’ve performed overseas many times before, and your upcoming MADE world tour is coming to America and Canada. What’s the biggest difference between performing for Asian audiences and Western audiences?
Basically, there isn’t really a big difference between meeting and performing for Asian audiences versus Western audiences. They all share the underlying trait that they are fans of BIGBANG and of our performances and they show up to our concerts for those reasons. The only main difference really is the default language. Obviously, depending on where we are we have to adjust in order to communicate with the fans.



I know you’ll be busy promoting MADE and going on tour, but do you have plans for more solo projects next year? Seungri’s solo albums are my favorite, so I’m hoping that he will make a third album!
As of now our plans for next year are undecided. For now we just want to focus all of our efforts on the upcoming MADE promotions and world tour.

BIGBANG Wraps Up Record-Breaking Chinese Leg of “MADE” Tour

BIGBANG has successfully wrapped up the Chinese leg of their extensive world tour “MADE,” breaking records by becoming the first-ever Korean artist to hold shows in 11 Chinese cities.

After kicking off the tour in Guangzhou last spring, the five-member group continued on to greet enthusiastic fans in Beijing, Shanghai, Dalian, Wuhan, Shenzhen, Nanjing, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Changsha. The tour finale took place on August 30 in Chongqing, marking the end of BIGBANG’s three-month adventure across China that attracted an impressive total of 180,000 fans.

According to reports, Chongqing and the local subway were flooded with fans of BIGBANG, all excited to ir favorite idols up close and attend the final show. BIGBANG got their fans’ heartbeats up by opening the concert with the explosive “BANG BANG BANG,” and followed up with a selection of their other hits, including “Tonight” and “Stupid Liar.”

Making the leg finale a tad bit more special, fans surprised their idols by performing coordinated chants and moves during certain songs. For example, the audience turned into a sea of pink as fans switched on their glow sticks during “BAE BAE,” and everyone directed their flashing smartphone screens towards the stage during “If You.”

Meanwhile, BIGBANG will take a short break from activities before hitting Taiwan this month and the United States, Mexico, Canada, Australia, and Macau in October, followed by the tour’s final leg in Japan this winter.

The GD & TAEYANG episode of “Refrigerator” show recorded 12.3%, the highest-ever viewership rating


[OSEN=??? ??] JTBC’s food talk show “Please Take Care of My Refrigerator” achieved the 10% mark for its viewership ratings.

The 42nd episode of “Please Take Care of My Refrigerator” show aired on the 31 last month recorded 10.04% of viewership rating. The highest minutely rating even recorded 12.3%. The highest viewership rating recorded by the show until August 31 was 8.2% for the 36th episode in which BoA appeared.

In the episode aired on August 31, BIGBANG’s G-DRAGON and TAEYANG appeared as the guests to disclose their refrigerators. TAEYANG’s refrigerator was filled with traditional food stuffs, unlike his dandy image. The MCs of the show were surprised by the ingredients they discovered in TAEYANG’s fridge, saying, “You were born in 1988 but seeing what’s in your fridge, it seems that you’re the class of 1988. With the food stuffs from TAEYANG’s fridge, chef Oh Se-Deuk and Lee Won-Il competed to make “organic cold dish”, and chef Choi Hyun-Seok and Sam Kim competed for “organic hot dish”.

Meanwhile, “Please Take Care of My Refrigerator” show aired for the first time on November 17 last year took the third place in the survey of “Koreans’ Favorite TV Shows” (August) announced by Korea Gallop. The show was also selected as “Koreans’ best cooking show”, proving its high popularity.

“Please Take Care of My Refrigerator” show is loved by viewers for the perfect harmony and chemistry between MC Kim Seong-Joo and and Jung Hyung-Don as well as guests’ realistic fridges and thrilling cooking competition among chefs. It is aired on every Monday at 9:40pm.

From “The Infinite Challenge” to “My Refrigerator”… Who else fell for GD as “TV entertainer”?


[OSEN=??? ??] BIGBANG’s G-DRAGON has captivated not only Korea but also the entire world with his charisma on the stage, which overwhelms the audience. However, G-DRAGON is recently showing off his hidden wits in TV shows. TV viewers have fallen for the new and fresh appeal of G-DRAGON as a “TV entertainer”.

G-DARGON appeared in JTBC’s “Please Take Care of My Refrigerator” show aired on the 31 last month with BIGBANG’s another member TAEYANG. GD decided to appear in the show at the provocation of MC Jung Hyeong-Don who introduced himself as “G-DRAGON’s elder brother”, saying, “GD you have to appear in our show if you want to make any complaint”. From the very opening, the “bromance” between the two stood out.

After the introduction of guests, TAEYANG and G-DRAGON walked toward the stage and Jung Hyeong-Don gave his back to GD, suggesting that he will hold GD on his back. GD recognized what Jung meant and the scene of Jung holding GD made viewers wear a satisfied smile.

Soon however, the tension between the two began. G-DRAGON introduced himself as “G-DRAGON’s ex”, and Jung said, “G-DRAGON is not a genius but a hard-worker. I think his fashion today is so-so”. To Jung’s question “Did you decide to finally appear in our show because I was so funny?”, GD answered, “Who is Jung? I decided to appear in this show just because the program itself is funny”.

The “hilarious chemistry” between the two began like this. After TAEYANG criticized that G-DRAGON has a big mouth, Jung made full use of that. Every time when a suspicious stuff was discovered in TAEYANG’s refrigerator, Jung looked at GD’s mouth.

Notably, when rubber gloves and a tomato were discovered in the refrigerator out of the blue, Jung asked G-DRAGON to write down where they came from, wearing a suggestive smile. G-DRAGON did not hesitate to pick up the pen, making TAEYANG nervous. The Jung-GD combi was the largest contributor for the fun of the day’s episode of “Please Take Care of My Refrigerator” show.

G-DRAGON’s talent in entertainment TV shows has long been proven. Recently, such a talent all the more stood out when he performed in MBC TV’s “The Infinite Challenge”. Since 2011, GD has performed in the music festival of “The Infinite Challenge” every two years, performing with Park Myeong-Soo, Jung Hyeong-Don, and Hwang Kwang-Hee to make the show funnier and richer.

In JTBC’s “Please Take Care of My Refrigerator” show aired on August 31, BIGBANG’s G-DRAGON and TAEYANG appeared as guests together. It was the first-ever appearance of an YG artists in a TV show of a non-terrestrial broadcaster, so the two’s appearance in the show drew big attention from early on. According to insiders, GD and TAEYANG themselves strongly wanted to appear in the show, as they are big fans of it. In last week’s episode of the show, Hong Seok-Cheon, one of the chefs of the show, said, “BIGBANG’s G-DRAGON and TAEYANG are big fans of ‘Please Take Care of My Refrigerator’ show. They really wanna appear in this show.”

As the two are the members of “world-class” idol group BIGBANG, they boasted “world-class” wits in the show. In the opening part, MC Jung Hyeong-Don introduced G-DRAGON and TAEYANG who are the most famous fashionistas in Korea’s entertainment scene by saying “Now they have really come.
