201506220804777263_5587437b96525_99_20150622080707
[OSEN=??? ??] BIGBANG has successfully rounded off the Shanghai concert of their world tour “BIGBANG 2015 WORLD TOUR ‘MADE’”.

The concert was held at Mercedes Benz Arena in Shanghai, China, from the 19 to 21 this month, attracted total 30,000 fans, 10,000 for each, to prove local fans’ big support for the team.

BIGBANG held the concert three years after their first concert at Mercedes Benz Arena in “ALIVE WORLD TOUR” in 2012. Only one concert was held in 2012, but three concerts were held this time for three days, showing BIGBANG’s heightened status in China. Notably, BIGBANG drew all the more attention as they are the first-ever non-Chinese singer who has held three concerts in a row at Shanghai Arena.

BIGBANG has already boasted a big ticket power in China by selling out the tickets for their Guangzhou, Beijing, and Hong Kong concert. This time, Mercedes Benz Arena was filled with the color of gold, which is the official color for cheering rods for BIGBANG, and every corner of the hall all the way up to the fifth floor was crowded with fans.

BIGBANG caught the eyes of the fans by coming upon the stage in bold hair styles in different colors and camouflage costumes that go well with the characters of each member. They kicked off the concert with new song “BANG BANG BANG”. When the powerful cowboy dance and stable live-performance of “BANG BANG BANG” began, 10,000 people of the audience stood up from their seats to enjoy all together.

BIGBANG electrified the audience with their powerful performances of long-time hit songs such as “BANG BANG BANG”, “TONIGHT”, “HOW GEE”, “HARU HARU”, “LIE”, as well as new songs including “LOSER”, “BAE BAE”, “WE LIKE 2 PARTY” that began the “MADE” series. The fancy performances made Chinese fans not able to sit down even for a second during the entire two-hour-long concert.

Moving from the success of the Shanghai concert, BIGBANG will continue with their China tour on the 26 and 28 in Dalian and Wuhan. BIGBANG has been performing for their new songs and having their world tour in “MADE SERIES”, and will meet 1.4 million fans around the world by holding 70 concerts in 15 countries including the United States and Canada, and other countries, too.

Plus, they have been enjoying an explosive popularity world-wide with new song “BANG BANG BANG” and “WE LIKE 2 PARTY” released in June, taking the No.1 on the music chart of Korea, China, and Japan, as well as on the iTunes chart of 11 countries. In July, they will release new summer songs once again, to entertain global music fans.

[PEOPLE IS] GD Spends Half His Life as “Artist”

htm_20150620101241c010c011_99_20150620101403
[?????=??? ??] GD has been in the entertainment world for 15 years. Before making a debut as BIGBANG, he released an album in 2001 and many already know that he was the little boy Roo’Ra.

He lived half of his life as an “artist.” Since he was little he had a clear idea about what he wanted to be and he knew the direction. This is why GD is so confident now.

On June 18 he appeared on JTBC’s Newsroom and expressed his ideas so clearly and logically despite anchor Sohn Suk Hee asking him sharp questions. When asked “You are competing against idol groups like EXO and SHINee, but what sets BIGBANG apart?”, he answered, “We create our own. The fact that we produce our own music is our huge advantage. That’s what makes us confident.” His modest but firm answers even left Sohn impressed.

YG Entertainment’s Executive Producer YANG HYUN SUK unveiled a photo of GD when he was 14 on his social media on June 19. In the photo, the young GD grabs your attention instantly with his hip-hop hairstyle. He does not look that different to he does now, but his naïve smile is certainly captivating.

YANG would be the happiest to know about the popularity of BIGBANG. YANG did not hold back on supporting GD since he was very little. YANG uploading a young GD photo would be a sign of all the overwhelming emotions he has for GD.

As the member of BIGBANG, as a solo artist and as an artist, GD is attracting much attention from all around the globe. He makes his own music and shows much interest in fashion and art as well. He is friends with famous celebrities around the world and has rose to global stardom. GD showed much of his musical talents as the leader of BIGBANG and he is still dubbed “idol” and “musician” at the same time. Apart from this, he also has an amazing eye for fashion, which led him to an opportunity to meet with Chanel’s Karl Lagerfeld. He is also known as a fashionista across the world.

Recently he launched the exhibition “PEACEMINUSONE: Beyond the Stage” at the Seoul Museum of Art. He commented, “I have great interests in fashion and art. People may not like the fact that I am being involved in the art world, but I hope I can help art become more approachable to the public.” So it is no wonder that many people are curious to see where his future is directed to, with so many challenges he takes on.

Meanwhile, BIGANG’s music video of “BANG BANG BANG” hit 20 million views in just 19 days of its revelation.

13-Year-Old Hip-Hop Boy GD, 15 Years Later [Sohn Nam Won’s Observation]

201506200825779099_5584abf37ef82_99_20150620091504

[OSEN=??? ??] G-DRAGON. Actual name Kwon Ji Yong. People call him GD.

*GD Entails 7 Different Colors

It is a little fuzzy on the rules when it comes to categorizing GD. The world is jealous of his talents and does not let GD just focus on one. Let’s say he is expanding his realm of expertise by composing and producing songs. But he is also invited to Paris Fashion Week every year and he even launched an exhibition with 12 artists at the Seoul Museum of Art. He is even a talented entertainer on variety programs like “Infinite Challenge” and “Running Man.”

1. He a leader of BIGBANG, a group that stands at the top of the music world for nearly 10 years

2. He is a wealthy producer who builds his fortune on copyright fees every year.

3. He is a fashionista even loved by the fashion circle in Paris.

4. He is an artist who holds an exhibition under collaboration with contemporary artists.

5. He is a solo artist capable of holding World Tours on his own.

6. He is a designer who makes and designs his own stage outfits.

7. He is an actor-in-practice through a number of music videos and programs.

*From a naïve boy to a rebel, from a gentleman to a rapper

On June 19 YG’s Executive Producer YANG HYUN SUK uploaded a photo of a 13-year-old GD on his Instagram. A boy in a reggae hairstyle smiles and the camera naively. It has been 15 years since that photo was taken. GD’s daily life is unveiled everyday through social media and reports. Sometimes his no-makeup and unshaven photos shock people while he takes that all away in an instant with other photos with a dynamic fashion sense, colors and accessories. Colin Firth in the film Kingsman even says, “Manners maketh man.” GD’s suit fashion even impresses English gentlemen. Is GD a chameleon?

* GD Talks about Kwon Ji Yong

On June 18 GD appeared on JTBC’s Newsroom and conversed with anchor Sohn Suk Hee. It is very unusual for an idol group member to appear on a famous news show. When asked what sets BIGBANG apart from other idol groups like EXO and SHINee, GD answered, “We make our own songs and that’s what is appealing to the public.” GD is always so confident. That’s what makes it even more appealing. Sohn joked, “This might make EXO fans angry,” and GD commented, “I can’t help it. It’s true.”

“I have confident for music. We released an album for the first time in a while, and we wanted to gift our fans with something special since they had been waiting for so long. We think 5 years or 10 years into our future. Getting involved in the field of art is like an extension of that thought.” (Press conference of PEACEMINUSONE)

“Instead of being greedy in one song to be the most appealing one, we talked about the harmony between all the members. How they sing, what they represent, they all matter. Instead of trying to hard to show something special, we tried to be natural. In the past we would go in the booth and sing while reading the lyrics, but now we memorize the lyrics, go in the booth with the lights off, and then try to think of the lyrics while we sing.” (OSEN Interview, just before the comeback on May 1)

* Wrapping Up…

GD is still growing. He himself is curious about where his future is taking him, but the fans also want to know which path he will be taking form here. Kwon Ji Yong comments, “10 years since the debut of BIGBANG has been short, or it could be long, but we are at a point where we can pick just our advantages and create songs. We shouldn’t try too hard to create good music. Our songs should hold something more significant than that, something that is meaningful for us. We want people to have imaginative minds when they listen to our music.”

He certainly reached nirvana.

BIGBANG Reveals Playful Making Video of “BANG BANG BANG” MV

On June 19, YG Entertainment uploaded the making video of BIGBANG‘s “BANG BANG BANG” music video through Naver TV Cast, as a part of its “MADE DIARY with NAVER” project.

This project will continue to give sneak peeks of BIGBANG’s “MADE” album as well as information about their world tour.

Unlike the actual music video, BIGBANG members seem very playful and the atmosphere seems very light in the making clip. They even start doing Yoo Jae Suk‘s signature “grasshopper” dance and have fun playing around with each other.

When the time comes to film their individual takes, however, they turn serious and exemplify their professionalism in front of the camera.

Anchor Sohn Tells G-Dragon to Never Lose His Flair Even After Military Enlistment

Anchor Sohn Suk Hee had G-Dragon on as a guest for the June 18 broadcast of JTBC‘s “News Room.”

Their conversation covered mainly G-Dragon’s recent ventures into the art space.

Despite it being his first time ever on a news program, G-Dragon, though a bit nervous, did a great job of holding his own, even when he was caught off guard by a question from Sohn Suk Hee about when he plans to enlist in the military. “I’ll go when the time is right,” G-Dragon said cautiously, to which Sohn Suk Hee replied, “I have one thing I request from you. Even after completing your military service, please don’t lose your flair.”

Scratching his head but smiling, G-Dragon replied, “I won’t lose it.”

On JTBC’s Newsroom aired on June 18, GD was interviewed by anchor Sohn Suk Hee.

About art becoming commercialized through his exhibition, GD commented, “I am concerned but I don’t think commercialization is bad. I am still young and have plenty of time to develop. It’s similar to wanting to show my friends pretty and yummy things. I want to make art more approachable for the public.”

Sohn commented, “You thought a lot about this issue.”

BIGBANG is currently releasing a new album every month from May to August, and along with this, GD is holding an exhibition at Seoul Museum of Art with artists home and aboard to display artwork based on collaboration.
