BIGBANG’s newest Japanese album release tops Oricon Charts

BIGBANG continues to prove their popularity in Japan as their latest album topped the Oricon Weekly Album Chart.

On February 9th, Japan’s largest music site Oricon revealed the rankings for this week’s album chart with BIGBANG leading the way with 128,000 units of their MADE Series album sold in the week since its release.

This is the third time since BIGBANG has sold a record amount in a week, and the first since a year and two months.

The first time occurred in June 2012 with their album ALIVE – MONSTER EDITION and the second time in December 2014 with THE BEST OF BIGBANG 2006-2014.

Meanwhile, BIGBANG is set to perform in Japan as part of their MADE world tour on February 23rd and 24th at the Tokyo Dome.

Taeyang Apologizes For Recent Alleged Racist Post

BIGBANG Taeyang had caused quite stir when he posted an innocent Lunar New Year greeting which many found to be offensive and racist.

In a post now deleted, Taeyang greeted his followers on instagram by using American rapper Kanye's image and put a monkey emoji to symbolize the year of the monkey while captioning "Happy Monkey New Year". However, many assumed that the post was insulting and rude that could be perceived as racist .

Netizens and some fans expressed their disappointment on his instagram comment section. In response to this, Taeyang made a comment as well and apologized saying,

"I read all the comments and I am very sorry to anyone who had bad feelings about the last post which is now deleted. I didn't know some people would think that way but it is totally my fault and I take responsibility. I did not mean it that way And I hope you guys understand that. I'm sorry again and I will never make this kind of mistake again. I hope you guys will forgive me"

Netizens are reacting differently expressing that he's ignorant and it would clearly caused controversy while others accepted his apology. What do you think?

[OSEN=표재민 기자] Can GANG DONG WON be a cute matchmaker? Rumors are spreading among BIGBANG fans that Hwang Jung-min will be coming to BIGBANG’s concert next month. Hwang Jung-min confessed that he is a BIGBANG fan, and his bias is G-DRAGON. Fans are hoping that they’ll get together at BIGBANG’s concert.
On MBC FM4U’s radio show Date At 2 O Clock, Hwang Jung-min told the host Park Kyung-lim that he is a huge fan of BIGBANG. At a previous interview with OSEN, he also said, “I don’t know G-DRAGON well, we’re not close. I’m just a fan, and I admire his talent. I had the chance to go to one of BIGBANG’s concerts, and it was awesome.”
Many people saw Hwang Jung-min at BIGBANG’s concert and posted the news online. People said that he was wearing casual clothes and seemed to be enjoying the concert very much. Hwang Jung-min has not been shy about saying he’s a fan of BIGBANG, particularly a fan of G-DRAGON.
During the radio show, he said, “I went to GD’s concert once and really enjoyed it. I tried to get a ticket for BIGBANG’s concert in March but I couldn’t.” He made a grumpy face and said “The tickets got all sold out in just three minutes” and joked “I know GANG DONG WON is with YG now and I’ll think I’ll ask him to get tickets for me.”
Recently, GANG DONG WON joined YG entertainment. Hwang Jung-min and GANG DONG WON co-starred in A Violent Prosecutor, which drew a million viewers. His witty remarks about asking GANG DONG WON for tickets were enough to make the listeners laugh. Since he said on numerous occasions that he is a BIGBANG fan, people are hoping that he will somehow get to ir concert.
His jokes are raising expectations especially among the fans of GANG DONG WON and the fans of BIGBANG. It makes one smile just thinking about top actors Hwang Jung-min and GANG DONG WON getting together with BIGBANG, the hottest group in K-pop history. Hwang Jung-min has made people have a good laugh in the run up to the Lunar New Year holiday.
Meanwhile, A Violent Prosecutor is about a prosecutor who is falsely charged with murder and sent to prison. He meets a good-looking crook and helps him to get out of prison so that he can clear his name. The movie became no.1 in the box office on the day of its release. In just two days of its release, the movie has surpassed the one million viewer mark by posting 465,541 viewers on February 4 alone and reaching 1,004,291 in accumulated viewers.

[마이데일리=최지예 기자] BIGBANG’s album “MADE SERIES” released in Japan took No.1 on Oricon chart.
Album “MADE SERIES” was released in Japan in celebration of BIGBANG’s unprecedentedly large-scale dome tour “BIGBANG 2015 World Tour -2016 [MADE] IN JAPAN”. “BIGBANG 2015 World Tour -2016 [MADE] IN JAPAN” is the third tour held by BIGBANG in Japan. BIGBANG is the first-ever foreign artist to hold dome tour in Japan for three consecutive years. Total 911,000 fans will come to “BIGBANG 2015 World Tour -2016 [MADE] IN JAPAN” to meet BIGBANG. “MADE SERIES” album took No.1 on the daily album chart of Oricon on the day of its release. Along with the top rank on Oricon chart, the album is in the first place on Japan’s iTunes albums chart as well, to prove BIGBANG’s big popularity in the country.
The album is BIGBANG’s new album released in Japan three years and eight months after “ALIVE – MONSTER EDITION” released in June, 2012. As soon as the news of the album’s release was announced, Japanese fans have paid keen attention to it.
The album released in Japan includes total 11 songs, including 8 original songs that were included in “MADE SEIRES” released in Korea, as well as the Japanese versions of “LOSER”, “BANG BANG BANG”, and “IF YOU”. BIGBANG to Tour in China and Meet 180,000 Fans in 8 Cities

  

[일간스포츠=엄동진 기자] BIGBANG will meet their fans in China by holding a tour in March.
BIGBANG’s China Tour is titled “2016 BIGBANG MADE [V.I.P] TOUR”, and they will hold concerts in eight cities to meet 182,000 fans. They will kick off the tour by holding a fan meeting at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai on March 11-12. Afterwards, they will go to Shenzhen, Zhengzhou, Hefei, Hangzhou, Nanchang, Changsha, and Nanjing.
BIGBANG decided to hold this tour to thank the Chinese fans for their huge response during “BIGBANG 2015 WORLD TOUR [MADE]”. Earlier on, BIGBANG became the first K-pop artist to successfully finish a tour that comprised of holding concerts in eleven Chinese cities. As much as 180,000 people came to ir concerts.
BIGBANG has made a lot of preparations for this tour so that the fans can see a new side of them. They will have talk sessions, play games, and hold special events for their fans.
Currently, BIGBANG is touring in Japan for their “BIGBANG 2015 World Tour ~2016[MADE] IN JAPAN”. They will round off their tour by performing at the Fukuoka Yafuoku! Dome on February 6-7 and at the Tokyo Dome on February 23-24.

BIGBANG has held tours not only in Asian countries such as China and Japan but also in North America and Oceania. They have held concerts in 32 cities in 13 countries, drawing 1.5 million people. They will hold concerts at the Seoul Olympic Gymnastics Stadium on March 4-6 as a finale to their world tour.
Competition to get the tickets to BIGBANG’s Seoul concerts was fierce. The tickets were first sold on February 2, and within 10 minutes all the tickets were sold. On the second round next day, it only took six minutes for the tickets to be sold out, and on the day after, six minutes, demonstrating BIGBANG’s astonishing ticket power.

K-pop has been on a decline in Japan due to sour Korea-Japan relations and anti-Korean sentiments and actions such as hate speeches. However, it seems K-pop is regaining its popularity.
BIGBANG is spearheading the trend. They are currently huge in Japan. Even celebrities have professed that they are huge fans of BIGBANG.
This new trend is reflected in the singles and album charts of Asahi TV’s Music Station, the most popular music show in Japan. BIGBANG appeared on the show for the first time in three and a half years on February 5.
Korean musicians took the top three spot of the Music Station’s albums chart that was announced on February 6. BIGBANG’s “MADE SERIES” was no.1 followed by Supernova Sungmo’s “THE FUTURE WITH U” and GOT7’s “Around The World” at no.2 and no.3, respectively.
BIGBANG’s album is also no.1 on the Oricon charts with Supernova Sungmo and GOT7 fighting for the second place.
According to SoundScan, BIGBANG’s album is currently the most selling album in Japan followed by GOT7 and Supernova Sungmo’s album.
Korean musicians are dominating the music charts and the album sales in Japan, a sign that K-pop is making a comeback in Japan after its slump.

Top 20 K-Pop Songs of 2015 in Taiwan Revealed

According to a Taiwanese music site, KKBOX, EXID’s “Up & Down” is the number one song on the K-pop singles chart for 2015.

KKBOX began in 2004, and includes 10 million users from not only Taiwan, but also Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia; and Thailand. Since its unveiling, it has become the number one online music streaming site in Taiwan.

Released on February 3, the chart not only shows EXID taking the number one spot, but they also are in number six for their song “Ah Yeah,” which was also fifth in the album category, showing the sharp increase in popularity EXID experienced last year.

EXID held their first showcase in Taiwan last July, and all 1,200 tickets sold out in five minutes, showing their influence as a hallyu idol group. Reportedly, EXID is “currently one of the most popular idol groups, and is unrivaled amongst girl groups.”

BIGBANG takes the crown for most singles on the chart, with a total of eight songs making it into the Top 20. Among these eight, “Bang Bang Bang” and “Loser” took second and third place respectively.

In fourth place is “Reset” by Tiger JK, which was actually part of the soundtrack for “Who Are You: School 2015,” showing the popularity and influence that Korean dramas also have in Taiwan.

BIGBANG members T.O.P and Taeyang have shared adorable photos of themselves on their Instagram.

Shared on February 4th, T.O.P shared paintings of himself done and given to him as a gift by Naoki Tomita, uploading the original for comparison. Following, T.O.P then shares childhood photos of other members in the group including G-Dragon, Daesung, and Taeyang as well.

But even at such a young age, their sharp facial features can be seen.

Fans love it when their favorite artists share pictures from their childhood, and this time is no different. T.O.P of BIGBANG recently shared a baby photo to his personal Instagram, much to the delight of his fans!

The photo follows a string of posts T.O.P shared of a canvas painting made using the same photograph. In the photo, baby T.O.P sports a hanbok and plays with a yellow toy truck. Fans commenting on the photo expressed surprise about how big his eyes were as a child.

It’s also quite appropriate that T.O.P shared this particular photo – for the Lunar New Year, which falls on February 8 this year, it’s not uncommon for children to wear traditional clothing like the hanbok in the photo.

BIGBANG and GOT7 top Oricon Charts with new Japanese albums

For the February 2nd daily album charting on Japan’s topmusic chart Oricon, Korean groups BIGBANG and GOT7 along with MYNAME were seen among the Top 10.

Releasing their respective albums on the same day, February 3rd, BIGBANG’s MADE SERIES album comes in #1 with 80,262 units sold on the first day while GOT7 follows in #2 with Morigatteyo and 11,118 units sold.

However, they are not the only Korean artists to chart in the Top 10 as boy group MYNAME returns with a three-month old album originally released on November 2015, their album MYBESTNAME!.

Meanwhile, as it is their first Japanese release in three years and eight months, BIGBANG is also scheduled to appear on TV Asahi’s Music Station on February 5th to perform, one of the many local promotions they will be undertaking.
