FUSE TV: THE 20 BEST SONGS OF 2015: #16 / 20 BIGBANG LOSER

BIGBANG, “Loser”

This year marked a banner year for the K-pop phenoms BIGBANG, who promoted eight (!) different singles this summer. It all kicked off in May with this brilliant mid-tempo track, that mixed BIGBANG's emotion-soaked hip hop with a slew of impassioned hooks. From G-Dragon and TOP's honest bars to Taeyang and Daesung's sky-high belting, "Loser" moves you regardless of what language you speak. – Jeff Benjamin

Zico Thinks There’s No Point in Comparing Him to G-Dragon

Zico Thinks There’s No Point in Comparing Him to G-Dragon

Zico finds it hard to understand why anyone would say that he is trying to imitate the success of G-Dragon.

And he has explained why.

On December 7, the Block B leader held an album release event for his first solo mini album “Gallery” which dropped earlier today at midnight.

Both being talented producers and rappers with a strong preference for hip-hop, Zico has been compared to G-Dragon ever since his debut days. Some critics have gone as far as to argue that Zico is being overly influenced by G-Dragon, and trying to follow the same road to the top.

Regarding such claims, Zico said during the album release event, “There’s absolutely no overlap in the music genres of me and G-Dragon. I don’t think it makes sense to say that I’ve copied him.”

“Of course, G-Dragon is a senior artist who ranks above me, and I’m incredibly grateful for being compared to him. However, we are on totally different paths.”

“I think people [claiming I'm copying him] are not fans of G-Dragon, but rather individuals who disapprove of my actions. But their behavior doesn’t affect me at all. I couldn’t care less,” Zico shared his thoughts on his critics and haters.

Meanwhile, Zico’s latest title track “Eureka” has topped the charts since its release, proving once again the wide appeal of his work.

Zico addresses speculations that he's following in G-Dragon's footsteps

allkpop.com_12_G-Dragon-Zico_1449510429_af_org.jpg
Zico addressed a speculation during his concert for mini-album, 'Gallery,' on December 7.

On this day, he opened up about people's thoughts about whether he was following in G-Dragon's footsteps with, "The musical genres for G-Dragon and me are completely different. That makes no sense.  Because the road G-Dragon is taking is completely different, I am not shaken by such criticism."

Regarding the malicious comments about himself, Zico said, "There are also posts that make me think about myself.  When I see those, I even get stimulated with the thought that I must improve.  Still, I try not to pay heed to posts that blindly disparage me without substance or logic."

The reason behind a massive unfollowing of T.O.P’s Instagram

T.O.P's Instagram
Image: T.O.P's Instagram

It seems that T.O.P‘s Instagram may have suffered a short massive unfollowing on Instagram after a series of odd posts by the popular rapper recently.

Despite having starting his Instagram just eight months ago, T.O.P has shown to be quite the photo lover as he currently has over 800 posts with at least 100 photos posts in the first two days since activating it. Undoubtedly, the BIGBANG member has shown to have quite the handle on this social media platform for it being his very first one.

Additionally, T.O.P is known for not only posting several art pieces he enjoys but odd photographs as well with one set that was so bizarre, his agency had to release a statement concerning them!

The latest set of bizarre posts allegedly were so weird that it caused many of his followers to unfollow the artists, though we doubt made a dent in his number of followers as in the last official Instagram count for T.O.P’s account was 3.1 million followers and he currently stands at 3.3 million followers at the time of writing.

A netizen on Instiz, who pointed out the recent massive unfollowing due to the posts (found below in the image capture), commented, “They didn’t want to tell T.O.P how to use his Instagram so fans decided to unfollow him……”

  • I seriously wonder what goes on in this oppa’s head ???..?? ? ?? ????? ?? ??? ?????????…
  • I unfollowed him too for now…I’ll follow him again later though….
  • I still like it..our dear TOP is enjoying his Instagram passionately ??
  • I love it personally often these things turn out to be teasers of a sort and he’s at least uploading and communicating with fans.
  • Even after mass unfollowing he has that much..
  • When ever he does something like that I laugh to my self and say this guy is trolling again. I’m just thankful that a guy who hasn’t used SNS in 10 years is at least attempting to communicate.
