BIGBANG has released total eight songs this year, two songs every month from May to August. The songs including “LOSER”, “BAE BAE”, “BANG BANG BANG”, “IF YOU”, “SOBER”, “ZUTTER”, “LET’S NOT FALL IN LOVE” have enjoyed a big popularity from many people during the entire summer season, regardless of when they were released.

Of course, there have been some unexpected twists. As MBC’s variety show began its music festival, new-face musicians came under a new spotlight and took high rankings on charts. Notably, band Hyuk Oh and singer Zion.T remarkably stood out. They showed big influence for a month from early July when the broadcasting of the music festival of “The Infinite Challenge” began. The album of the fifth “Infinite Challenge Music Festival” will have the songs to be sung by six teams – Yoo Jae-Suk & JYP, Park Myung-Soo & IU, Jung Joon-Ha & Yoon Sang, Jung Hyung-Don & Hyuk Oh band, Haha & Zion.T, and Hwang Kwanghee & GDxTAEYANG – on the 13 in PyeongChang, Gangwon Province. The delivery of the record will start on the 24.

“Infinity Challenge” Releases Duet by IU and Oh Hyuk, Zion.T and Taeyang’s Duet Is Next

In a new unaired clip released by MBC variety show “Infinity Challenge,” hyukoh frontman Oh Hyuk and IU gift fans with a stripped down acoustic cover of Primary and Oh Hyuk’s song “Gondry.”

In the video, Oh Hyuk and IU charm the studio with their soothing voices, which sound even better together.

This is not the only previously unaired footage to be released by “Infinity Challenge.” Viewers can look forward to a special cover by Zion.T and Taeyang of Taeyang’s “I Need a Girl,” which is slated to be released tomorrow.

Meanwhile, “Infinity Challenge” is currently holding its 2015 Music Festival, which is proving to be a huge hit with audiences. The artist lineup for this year’s festival features IU, hyukoh, Park Jin Young, Yoon Sang, BIGBANG‘s G-Dragon and Taeyang, and Zion.T.

BIGBANG has concert in Chongquing, China on August 30… Sold 3.1mn records of “MADE” in China

BIGBANG who is enjoying big popularity in China is visiting Chongqing, China.

China’s major newspapers reported on the 10 this month, that BIGBANG will meet fans from around the world in “BIGBANG 2015 WORLD TOUR ‘MADE’ IN CHINA” to be held at China Chongqing International Exhibition Center on the 30 this month.

The  ticket sale for the tour began on the 7 at 11am, to be sold-out within 10 minutes of opening, according to Xinhuanet. BIGBANG will perform their hit songs that have drawn big popularity so far including latest “LET’S NOT FALL IN LOVE” and “ZUTTER” in the Chongqing tour.

Meanwhile, BIGBANG had a concert in Shenzhen in China on the 7, and in Nanjing on the 9, to captivate fans in the country during the last weekend. BIGBANG will also have a concert in Chendu, Sichuan, on the 14, before the Chongqing tour.

According to the data produced by China’s biggest music website QQ.com on the 10, BIGBANG’s digital album “MADE” has sold 3,106,875 records in China so far, and the number of hits for the music video of “LET’S NOT FALL IN LOVE” and “ZUTTER” has also surpassed 14,566,000 in combination.

BIGBANG’s ‘MADE’ Series EPs Sell Over 3 Million Copies Through Chinese Digital Sales

K-pop boy band BIGBANG’s “Made” series albums have sold over three million copies through digital sales in China alone.

On China’s QQ Music site, all four albums from the series sold a total of 3,106,875 copies and revealed the group’s overwhelming popularity overseas.

The music videos released with the songs also received much attention, raking in tens of millions of views in just a few short months.

On Monday, the group released a special behind the scenes video through Naver TV Cast of their tour in the Philippines and Indonesia.

BIGBANG will head to China this Thursday before continuing on to the US, Canada and other locations as part of their world tour. They will visit a total of 15 countries and perform 70 times and meet with over one million fans.

BIGBANG released several singles throughout July and August as part of their MADE series and will be holding their BIGBANG 2015 World Tour MADE in USA beginning this fall.

They will be performing their new hit songs, “Bang Bang Bang” and “If You” during the tour as well.

“We Like To Party” and “Bang Bang Bang” were seen on the top two spots on then Billboard World Digital Songs in July.

Currently, six dates have been confirmed for their tour including California, New Jersey and Las Vegas.
The MADE series is divided into five parts, ‘M, ‘A,’ ‘D,’ and ‘E’ and will release their full album, “Made” in September.

During the release of this series, the group has been busy with their world tour and have recently visited Malaysia on July 25.

For their “E” album, they released a song by only G-Dragon and TOP. This is the first time the duo has performed together since 2010.

YG Entertainment Wins Five Red Dot Design Awards

YG Entertainment’s expertise in music is well-known, but the company is proving that their excellence in design too too.

The “Red Dot Design Award” is a German design contest that is considered the Oscars of the design field and one of the top three design awards along with IF and IDEA. Starting from 1955, it has awarded works for product design, communication design, and concept design. Winners are displayed at the Red Dot Design Museum located in Essen, Germany.

Just before the award ceremonies on August 11, YG won five different awards in the communication field for the branding of WINNER’s debut, 2NE1’s second album “Crush,” Taeyang’s second album “RISE” (Full Package), the “YG FAMILY CONCERT IN SEOUL LIVE” CD, and YG and Woori Bank’s collaboration package design. Impressively, this is the company’s first time in the contest.

WINNER’s debut branding was unique because it was the first project to adapt a fashion brand launching concept to an artists’ debut.

2NE1’s “CRUSH” expresses 2NE1’s distinct personality as a band and comes in both pink and black. The “YG FAMILY CONCERT IN SEOUL LIVE” CD does a good job at merging both the old and new together in its design, reflecting how Epik High, Lee Hi, and WINNER joined with original YG artists such as Psy, BIGBANG, and 2NE1. The entire package for Taeyang’s “RISE” (Full Pacakge), including the Korean and Japanese DBD and LP, was awarded.

The YG and Woori Bank card also received high scores because it is a case where two unrelated brands collaborated together.

Meanwhile, YG is planning to continue its creative streak in design by hiring more designers and promoting the recruitment through their “NEXT CREATOR” channel.

According to the staff of JTBC, the shooting of Please Take Care of My Refrigerator with GD and TAEYANG as guests took place on the 10th, and it will be aired on August 31. 

GD and TAEYANG are known to be huge fans of Please Take Care of My Refrigerator. During the show last July, Hong Seok-cheon – who is one of the show’s regular cast members – mentioned, “GD and TAEYANG love this show.”

All eyes are on what they have in their refrigerators.

In addition to promoting BIGBANG’s new singles, GD and TAEYANG are also doing well in variety shows. In Infinite Challenge, they have teamed up with Kwanghee to perform at the show’s 2015 music festival.

[????=??? ??] BIGBANG (G-DRAGON, T.O.P, TAEYANG, DAESUNG, and SEUNGRI) who has been carrying out the five-month-long “MADE” project and world tour together. The members of BIGBANG talked about what they feel about the success of “MADE” series and about the 10th anniversary of their debut with Star News, to directly communicate with fans. 

BIGBANG continued their “MADE” project this month, releasing “LET’S NOT FALL IN LOVE” and GD&TOP unit’s “ZUTTER” in fourth single “E” of the project.

BIGBANG released first single “M” with “LOSER” and “BAE BAE” in May, second single “A” with “BANG BANG BANG” and “WE LIKE 2 PARTY” in June, and third single “D” with “IF YOU” and “SOBER” in July, in their “MADE” project.

BIGBANG proved their enormous potential with the project, by taking the No.1 for three consecutive months with “LOSER” in May, “BANG BANG BANG” in June, and “IF YOU” in July, on the monthly digital chart of Gaon, which is Korea’s public music chart. This August’s new songs are also drawing a big popularity on a variety of charts. BIGBANG will release complete “MADE” album with new songs in September, too come back to fans once again.

BIGBANG is also successfully holding the world tour for “MADE” album project from April this year beginning from Seoul, to have concert in Guangzhou, Beijing, Shanghai, Dailan, Wuhan, Shenzhen, and Nanjing in China, as well as in Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, etc. BIGBANG will continue with the world tour until next year, to meet 1.4 million fans around the world in 70 concerts in 15 countries.

Star News met BIGBANG members who have been so busy recently, at a shooting for a music show.

-You took the No.1 on Gaon chart for three consecutive months.

 We haven’t really expected that we would take the No.1 for three months in a row. For the first and second single, we followed our initial plans, but for the third single, there were some changed in the process of preparation. Plus, because of our world tour, we haven’t performed on TV for “IF YOU” included in the third single. However, “IF YOU” took the No.1 too, which makes us all the more pleased.

- What do you think the reason for such a big popularity of your songs for three months in a row is?

 First of all, we made a good start with first single “LOSER” and “BAE BAE”. I think that is what made our fans have bigger expectations for the next single. Plus, the color of every single was different, and that was one of the reasons, too. We also made a lot of efforts and concentrated on our music, to give our fans the best among all our songs. I really thank all the people who listened to our music. We will also have good music for complete “MADE” album in September.

- You are doing this exceptional project of releasing a single every month and then unveil the complete album, since May.

Actually, we ourselves had doubt over if we can really lead this “MADE” album project to success. In reality and in some other aspects too, there have been some unsuccessful albums for the year since our debut in 2006. However, we decided to just make good music, instead of focusing on taking the No.1 on charts. Our goal was just to make people listen to our music, than to top the charts. Thinking that way, we got confidence n “MADE” plan. I feel really good that our new trial and challenge is being carried out successfully.

-So, what is BIGBANG’s music?

It is music that does not let our fans down. We are making a lot of efforts for that. We really wanted to make people other than our fans, of course for our fans too, to listen to BIGBANG’s music. We also have done our best not to shame ourselves.

BIGBANG’s G-Dragon and Taeyang are set to appear in the popular JTBC show “Please Take Care of My Refrigerator.”

According to a JTBC representative on August 10, the duo is filming for the show today, and their episode will be airing on August 31.

The two were revealed to be fans of the show during a previous episode from July, when panel member Hong Suk Chun said that G-Dragon and Taeyang really like the show. 

Especially as G-Dragon and Taeyang are busy with touring and “MADE” promotions, not to mention filming for the “Infinity Challenge” music festival, anticipation is high as to what the state of the artists’ refrigerators is.

Fans find hidden message in BIGBANG’s “Let’s Not Fall In Love” track

If you weren’t distracted by the amazing visuals of BIGBANG‘s latest music video “Let’s Not Fall In Love,” you might have heard what these VIPs did.

BIGBANG released their final MADE single E on August 5th featuring the group song “Let’s Not Fall In Love” and the GD&TOP unit comeback song “Zutter.”

During “Let’s Not Fall In Love,” fans found a hidden message provided by the members during the break of the track in the music video. In a fan made video that was titled “BIGBANG’s ‘Let’s Not Fall In Love’ Backward Masking,” they have clipped the hidden message for those who missed it and played it in reverse.

A female voice is first heard saying in Korean, “You always do this,” and a male voice says backwards in English, “Sorry, it’s not you, it’s me.” The girl replies, “You selfish bastard.”

Many are confused as to why it was chosen for the male to say “Sorry, it’s not you, it’s me”backwards instead of normally in the original recording.

Sentimental BIGBANG VS Powerful GD&T.O.P…Showing off Their Different Appeal in Inkigayo

On the August 9 episode of SBS’s Inkigayo, BIGBANG’s first ever performances of “LET’S NOT FALL IN LOVE” and “ZUTTER” were aired.

First, BIGBANG caught the eyes of viewers by staging a sentimental and soft performance of “LET’S NOT FALL IN LOVE.” Then, GD&T.O.P came out on the stage and performed their song “ZUTTER” in a totally different concept. The two members wore red suits and owned the stage with their powerful energy.

“LET’S NOT FALL IN LOVE” – which was released on August 5 – is rocking the charts and took the NO. spot on the charts of Melon, Olleh Music, Bugs Music, Genie, Naver Music, and Soribada as of 8 AM August 9. “ZUTTER” is also high up on the charts ranking second or third on the charts.

Meanwhile, Super Junior, BIGBANG, SHINee, Beast, Wondergirls, Infinite, T-ara, B1A4, Apink, Baechigi, GFriend, Yoo Seoung Woo, Sonamoo, Legend, and NC.A appeared in SBS’s Inkigayo on August 9.
