Seungri Suspected Of Removing Evidence On His Instagram Regarding His Ties To The Police

Mar 19, 2019

Seungri has been suspected of deleting evidence on his phone connecting him to the police.

On March 18, TV Chosun’s “Current Events Show: This Is Politics” (literal title) reported that Seungri is currently being suspected of concealing evidence by recently deleting photos of himself in police uniform.

Commentator Go Sung Kook stated, “From what I’m aware of, [the fact that he deleted the photos] can be verified by the National Scientific, Criminal & Investigation Laboratory. It won’t be difficult for them to find out whose name is on that name tag. They just need to investigate it.”

Seungri uploaded the photos of himself in police uniform and the caption “Salute” in an Instagram post on November 25, 2014. On September 12 of the same year, Seungri was involved in a car accident on the Gangbyeon Expressway. At the time, he was under suspicion of driving under the influence, but the accident was reported to have occurred because of speeding.

The singer has been suspected of concealing evidence as the timing of his upload of the photos and deleting the photos lines up with his being suspected of driving drunk and his ties to the police, respectively. Some are even beginning to wonder if the police uniform belongs to Senior Superintendent Yoon, the police officer suspected of misusing his position to cover up criminal activity in the chatroom controversy.

In response, Senior Superintendent Yoon stated, “I didn’t know Seungri in 2014, and I didn’t even know the group BIGBANG. I will hold responsible those who report on speculations, without even confirming with the involved parties, for defamation.”

Traces Of BIGBANG And YG Removed From Seungri’s Official Naver Profile

Mar 19, 2019

Any indications of YG Entertainment and BIGBANG have been removed from Seungri’s official profile on Naver.

The former BIGBANG member announced his retirement from the entertainment industry on March 11 through an Instagram post. Prior to his announcement, he was swept up in various controversies including the Burning Sun assault case as well as numerous allegations of drug use, corrupt ties with the police, and the arrangement of sexual escort services to entertain investors. On March 13, YG Entertainment confirmed that the agency had terminated its contract with Seungri.

As of March 19, Seungri’s profile on Naver is devoid of any traces of his time in BIGBANG and YG. Not only can users no longer find YG-related information in the debut section of his profile, but all of his history as a BIGBANG member and links to the group’s YouTube, Weibo, Facebook, and Instagram accounts are also no longer present. However, his profile on other Korean search engines still show links to BIGBANG.

BIGBANG’s profile on Naver has also removed Seungri from the member lineup, only showing the four remaining members.

Jung Joon Young, another celebrity at the center of the chatroom controversy, also has his agency information and debut date deleted from his profile. Former FTISLAND member Choi Jong Hoon previously announced his retirement from the entertainment industry, but his agency is still listed as FNC Entertainment.

MMA To Amend Law To Prevent Suspects From Escaping To Army + Seungri Submits Request To Delay Enlistment

Mar 18, 2019

Seungri has officially requested to postpone his military enlistment, and the Military Manpower Administration plans to make an amendment to the law to prevent people from enlisting as a way of escaping from unfavorable situations in life.

On the morning of March 18, at the plenary session of the National Defense Committee, Commissioner Ki Chan Soo of the Military Manpower Administration responded to a question about what would happen if Seungri does not request to delay his enlistment. The session was held before Seungri submitted the request.

He stated, “The National Defense Committee does not have the legal power to postpone his enlistment. Using this case as a lesson, we are planning to make an amendment to the law to allow the Military Manpower Administration to postpone one’s enlistment if one causes a societal uproar, enlists for the purpose of escaping from reality, or if there is a request from an investigative authority to delay the enlistment. We are sorry that we did not come up with such measures despite having had similar cases in the past. Following this incident, we will make sure to revise the law.”

Jung Kyung Doo, the Minister of National Defense, stated, “[Currently], If one is indicted by the prosecution, there are legal grounds to delay their enlistment, but because [that is not the case], we cannot [postpone Seungri’s enlistment]. [If he enlists], we will cooperate with the police to allow for a thorough investigation that abides by the law.”

Previously on March 15, Seungri announced his plans to postpone his enlistment. On the afternoon of March 18, his lawyer Son Byung Ho confirmed, “Seungri submitted a request to delay his enlistment today. We are hoping the Military Manpower Administration will grant the request.”

Meanwhile, the Center for Military Human Rights Korea is pressing for the postponement of Seungri’s enlistment. They stated, “When a case that involves several people is investigated by two entities (the military and the police), it becomes more difficult for the investigation to be handled properly. Because Seungri will stand trial alone at a military court, it is hard to ensure that the decision made will be consistent with those of the other suspects. The military service is not a prison sentence. It is an insult to the nation’s soldiers who are serving their country to consider enlistment as a means of self-reflection and atonement.”

He said, “It’s difficult to state the concrete details as of now, but we have obtained a testimony that holds significant meaning for the suspicions we have. Further Allegations Made Against Seungri Regarding Prostitution Services And Tax Evasion

Further Allegations Made Against Seungri Regarding Prostitution Services And Tax Evasion

Further Allegations Made Against Seungri Regarding Prostitution Services And Tax Evasion

Mar 15, 2019

On March 15, Channel A’s “News A” reported that they received information about a tip the police received containing allegations against Seungri for providing prostitution services.

According to “News A,” the informant is a prominent business figure in Gangnam who has watched Seungri’s activities from close by. The informant stated that when officials from Japanese construction company “K” visited Korea, Seungri entertained them at Burning Sun. He also allegedly sent Korean women to Japan for the purpose of prostitution.

The tip also states the exact price of sending the women overseas. In response to the report, a source from Seungri’s team stated, “That never happened. He’s just friends with the CEO of company ‘K,'” and denied the allegations.

“News A” also reported that Seungri is under suspicion of tax evasion. In 2016, Seungri founded the company BC Holdings with Yoo In Suk, the CEO of Yuri Holdings at the time, after which they invested more than 30 billion won (approximately $26.5 million) in companies, including Korean fund management company Peregrine Investments.

They then purchased ready-mixed concrete companies, invested in Vietnamese corporations, and expanded their business. The National Tax Service focused on the origin of the 30 billion won (approximately $26.5 million) and began internal investigations as to how a new company like BC Holdings with capital of just 50,000 won (approximately $44) raised funds of over 30 billion won.

As allegations continue to surface against Seungri, the singer has announced that he’ll request to delay his impending military enlistment and fully cooperate with ongoing investigations.

On top of his KakaoTalk group chatroom controversy where illegal clips of women were shared with Jung Joon Young, Choi Jong Hoon, and others, Seungri is also facing accusations of gambling overseas and providing sexual escort services to business partners.
