G-Dragon And IU Chosen As GQ Korea's 2015 People Of The Year

There are only a few people each year that make a real impact on the world, and this year's GQ Korea picked two Korean idols as people of the year.

BIGBANG's leader G-Dragon was one of GQ Korea's Men of the Year, while soloist IU was the only person picked as GQ's Woman of the Year. Both artists were by the Korean magazine, where they discussed the past year.

GQ Korea chose IU and G-Dragon as award recipients based on all the achievements the pair accomplished in 2015.

Based on the successes of BIGBANG and his solo artistic ventures, GQ Korea picked G-Dragon. In his interview, G-Dragon discussed his love of experimental art, the success of BIGBANG, his role as a fashion icon, and his first venture into the physical art world with his "Peaceminusone" art exhibit.

The BIGBANG member also highlighted how his role as a member of the group can't be separated from his his solo successes.

"BIGBANG is everything. G-Dragon is BIGBANG. In 2015, BIGBANG was such a huge part of my life."

G-Dragon was one of two people chosen as GQ Korea's Men of the Year, along with actor Jung Jae Young.

IU was chosen by GQ Korea based on her career as a singer and the success of her "Infinite Challenge" song "Leon" and her album, "Chat-Shire," along with her role in the drama "Producers."

In her interview, IU also discussed the criticism surrounding her album "Chat-Shire" and the song "Zeze."

"I don't want to conclude, 'This is right and that is wrong' about the interpretations on the song," said the singer. "Since my own freedom is important, if I want to protect that, I have to protect other people's freedom to interpret the song...That doesn't mean that you can conclude that I'm a pedophile. There's a difference between interpretation of a song and criticism towards the person."

Both artists will perform at next week's Mnet Asia Music Awards (MAMA) in Hong Kong.

Heads up, VIPs! If you are traveling to Jeju, you may like to add this place to your itinerary. G-Dragon has recently opened a new café called ‘Café Aewol Monsant’, which had its grand opening in Jeju Island last month. Well, it was opened even before its official opening, but with less selection of menu.

Though you may not get to actually meet GD at this café, fans of BIGBANG and visitors are still welcome to drop by for a cup of coffee.

T.O.P relays his thoughts on the completion of ‘Secret Message’

Are you sad that ‘Secret Message’ ended on November 19? Well, here are the final farewell messages from actor T.O.P!
T.O.P said, “As actor Choi Seung Hyun, this was my first web drama and an extremely meaningful production for me because I was able to greatly show a new image in a more familiar and close way with all of you. It was a bit hard on my body because I had to go back and forth between Korea and Japan to film, but that shows how much affection remains [for the work].
“It was the first romance work I selected, and it was a new and enjoyable experience for me working with actress Ueno Juri, who is from another country and [speaks] another language; I sincerely thank all of the actors and staff members who worked with me.”
The pictures show the two getting along on set and showing a warm and fuzzy vibe as a couple.

BIGBANG, iKON, and J.Y. Park confirmed their attendance at “2015 MAMA” [Official announcement]

[????=??? ??] Group BIGBANG and iKON, as well as solo singer J.Y. Park will attend 2015 MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards).

“2015 MAMA” will be held on December 2 at AWE located in Hong Kong. J.Y. Park, BIGBANG, and iKON will attend the awards, to present fancy performances.

J.Y. Park entertained numerous music fans with digital single “24/34” released in April this year after his one year and seven months of absence. “Who’s your mama?”, the title track of the single, swept music chartswith its outstandingly dynamic groove. Such success of the song proved the still-powerful influence of J.Y. Park as not just a songwriter and producer, but also a solo singer.

BIGBANG released single albums titled “M”, “A”, “D”, and “E” for four months from May to August this year. Every song in those albums enjoyed enormous popularity, showing BIGBANG’s outstanding presence in the music scene.

iKON made their official debut with “MY TYPE” at the end of September this year and proved their big potential as the “monstrous rookie” by taking No.1 on a variety of music-streaming websites and TV music shows.

[??????=??? ??] Group BIGBANG is going to Hong Kong.

On November 18, CJ E&M said, “BIGBANG will attend ‘2015 MAMA’ (Mnet Asian Music Awards), to present fancy performances.”

Whether BIGBANG will attend this year’s MAMA or not has been a hot issues. Last month, a news report that attendance of artists of YG Entertainment, BIGBANG’s label, at this year’s MAMA was not confirmed was released. Such speculation was caused by MAMA’s response at that time which went, “We’re still establishing plans. We’ll do our best to present best performances with artists who have stood out for this year”.

Then, the first lineup of artists to perform at MAMA including CLBLUE, BTS, GOT7, and Zion.T was unveiled. As BIGBANG was not included in that first lineup, fans’ concerns grew bigger. Since most people in the music scene thought that the year 2015 was the year of BIGBANG both in name and substance, such concerns ran even higher. However, as BIGBANG confirmed their performance at this year’s MAMA recently, MAMA has come to have a richer lineup.

BIGBANG enjoyed an enormous popularity this year from May to August, releasing single album “M”, “A”, “D”, and “E” every month. BIGBANG’s new songs for this year including “BANG BANG BANG”, “LOSER”, “IF YOU” and “SOBER” swept music charts. Such “power of BIGBANG” was proven at the 2015 Melon Music Awards held on the 7 this month. BIGBANG, iKON, and More Confirmed to Attend 2015 MAMA

With YG Entertainment and Mnet experiencing some tension in their relationship, it seemed unclear whether or not YG artists would attend the 2015 MAMA. However, it looks as thought the recent discussions between the two parties were successful as MAMA confirmed the attendance of BIGBANG and iKON. Furthermore, they revealed Park Jin Young is also a part of the line-up.

The inclusion of these artists is a wise choice as they were quite active and successful this year. BIGBANG released multiple hits throughout four months with their “MADE” project by releasing new single every month during that period. Meanwhile, iKON enjoyed a noteworthy debut and even won first place on various music shows. Likewise, Park Jin Young did well on music charts with his hit song “Who’s Your Mama?”

Many fans foresee BIGBANG and iKON winning large at the 2015 MAMA due to their recent wins at the MelOn Music Awards.

Previously, MAMA confirmed that CNBLUE, GOT7, BTS, and Zion.T will attend as well.

G-Dragon blinded by photographers upon arrival at Gimpo Airport

BIGBANG’s G-Dragon looks fed up as he braved the attack of the photographers upon arriving at Gimpo International Airport in South Korea.

In photos released by Dispatch on November 18th, G-Dragon was initially spotted with his heart finger tattoo, wearing an all black ensemble as he walked out towards the airport’s terminal.

However, as the photos were published, it can be seen that G-Dragon was seemingly overwhelmed with the flash coming from the photographers as he covered his eyes, before eventually covering his entire face with his turtle neck and hat.

G-Dragon returned to South Korea following BIGBANG’s Tokyo Dome concert over the weekend.

Choo Sarang Shows Off Gifts From G-Dragon

Choo Sarang received some presents from G-Dragon of BIGBANG after having attended his concert, and Choo Sung Hoon posted a picture of the presents to say thank you on his Instagram account on behalf of his daughter. He wrote the words, “G-Dragon’s presents, I really like them. Thank you, G-Dragon.” In the picture, Choo Sarang is holding presents from G-Dragon in her hands.

G-Dragon is known for being Choo Sarang’s fan. He sometimes posts things related to her on his Instagram account, and he has also made appearances at various points on “The Return of Superman.” It seems that he really knows how to gain her affection!

G-Dragon, Taeyang, CL, and Dara upload mysterious teasers, hints of collaboration?

VIPs and Blackjacks are at a loss as their biases upload similar but varying teasers onto their Instagram with the hashtags, #WHOSNEXT, #YG, and #20151121.

Almost simultaneously, BIGBANG‘s G-Dragon & Taeyang and 2NE1‘s CL & Darauploaded individual letters in monochrome onto their SNS accounts, though did not comment on what they were for other then using the cryptic hashtag mentioned above.

With the date November 21st merely a given in YG Entertainment‘s most recent teaser poster which was later confirmed to be a CL solo comeback, fans are taking a guess as to whether these four artists will be dropping a collaboration or even promoting as a sub-unit.

Others have put the letters together, guessing that the letters all stand for “Hello Bi+ches.”
