Exclusive: BIGBANG’s Seungri Pulls Off A Successful Show At “The Great Seungri Tour 2019” In Singapore

Feb 24, 2019

Seungri returns with a bang! The youngest member of BIGBANG first started his solo tour last summer and finally greeted VIPs in Singapore at his recent “The Great Seungri Tour 2019” held in Star Theatre on February 23. This was Seungri’s return to Singapore in almost three years after BIGBANG’s “MADE Tour” in 2016.

When the houselights went dim, VIPs immediately got on their feet as Seungri kick-started the show with “Bang Bang Bang” and “Let’s Talk About Love.” Before he started addressing the crowd, Seungri held an Elvis Presley-like pose for five seconds and had the crowd echo “Ay-Oh!” (reference from Queen) — befitting to his solo tour.

Seungri greeted VIPs with a local accent and claimed that he was the best Korean artist who can imitate the Singaporean accent. However, if G-Dragon was around, he wouldn’t be allowed to speak in that manner (he never forgets to include a Tom and Jerry moment). Seungri continued to brag about his ability to speak multiple languages (Japanese, Mandarin, Cantonese) and showed his multilingual talent with a rendition of one of Jay Chou’s (popular Taiwanese artist) hits, “The Longest Movie.” He had the crowd go wild with a series of upbeat performances of “GG BE,” “Gotta Talk to U,” “Alone,” “Where Are You From,” and “Hotline.”

As the only active member of BIGBANG while the rest fulfill their military duties, he never fails to mention the group and took the opportunity to show some photos that the members wouldn’t approve of if they had been with him on stage. He sneakily shared the photos saying, “If you do a Google search of BIGBANG, these photos would appear.” Just imagine: Daesung’s nose that looks similar to a baboon’s, G-Dragon’s famous blond hair that looks like tamagoyaki (Japanese egg roll) and Taeyang’s kimbap (Korean sushi roll) hairstyle. He even commented that he did not dare eat tamagoyaki after seeing G-Dragon’s photo and had the crowd laughing their heads off.

The next segment definitely tugged VIPs’ heartstrings as Seungri took them down memory lane. He made the crowd go crazy with a series of BIGBANG’s hits including “We Like 2 Party,” “Heaven,” “Hands Up,” “Lies,” “Crooked,” “Good Boy” and “Bae Bae.” Seungri shared that BIGBANG spent 13 years together, released more than 200 songs and performed more than 500 shows worldwide. He then took a moment to get VIPs to turn on the flashlights on their mobile phones, and the audience became a sea of light. Seungri touched VIPs’ hearts with his comment, “BIGBANG shines like the light you see right now because of all of you. Keep shining until we are back!” and sang his heart out to “Eyes, Nose, Lips” and “Flower Road” while showing snippets of BIGBANG’s concerts from the past.

The evening ended with his recent solo track “1,2,3!” and an encore performance of “Strong Baby,” “Fantastic Baby,” and “In My World.” Seungri thanked VIPs for coming and made a promise to return to Singapore soon. He reassured fans that he will safely fulfill his military duties and that the other members are doing well. Seungri lightened the mood and made a commitment that he will not put on more weight or “be uglier than this” while serving the nation.

Seungri was personable and lighthearted and constantly interacted with his fans during “The Great Seungri Tour 2019” in Singapore. It was definitely an evening that VIPs would remember. He will continue his great tour in Asia as he heads to Osaka, followed by Jakarta. Seungri is expected to fulfill his mandatory military service soon after he completes his solo tour.

Special thanks to C K Star Entertainment for having us and providing photos!

Just like the plot of “Where Stars Land,” we’ve all happened to run into a familiar face. Sometimes, that person re-entering your life becomes more than just a coincidence and more of a fated reunion that wakes a spark within your heart.

9. DAY6 – “I Like You”

Confessing your feelings to your crush can be quite challenging, but maybe it could be less awkward if done through a song, like this one right here!

BIGBANG’s Seungri Opens Up About Burning Sun Controversy + Sincerely Apologizes To Fans At Concert

Feb 16, 2019

BIGBANG’s Seungri began his “Seungri 1st Solo Tour The Great Seungri Final in Seoul” concert on February 16 with a sincere apology to fans regarding the recent controversy surrounding the club Burning Sun.

In January, an incident involving physical violence occurred at Burning Sun, a club that was linked to Seungri’s name as the owner had brought him on as a consultant. The incident soon grew into a controversy as claims of sexual assault, hidden cameras, and drug usage began to emerge, all of which are currently under investigation by the police. YG Entertainment’s Yang Hyun Suk and Seungri himself released official statements regarding the matter, and then Burning Sun’s CEO stepped forward to apologize. It was stated that Seungri had never gotten involved in the management side of the club, and was only there as a consultant.

Before his concert started on February 16, Seungri decided to open up about the issue and apologize to fans. He began by stating, “I wish to speak about the recent controversy. I feel like if I don’t, the people who have come today will feel uncomfortable. I am very apologetic to all those who care for me. I’m sorry for causing disappointment for so many people, and I am reflecting on what has happened.”

He continued to state, “Despite there being a controversy, I did not act in a responsible manner. Despite the fact that the controversy took place in a location that I have publicly spoken about, I did not act in a responsible way and for that, I am ashamed and regretful. It is all due to my negligence.”

Seungri said, “As I am a celebrity, I will think and act more carefully from now on. I want to apologize for not showing modesty and for acting carelessly. For the past year, I have been doing my best to bring you all happiness. But I have brought you disappointment, and for that, I am ashamed. I want to apologize once again, and I will take all of your words to heart.”

He finished with a promise that he will do his best during the concert. He said, “I’ve put a lot of preparation into this. I will be grateful if you can enjoy the concert. I think that would make me feel like all my work was worth it.”

Seungri is currently on what will be his last tour before he enlists in the military. He has already met with fans in Hong Kong, Manila, and Tokyo, and following the concert in Seoul, he will be traveling to Singapore, Osaka, and Jakarta to meet with fans.

BIGBANG’s Seungri Responds To Photo Of Him With Former Club Employee Suspected Of Dealing Drugs

Feb 14, 2019

February 13, BIGBANG’s Seungri spoke to media in response to a photo that has been circulating online of him and a woman at the club Burning Sun.

The woman, according to reports, is Chinese, goes by the nickname “Aena,” and is currently under suspicion of dealing drugs at Burning Sun while working there as an MD. The photo in question is from the woman’s social media, which she posted in October 2018 with the caption, “You have to work hard if you want a photo with CEO Seungri. Doing a lot after getting drunk this week.”

In response to the photo, Seungri said he does not know who the woman is. “I was at the club and she asked me for a photo, so I agreed. I don’t remember when we took the photo or who she is.” Seungri added, “There are countless photos of me and fans on the internet, on social media, and in online communities. When I’m at the club, there are a lot of people that approach me and ask for a photo, and I usually accept.”

Meanwhile, police have stated that they are planning to investigate Aena, but are currently unable to reach her. She faced a charge involving marijuana last year, but received a suspension of indictment. If she is still in Korea, reports say she is in the country illegally, as her passport has expired.

Reports also revealed that Aena is one of the two women who sued Kim Sang Kyo for sexual harassment. Kim Sang Kyo is the Mr. Kim in question who first put Burning Sun in the public eye with his accusations of assault last month. Suspicions quickly followed regarding alleged backroom dealings with the police and tolerance of sexual assault and drug use at the club, all of which were wholly denied in both a statement by Burning Sun and the club CEO, Lee Moon Ho.

And despite statements from Seungri and the CEO stating that Seungri never had a hand in operations or management of the club, the BIGBANG member likewise has been unable to shake public scrutiny with regards to the recent controversies.
