On the January 4 airing of ‘Weekly Idol,’ two BIGBANG members tried to play the intimate ‘apple game,’ which involves physical contact.
Jung Hyung Don first said, “I hear that there are two people who are awkward with each other,” revealing them to be T.O.P and Seungri. The two decided to try their hand at the apple game that G-Dragon and Jung Hyung Don had done four years ago.

Before the game, T.O.P said, “Seungri and I aren’t awkward [around each other]. The members just say that.” But then, when asked, “Do you keep in touch with Seungri often?” he replied, “I don’t contact him at all,” causing laughter.
However, they worked better than expected together for the apple game!

On the recent episode of “Weekly Idol” on January 4, BIGBANG appeared as guests and had a chance to introduce each other to the audience in their own special ways.

At the start of the show, BIGBANG made their entrance by riding toy cars. Watching G-Dragon come forth, Jung Hyung Don introduced him saying, “He is the number one successful K-pop star, acknowledged by Time Magazine.”

When the MCs told G-Dragon they’d be putting the cars away themselves, G-Dragon commented, “Nothing has changed in the past few years.”

Jung Hyung Don then asked G-Dragon, “Is there a member who isn’t necessary in BIGBANG?” and G-Dragon cracked up his fellow members by answering, “Maybe one?”.

Jung Hyung Don then introduced T.O.P as, “An eccentric artist who is crucial in BIGBANG!”

After T.O.P crashed his car into the wall with his toy car, Taeyang was introduced as having “a voice that melts souls.” Taeyang seemed to enjoy riding his car around the set as he circled it around to park it back at the beginning of the red carpet again.

Then Taeyang introduced Daesung saying, “He’s Korea’s soybean paste, Japan’s natto, and China’s stinky tofu. In other words, he’s someone so charismatic that you can never get over him if you fall for him.”

Finally, Daesung kept everyone laughing by introducing Seungri as “BIGBANG’s ‘episode’ machine. If it wasn’t for him, we wouldn’t be able to be on television shows.” Seungri then tried to prove his variety skills by driving into the set while lying down on his toy car, but G-Dragon commented, “It’s not funny.”

BIGBANG‘s Seungri explained why he shut down his idol academy business on the January 4th episode of ‘Weekly Idol‘.

Jung Hyung Don commented, “Seungri charges so much for his business,” and Seungri responded, “I didn’t personally run it. However, I heard that my employees worked really hard. I ran a vocal and dance academy. A lot of idols have come from there,” naming WINNER‘s Kim Jin Woo and BTS‘ j-hope.

He explained why he had to stop the venture, however, saying, “The teachers and students would end up liking each other, and I got calls from parents. That’s why I shut it down.”

BIGBANG was included in Forbes’s “30 Under 30 Music: Gallant, Bigbang, Daya, Logic And The Class Of 2017” list.

The list highlighted thirty singers, composers, lyricists, managers, and businessmen who are revolutionizing the global music industry.

BIGBANG stood toe to toe with the likes of famous R&B vocalist Gallant, rapper Logic, and R&B icon Jeremih.

In 2016, BIGBANG became the first Korean artists to be included in Forbes’s “Celebrity 100” and “The 30 Highest-Paid Celebrities Under 30” lists, being recognized for their contribution to the music industry.

Taeyang really knows how to spoil his fans!

While preparing for BIGBANG’s “Inkigayo” appearance this week, he expressed thanks to the fans waiting out in the cold by buying them all warm drinks and bungeoppang, a fish-shaped Korean pastry.

The treats were distributed from a rented food truck parked along the SBS lot. Next to the truck was a large banner featuring a personal message from the singer. The heartfelt message read, “V.I.P’s loud cheers give us lots of strength.”

Taeyang later shared images of the food truck and the bagged snacks on his personal Instagram account, captioning the post, “Eat up!”

Meanwhile, BIGBANG continues to promote their third full-length album “MADE.” Among planned activities, they will be making an appearance on the January 4 episode of “Weekly Idol.”

Rookie boy band TopSecret chose BIGBANG and SEVENTEEN as their role models.

Top Secret held a showcase for their debut album “Time’s Up” on January 3. The members revealed, “We really like BIGBANG. And we want to emulate SEVENTEEN’s stage work.”

The new boy band said, “It’s been around three years since the seven of us started rehearsing together. Our company held a survival competition, and we were the last ones standing. We had our debut stage at ‘Inkigayo’ on January 1. It’s amazing to see that when we search our name, something actually shows up. We’ll continue to do our best.”

“Time’s Up” is the first album of the group’s three part school series. The title track “She” is a song that reflects the love of a male student as he is drawn more towards the beauty within a person than their outwards appearance.

TopSecret said, “We filmed our music videos at a school to create a three part series. The title track ‘She’ is a love song, and the album is full of songs that people who are currently in love or who have broken off a relationship can listen to.”

The group has already amassed an overseas fanbase, having been active in Japan and Taiwan before their Korean debut. They will be making their official debut in Korea with the release of their album on January 4.

On January 1, the official Twitter account of MBCEvery1’s “Weekly Idol” posted a photo with a caption that read, “We invited BIGBANG, and we made them clean. We made them do a lot of things as if today was our last day, so much so that we wondered if we were allowed to do this. Please anticipate BIGBANG’s one-hour special on ‘Weekly Idol.'”

G-Dragon and T.O.P go way, way back. In fact, they were childhood friends. They were neighbourhood friends that used to dance and rap together. Then, YG Entertainment were scouting members for a boy band. G-Dragon contacted T.O.P and the rest, you can say, is history.

Their bond and friendship is what many strive for. They have been through many ups and downs together. That right there is the definition of friendship. Better yet, brotherhood. BewhY Was Inspired By G-Dragon To Audition For YG Entertainment

On January 2, SBS’s “Night of Real Entertainment” visited rising stars that are sure to blow up in 2017.

Rapper BewhY was one of them, and during his segment, he revealed himself as a fan of G-Dragon.

The rapper confessed, “I like G-Dragon so much that I even went and auditioned for YG.”

BewhY may not have become a YG artist, but he was still able to collaborate with G-Dragon during a performance at the 2016 SBS Gayo Daejun, which was well-received for its high-energy.

Another rising star that was covered on this week’ episode of “Night of Real Entertainment” was actor Kim Min Suk, who recently starred in SBS drama “Doctors.”
