Seungri Jokes About What His One Condition Would Be Leaving YG For SM

On the first episode of SBS variety show “I Will Win You Over With My Channel,” which follows Kang Ho Dong, Yang Se Hyung, and actress Lee Young Ae in their competition for subscribers as they make their own content channels, Kang Ho Dong introduced his own channel, which he named “Kang Ho Dong’s Petty Competition.”

Kang Ho Dong sought out BIGBANG’s Seungri for his first broadcast and his first “petty competition.” He said he came to Seungri because he’s the biggest winner in Korea, whose name even means “victory.” Seungri replied, “In the history of idols, I have the biggest will to survive, like a cockroach. I never get stepped on, and I can survive in any situation. That’s the kind of survivability I have. I’m someone who was almost eliminated from BIGBANG and came back in the revival round.”

He added, “[G-Dragon] once was asked in a magazine interview what he’s most scared of, and he said, ‘That Seungri rises above me.’ Even GD is afraid of my survivability.”

Kang Ho Dong then gave Seungri a series of questions. When asked to name three reasons why YG is better than SM, Seungri couldn’t immediately answer and said, “I have to say three things? I don’t know if there will be that many.”

Seungri’s first reason why YG is better than SM was that Yang Hyun Suk is smart. Kang Ho Dong, who is part of SM C&C, retorted, “Is [Lee Soo Man] not smart?” Seungri then said YG makes a lot of great songs. Kang Ho Dong shot back again, “Can [Lee Soo Man] not make great songs?”

Seungri gave up and said, “Let’s move to SM! But only if I can be the leader. Honestly, I’m tired of being the youngest! I want to win everything!” Seungri quickly concluded, “That’s just how I feel. My forever leader G-Dragon, I love you.”

Producer of ‘YG Electronics’: “Caricaturing the Inside and Charms of YG…”

The premiere of ‘YG Electronics’ is highly anticipated among the public due to its director Park Junsu, the number one producer of b-rated comedy known for his previous works including ‘God of Music’ and ‘UV Syndrome’.

After bringing a new wave in TV variety shows with ‘God of Music’ and ‘UV Syndrome’, producer Park Junsu is now ready to make comeback with a sitcom with all-new concepts. He is a producer from Mnet, known for forming a new trend of fake documentaries by combining b-rated vibes and humor. He will now present a real sitcom with YG Entertainment and Seungri.

‘YG Electronics’ will cover the story of Seungri who gets demoted to YG’s Strategic Data Department, struggling to save YG Entertainment from crisis and get entrusted by the president. Not only Seungri but also other artists and celebs from YG Entertainment will play as themselves, which will confuse the viewers if the program is real or fake. Producer Park Junsu will shine once again through ‘YG Electronics’, as the maestro of variety shows and fake documentaries.

On the reason why he planned ‘YG Electronics’, Park Junsu explained, “YG Entertainment is a mystic and mysterious agency in the public’s perspective. Their music and visuals are full of swag, but it’s hard to spot their artists through media. I thought it would be interesting to caricature YG’s inside and charms which are hard to approach”. On the reason why he casted Seungri, the producer explained, “I wanted president Yang Hyun Suk but he declined and recommended Seungri instead. The reason behind it was that Seungri wants to resemble the president and does a good impression of him. For the same reason, the producing team gratefully accepted the president’s recommendation”.

Producer Park Junsu put detailed and intricate effort in this project. He prepared scripts for the staff and starting cast separately, to get real and vivid reactions from artists. Producer Park stated, “A lot of guests made appearances without knowing what ‘YG Electronics’ is about. The real reactions coming from unexpected events turned into natural laughing points”. ‘YG Electronics’ is a real sitcom directed by Park Junsu and written by Kim Minsuk of ‘SNL Korea’, which portrays Seungri’s actual character full of ambition. Other artists from YG including BLACKPINK, iKON, WINNER, and ONE are known to have made guest appearances, raising expectations on the show.

The crazy but real sitcom, ‘YG Electronics’ which portrays the process of Seungri trying to achieve his ambitions as ‘The Great Seungtsby’ will make the viewers addicted to its b-rated vibes and humor. The program will premiere on October 5 through Netflix and will be available for viewers in over 190 countries in the world.

BIGBANG’s Seungri spoke on the phone with a lucky fan on KBS 2TV’s “2 Days & 1 Night.”

On September 16, the variety show aired the final episode of its global viewers tour.

After visiting the mountain, sea, or outskirts of Korea, the cast members and their teams gathered at the base camp. Following a happy reunion, the teams competed against one another in a “four-level global tournament” over dinner.

Each team secured a different dish and enjoyed a delicious meal outside. Jung Joon Young then walked over to Kim Jong Min‘s table. He asked Kim Jong Min’s teammates in English, “Can I have one bulgogi? Because I have a gift for you.”

Turning the phone so that the fans could see Seungri on the screen, Jung Joon Young introduced them to his friend, saying, “This is my friend from France.”

Seungri waved to the fan over the phone as she told him how she has all the BIGBANG albums at home and attended G-Dragon’s concert in Paris. “I really like BIGBANG,” said the fan. Seungri replied, “Thank you for your support.” Jung Joon Young thanked Seungri for taking the time to take the phone call and wished him a good night.

Once the conversation ended, the fan burst into tears out of happiness. Kim Jong Min said, “She’s my fan, but she’s crying [after seeing Seungri]!” When another teammate asked Kim Jong Min if he was okay, he jokingly said no and made everyone laugh.

“2 Days & 1 Night” airs on Sundays at 4:50 p.m. KST. Check out an episode below!

Following some stills of Seungri that were released earlier this week, Netflix dropped a new trailer for the show on September 13, featuring various female artists — BLACKPINK, Apink’s Son Naeun, Chungha, and Sunmi — dishing on Seungri, saying how uncomfortable he makes them and how they’ve been warned to be careful of him.
