[TV Talk Talk] SEUNGRI’s volubility full-blown in this week’s “Radio Star” show… How has he been refraining from talking so far?

[OSEN=박진영 기자] “I began to love talking over dancing from the fifth year since BIGBANG’s debut”.

BIGBANG’s SEUNGRI who obtained a nickname “the best comedian in Osaka” gave big entertainment to viewers of “Radio Star” show aired this week on December 28, with his full-blown sense of humor and volubility, despite the other members’ continuous attacks on him.

From the last week’s episode already, SEUNGRI won the hearts and minds of the viewers of “Radio Star” show, by boasting his outstanding sense of humor and volubility. G-DRAGON and SEUNGRI who always look like be quarreling cared for each other the most in “Radio Star”, too. T.O.P and SEUNGRI who have the same given names but totally contrasting personalities also made viewers burst into laughter, unveiling fun episodes from their daily lives.

Tons of episodes related with SEUNGRI poured out in the second BIGBANG episode of “Radio Star” show, again, so he was given another nickname, “episode machine”. While SEUNGRI was saying that a woman who he thought as his girlfriend for about a year was actually not, he unknowingly unveiled the fact that the woman’s mother called him ‘Seung-zzang, making everyone burst into big laughter.

SEUNGRI also said that even though he had been a famous dancer in Gwangju City comparable to U-Know Yunho of TVXQ before his debut, his dance began to downgrade from some point and he began to love talking over dancing form the fifth year since BIGBANG’s debut. G-DRAGON asked SEUNGRI “Is your singing okay?”, giving even bigger fun.

That was not all. While talking about the video of G-DRAGON recorded when he was fainting because of over-breathing during BIGBANG’s last world tour, SEUNGRI was mentioned over and over again. The other members said that is something SEUNGRI is good at and the video would not have been included in BIGBANG’s movie if the one who fainted was SEUNGRI.

Nevertheless, SEUNGRI was never intimidated by the other members, but rather boasted his outstanding presence instead, actively talking about what he thinks. Even when his talk abruptly ended in an awkward atmosphere twice, SEUNGRI turned the situation into funny scenes, with his flagship wit. SEUNGRI who has many rumors to the extent of being called “rumor manufacturer”, actively explained truths behind the rumors. When he said his father once told him, “Son, don’t live like a crap!”, all the people at the studio just could not stop laughing.

Not only the MCs of “Radio Star” show but also viewers of the show are saying that they were fascinated by SEUNGRI’s wit and new appeals. People also say that this week’s “Radio Star” show was all the funnier thanks to SEUNGRI who always does his best both when he is with the other members of BIGBANG and when he works alone.

How GD deals with rumors about his relationship and breakup… Even further raising curiosity

[스타뉴스=윤상근 기자]  “Both (about relationship and breakup) are not certain.”

G-DRAGON (28, Gwon Ji-yong) of top idol boy group BIGBANG appeared in MBC’s “Radio Star” show on December 28, to honestly talk about the rumors about his romantic relationships. So far, G-DRAGON has not either acknowledged or denied the rumors about his breakup with Mizuhara Kiko and relationship with Komatsu Nana which have been reported by media outlets, raising people’s curiosity. Finally, G-DRAGON talked about such rumors for the first time in this week’s “Radio Star” show.

He said it was not certain and it was not accurate, which was not easy to understand. He did not give clear answers about whether he has really broken up or he actually had such relationship. He just said that it is not certain and not accurate, even though he is the person directly concerned with the rumors. Such answers suggested that G-DRAGON did not want to clarify the truths behind the rumors. Rather than focusing on the truths, G-DRAGON seemed to be thinking more about the harm that would be caused to the other parts of the rumors.

The rumor about G-DRAGON’s relationship was triggered by a picture released on an on-line community in September this year. The other part of the rumor was Japanese actor-cum-model Komatsu Nana (20). G-DRAGON worked with Komatsu in March this year for Japanese fashion magazine “NYLON JAPAN”. Then, G-DRAGON’s undisclosed photos on his personal Instagram account leaked on the on-line community by somebody and it emerged as a hot issue on-line.

After the spread of the rumor, G-DRAGON’s label YG Entertainment said, “The company does not know anything about the rumor. We cannot confirm it, as it’s about GD’s privacy.”

There were rumors since 2010 about the relationship between G-DRAGON and Mizuhara Kiko, a Japanese model whose father is American and mother is Korean-Japanese. G-DRAGON did not acknowledge the rumors, but they have been widely thought to be a truth. Then, last year, it was known that the two broke up. In September last year, G-DRAGON said in NAVER V-LIVE broadcasting, “I don’t have a girlfriend now”.

In “Radio Star” show, G-DRAGON responded to questions about the rumors about his relationship and breakup subtly and carefully. G-DRAGON tried not to give an answer that the MCs wanted with much caution and maintained an unclear position as he has done so far, in “Radio Star”, too, to some extent.

However, G-DRAGON’s last remark seemed to be very meaningful. It is likely to raise fans’ curiosity about G-DRAGON’s relationships even higher.

“I think those kind of rumors will continue to exist.”

KBS And YG Respond To Controversy About BIGBANG’s Lack Of Appearance On KBS Shows

BIGBANG

KBS and YG Entertainment has recently responded to controversy about YG artists’ lack of appearance on KBS shows.

On December 29, a source from the KBS variety department said, “It is not true that BIGBANG’s appearance on an end-of-year program fell through. We had positive talks with YG’s side, but the situation just wasn’t right this time. Please refrain from wild speculations.”

The source continued, “The program’s producing directors and YG Entertainment were in talks about the appearance, but just because we have meetings with the celebrity or manager doesn’t mean that all singers end up appearing on the show.”

“Casting is inherently under the PD’s control,” they concluded. “It’s speculation to think that we reject a particular agency or have bad feelings toward them. It’s not good to make negative reports through overly simplistic deductions or outside hopes. It’s possible that the timing just wasn’t right.”

Meanwhile, YG Entertainment responded to the issue by stating, “In order to appear on the KBS music program, BIGBANG tried to keep the ball in the air, but since they didn’t get an answer, their appearance fell through.”

This statement caused rumors of a rift between YG and the KBS variety department. In addition, BIGBANG’s new song was also deemed unfit for broadcast by KBS, who cited the use of profanity and vulgar expressions as the reason.
