[OSEN=??? ??] BIGBANG in July is expected to be sorrowful but fun at the same time.

The two title tracks for BIGBANG’s third album, “D”, of the MADE SERIES have been unveiled: “if you” and “SOBER.”

The announcement was made over 2 days on YG’s official blog on June 27 and 28.

“if you” is written and composed by GD, while PK who wrote BIGBANG’s “MONSTER,” and TEDDY and Dee.P who co-wrote TAEYANG’s “EYES, NOSE, LIPS” rearranged the track together.

With the light pinkish poster, the track “if you” is said to be a sentimental song. YG’s Executive Producer YANG HYUN SUK told OSEN during his interview that this is the saddest song out of all BIGBANG’s songs, which heightened expectations.

But “SOBER” is completely different. Unlike the sentimental poster of “if you,” the poster for this track features the five members dressed in minty suits running toward a pull-up bar in a field.

“SOBER” is an upbeat song perfect for summer, and as the two tracks are situated at both ends of the spectrum, fans are even more excited. This is BIGBANG’s first summer song in 7 years since they released “HARU HARU” in August 2008 as apart of their 3rd mini album.

The poster of “SOBER” also unveils the producers involved. TEDDY, GD and T.O.P wrote the song while TEDDY, GD and CHOICE37 composed.

“LOSER” and “BAE BAE” from album “A” and “BANG BANG BANG” and “WE LIKE 2 PARTY” from album “M” have dominated the South Korean music industry in the full months of May and June. BIGBANG was the first South Korean artist to occupy the top two slots on Billboard’s World Digital Songs, proving borderless popularity.

While BIGBANG is gearing up for a return with their third single album, a “BIGBANG COUNTDOWN LIVE MADE SERIES Interim Check!” will be conducted at 11pm on June 30 through Naver. BIGBANG held a similar event for the release of their 2nd single album on June 1 with the fans. Now as they are already getting ready for the third, and this “interim check” is to inspect their current performance. There is a session where fans are able to comment on themes each member could take if they were to be in charge of a TV program individually, and BIGBANG will answer or respond to those comments personally. This will be a great source of entertainment for the fans.

Meanwhile, BIGBANG will be in China’s Wuhan on June 28 for their World Tour “MADE.”

“I listened to the song and tears welled up. It is most likely the saddest song of all BIGBANG’s songs in the last 9 years. I am in my 40’s and I was moved significantly, so I am sure listeners in their teens or 20’s, or others, will find it very sentimental. I think it’s the first time that I am more excited about the release than BIGBANG is.”

This was a comment made by YG’s executive producer, YANG HYUN SUK, on BIGBANG’s upcoming “if you” to be released on July 1. He assured that this will be the “saddest song” of all and also explained with his thumb up that this is his “favorite” out of all the songs in the album. He stressed that this is of course his personal opinion. “When a producer assures himself that he knows what the public likes, that’s the most relentless and dangerous assurance.”

On its official blog at 0 hour of June 27, YG uploaded a teaser poster for one of the two title tracks, “if you.” With a fading pink in the background, the five members are looking sorrowful. Their expressions are filled with sadness. The teaser itself is already sad, and if the song is actually as sad as YANG says, many listeners will surely end up crying.

YANG added, “It’s a little odd that they are releasing a sad song in this upbeat summer? I liked other songs in the MADE album, but if the public can feel what I felt listening to this song, then this is the right timing.”

BIGBANG is gearing up to set off the third dynamite of 2015. This is the third of their MADE project. A total of two new tracks will be unveiled. One is this aforementioned sad track, while the other one is fun and upbeat for summer. Now another BIGBANG vs BIGBANG battle is to be held.



According to YG’s personnel, there has been some contemplation on delaying the release date due to BIGBANG’s extremely tight schedule for the World Tour and TV programs. However, YANG emphasized that “it is important to keep the promise with the fans, as promise is a promise,” deciding to release the tracks on the originally planned date.

“LOSER,” “BAE BAE”, “BANG BANG BANG,” and “WE LIKE 2 PARTY” were the first 4 unveiled of the MADE SERIES, and the four very different tracks have garnered much popularity. So it is no surprise that anticipation is building up for the upcoming tracks.

YANG commented, “The two tracks in July are completely different from each other, as one is upbeat and one is sentimental. ‘if you’ is a ballad, where rappers GD and T.O.P will also be singing. It will be new to the fans as well.”

BIGBANG’s MADE project is going very smoothly like everyone had expected. “LOSER” unveiled last month occupied the top slot for almost a month while June’s “BANG BANG BANG” is doing the same. The four music videos unveiled in May and June have already attracted a whopping 100 million views.

Their power cuts across music programs as well. “LOSER” won a whopping 10 trophies while “BANG BANG BANG” won another one on M Countdown aired through Mnet on June 25. They broke the record for winning the highest number of trophies on the show.

Meanwhile, BIGBANG was in Shanghai for their concert from June 19 to 21, performing for the 30,000 enthusiastic local fans. Their hugely successful concert will be followed by two concerts in Dalian on June 26 and Wuhan on 28.

Yang Hyun Sukisn't an easy man to please, but he only had good things to say aboutBIGBANG's upcoming track "If You"!

He said, "When I was listening to the song, there was a moment when my heart [skipped a beat]. It's the saddest song BIGBANG has released since their debut for the past 9 years. If I, who's in his mid-40s feels this emotional, people in their teens and 20s who like BIGBANG will definitely shed tears together, in my opinion. I think it's the first time I feel more excited about releasing the song than BIGBANG."

He added, "It's the track I like most in this album." 

But apparently that may not be a good thing? Yang Hyun Suk added, "When a producer thinks he/she knows the public's tastes well and is confident, that's the most dangerous and reckless moment."

He also added, "It's weird that a sad and slow song is coming out in the hot summer, isn't it? I liked the previously released songs from their 'MADE' album, but if others are able to feel the same emotions I felt [while listening to this song], I think this is the right time to release 'If You'."

Some of the agency staff worried that BIGBANG might be too busy with new songs released every month and their world tour and individual activities, that they suggested holding off on the upcoming new song releases. However Yang Hyun Suk reasoned,"Keeping the promise made to fans comes first. Because a promise is a promise." So it seems we will be getting all those songs on schedule as promised with no delay!
