BIGBANG’s Seungri made a special guest appearance at BLACKPINK’s first solo concert in Korea!

On November 10, BLACKPINK kicked off their “In Your Area” world tour by holding their first-ever Korean solo concert at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena in Seoul.

During the concert, Seungri delighted the crowd by making a surprise appearance and performing solo versions of BIGBANG’s hits “Bang Bang Bang” and “Fantastic Baby.” He also performed his newest solo tracks “Where R U From” and “1, 2, 3!”

While chatting with the BLACKPINK members on stage, Seungri joked, “BLACKPINK is doing so well these days that I can’t bring myself to use banmal [informal language] with them.”

He also expressed his confidence in the girl group’s future, remarking, “It’s an honor to be here as a guest at BLACKPINK’s concert. This gymnastics arena was also the venue of BIGBANG’s first concert, and I’m certain that, starting from this gymnastics arena, BLACKPINK will stretch out to take over the entire world.”

Seungri then playfully compared each BLACKPINK member to one of his own bandmates.

“When I look at BLACKPINK, I feel like they share a lot of similarities with BIGBANG,” he commented. “Whenever I see Jennie, I’m always reminded of G-Dragon. It seems like she’s always in Paris. She keeps taking photos with fashion designers and posting them online.”

He went on, “When I see Lisa, I keep thinking of Daesung. She has a bright aura and seems full of energy. When I see Jisoo, I’m reminded of T.O.P, who is random and unpredictable but also charismatic.”

“When I see Rosé, I think of Taeyang,” continued Seungri. “She has strong vocals and has a lot of soul as an artist.”

He jokingly added, “BLACKPINK doesn’t need a member like me.”

EXO’s Baekhyun and Sehun spoke about their close celebrity friends.

On November 8, the two EXO members appeared as guests on the “SM Special” episode of KBS 2TV’s “Happy Together.”

Speaking about how he became friends with actor Lee Joon Gi after filming “Scarlet Heart: Goryeo,” Baekhyun said, “We got close because of the drama. He continuously came to our concerts and invited me to his home, but I couldn’t go because of my schedule.”

He continued, “When we were filming the drama, he kept acting with me even when it was my scene. It was my first time acting and I had a lot of fear about my first crying scene and what I would do if I couldn’t cry. But because of his acting, I naturally cried while saying my lines. I was really moved.”

Sehun was then asked about his friendship with BIGBANG’s Seungri. “After we met, we continued our friendship,” the EXO member said. “Since he’s the youngest member and I’m the youngest member, there were some things that we had in common.”

When asked if it’s true they drink soju and eat shrimp crackers together, Sehun answered, “Yes, since he likes soju as well. When I ask him, ‘What are you doing?’ he says, ‘I’m working in the studio.’ I buy [shrimp crackers and soju] and take them to the studio. We listen to music and drink while eating crackers.”

BIGBANG’s Seungri recently attended a conference for his new franchise brand Head Rock VR.

It was announced on November 3 that Seungri would be joining the AR/VR (Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality) company Social Network as a creative director. The BIGBANG member will be launching a new VR franchise brand called “Head Rock VR,” for which he will also serve as the spokesmodel.

During the event, Seungri stated, “I recently received many calls after a news article came out about me being appointed as the president of an IT company. Park Soo Wang, the CEO of Social Network, said he needed my young energy, so he suggested the presidency to me.”

However, because Seungri already oversees multiple franchise companies, including one in the food industry, he explained that he decided to take on the role of creative director instead, after thinking about his existing company members.

It was then revealed that he had created the brand image for Head Rock VR in just two days. The name “Head Rock VR” is based on the gear that one wears on their head as they experience virtual reality and holds the meaning of “rocking” its users’ heads in a joyful way.

Head Rock VR will be opening its first international store in Singapore’s Sentosa Island in front of Universal Studios on November 15. The franchise has plans to expand into eight other stores in Mexico, Japan, Las Vegas, China, Seoul, Busan, and other locations by the end of the year.

Jung Hyung Don shared who the most popular girl groups in the military are according to G-Dragon!

TWICE appeared as guests on the November 6 episode of “Idol Room,” which Jung Hyung Don hosts along with Defconn. Jung Hyung Don’s friendship with G-Dragon is well known, and he talked about his friend in the episode.

Jung Hyung Don commented on the most popular girl groups in the military when he said, “I got a call from G-Dragon recently and he mentioned that TWICE, Red Velvet, and BLACKPINK’s reputation in the army is quite significant. If all three of them appeared on a music program then the soldiers would go crazy.”

Jung Hyung Don then made everyone laugh by adding, “Hey G-Dragon, I’ll send you TWICE’s autograph.”

Fans are requesting clarification from BIGBANG’s Seungri after he made a post supporting his friend on his personal Instagram account.

On November 5, Seungri posted a screenshot of the voting page for male fashion magazine Maxim’s Miss Maxim Contest. He also included a caption that read, “Please vote on #Maxim. If #LeeAhYoon takes first place, I will do an Instagram live broadcast for one hour! #bestfriend #LeeChoco.” Lee Choco is Lee Ah Yoon’s nickname.

Some fans were critical towards the post and commented, “There are underage fans too. How can you ask fans to go vote on a website where there are [sexually explicit photos]?,” “It’s rude to use an Instagram live broadcast as if it’s a generous reward for fans,” and “Why do you ask fans to do these kind of things?”

Others even started to question whether Seungri’s account was hacked or not. However, when some fans messaged Lee Ah Yoon for an explanation, she said, “The account isn’t hacked. I’m currently in last place while there’s only a few days left until the voting ends. So Seungri posted that to help me. If fans were hurt, I’m sorry.”

BIGBANG’s Seungri will be joining SBS’s “I Will Win You Over With My Channel”!

On November 6, a source from the variety show revealed, “BIGBANG’s Seungri will be joining [the show] as a fixed member.”

“I’ll Win You Over With My Channel” is a variety show in which celebrities create their own content and try to gain many subscribers and views. Kang Ho Dong and Yang Se Hyung will appear as MCs on the show. Previously, it was announced that AOA’s Seolhyun and Chanmi will also be joining the program as its newest members.

Seungri previously appeared on the Chuseok special pilot episode in September and joined Kang Ho Dong’s channel “Kang Ho Dong’s Petty Competition.”

“I’ll Win You Over With My Channel” premieres on November 15 at 11:15 p.m. KST.

BIGBANG’s Seungri is branching out into a new industry!

On November 3, the AR/VR (Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality) company Social Network announced that Seungri would be joining the company as the head of their VR department. The BIGBANG member will be launching a new VR franchise brand called “Head Rock VR,” for which he will also serve as the spokesmodel.

Although Seungri has made a name for himself as a successful entrepreneur, the new franchise marks his first foray into the technology sector.

Seungri remarked, “It’s an honor to be able to pursue my dreams together with the nation’s top AR/VR company. Moving beyond the F&B [Food & Beverage] industry, in which I am already active, I will become a pioneer who stands at the forefront of a new entertainment culture that will bring people joy.”

Park Soo Wang, the CEO of Social Network, commented, “Meeting Seungri, who has already overseen multiple franchises, has given us new wings, and we feel that we are in good hands. Together with Seungri, we will do our utmost as a VR franchise industry pioneer.”

Seungri will officially be appointed the head of Social Network’s VR department in a special ceremony held on November 7, during which he will also give a presentation on the new VR franchise brand.
