As of today (10th) at 10 AM, BIGBANG surpassed 10 million YouTube subscribers. Therefore, BIGBANG became qualified for the ‘Diamond Creator Award’. BIGBANG who has over 10 million subscribers will be awarded with the best trophy called the ‘Diamond Creator Award’, also known as the ‘Diamond Play Button’.

As of today (10th) at 10 AM, BIGBANG had approximately 10 million and 6 thousand subscribers.

YouTube awards its users who have over a certain number of subscribers with a trophy, acknowledging their influential power. BIGBANG who has over 10 million subscribers will be awarded with the best trophy called ‘Diamond Creator Award’, also known as the ‘Diamond Play Button’.

YouTube gives out three types of trophies as part of their ‘YouTube Partner Awards’. They award Silver for users with over 100 thousand subscribers, Gold for those over 1 million, and a ‘Diamond Creator Award’ for users with over 10 million subscribers.

By surpassing 10 million subscribers on YouTube which is regarded as an objective indicator of popularity and awareness overseas, BIGBANG once again proved their status as a global top-class artist group.

BIGBANG currently has 13 music videos with over 100 million views including ‘Fantastic Baby’ and ‘BANG BANG BANG’, which have accumulated approximately 300 million views. The group recently surpassed 200 million views on the music video for GD X TAEYANG’s ‘GOOD BOY’ and surpassed 100 million views on videos for ‘SOBER’ and ‘HARU HARU’ despite the members’ vacancy due to enlistments, with the steady support from global fans.

While facing their 12th anniversary since debut, 4 members of BIGBANG are currently serving their military duties. Following T.O.P’s enlistment last year, members including G-DRAGON, TAEYANG, and DAESUNG enlisted this year to serve for their country. The youngest member SEUNGRI is currently actively promoting his album while filling up the vacancies by other members.

This week’s guests on “Running Man” helped bring in successful viewership ratings with their hilarious jokes and skills.

According to Nielsen Korea, the September 9 episode of “Running Man” achieved 5.4 percent viewership ratings for viewers in their 20s to 40s, widely considered the target audience for broadcasting stations. The show beat its competitors KBS’s “Happy Sunday” and MBC’s “The King of Mask Singer” with its viewership rating. Overall, the show ranked third after SBS’s “My Ugly Duckling” and SBS’s “Master in the House.”

This week’s episode was the second part to the “Truth or Dare” special, called “Dangerous Race 2: Eternal Love.” The episode brought out a star-studded guest line-up including BIGBANG’s Seungri, iKON’s B.I. and Bobby, Sunmi, Lee Si Ah, Lee Elijah, Lee Joo Yeon, and Kim Ji Min. Each of the stars shone in their own way, adding their own unique humor to the show. The guests and cast members teamed up as couples, with Lee Kwang Soo and Lee Elijah, Yoo Jae Suk and Lee Si Ah, Kim Jong Kook and Lee Joo Yeon, Song Ji Hyo and Bobby, Yang Se Chan and B.I., Ji Suk Jin and Kim Ji Min, HaHa and Sunmi, as well as Jun So Min and Seungri.

The first mission featured the guests showing off their impressions and skills. Lee Si Ah showed off her impression of a dog barking, which started an all-out war of animal noise impersonations. Though B.I. also impressed with his impressions, he became flustered and admitted defeat to Lee Si Ah.

Seungri made everyone laugh with his ability to dance to any song, including the theme song to a popular children’s television show, as well as the theme song to SBS News. B.I. impressed the cast with his meaningful, yet hilariously relatable poem on the show, while Lee Elijah pulled off a disjointed dance with a serious expression.

The highest watched minute of the show was achieved by B.I. and Yang Se Chan during the human curling segment. By using B.I., Yang Se Chan got rid of his team’s debt during the race, which amounted to a total of 35,000 won (approximately $31). The minute achieved 9.3 percent viewership ratings.

At the end of the race, other than the winning green team, each team had to send one member to receive punishment. HaHa and B.I. received one hit on the flogging table, while Lee Kwang Soo hilariously received two hits as well as a cream pie to the face.

BIGBANG has reached 10 million subscribers on their official YouTube channel, earning them the YouTube Diamond Creator Award.

On September 10, BIGBANG’s YouTube channel reached the 10 million subscriber mark. YouTube recognizes channels that reach certain milestones for their influence, with a Diamond Creator Award, also known as the Diamond Play Button, awarded to those who reach 10 million subscribers.

This makes BIGBANG the third K-pop group to reach the milestone, following BLACKPINK and BTS. The group has proved their global popularity yet again through the achievement. BIGBANG has a total of 10 full group music videos that have surpassed 100 million views, with “Fantastic Baby” being the group’s first to hit 350 million views and “Bang Bang Bang” reaching the 300 million view milestone. A total of four solo and sub-unit music videos have also reached 100 million views, with the most recent one being G-Dragon’s “Who You?”

The group celebrated their 12th anniversary this year, and four of the five members are currently serving in the army. The youngest member Seungri has been actively promoting both domestically and internationally with a solo album and concert tour.

YG Entertainment will be teaming up with Netflix for their upcoming variety show.

On September 10, YG Entertainment revealed, “Our agency will be working with Netflix for a global release of ‘YG Strategy Center’ (tentative title) on October 5.”

“YG Strategy Center” is a new real sitcom produced by producing director (PD) Park Jun Su, who has created showed like Mnet’s “The God of Music” and “UV Syndrome.” He is joined by “SNL Korea” writer Kim Min Suk, and the series will star BIGBANG’s Seungri as an ambitious figure who hopes to save a company in trouble. Unlike its grandiose name, the strategic information center is a department where all of YG’s outsiders are placed, and another name for it is YG’s treasure chest.

Seungri will play a character who gets sent to the department and he does his best to succeed and return to his previous job. Seungri will also be joined by other YG artists like BLACKPINK, iKON, WINNER, and One. A teaser clip had previously been released for the show.

The series will be released on October 5.

BIGBANG’s G-Dragon has surpassed 100 million views with another solo music video!

On September 10, G-Dragon’s music video for “Who You?” hit 100 million views on YouTube, making it his second solo music video to reach the milestone.

The BIGBANG member previously achieved 100 million views with his music video for his solo song “Crooked” in January 2017.

The music video for “Who You?”, one of the title tracks from G-Dragon’s solo album “Coup d’Etat,” was originally released in November 2013. The unique video features no less than 1,000 fans, who participated in the filming by recording their own images and videos of G-Dragon from outside a large glass box.

On the latest episode of “Running Man,” BIGBANG’s Seungri surprised the cast with his spontaneous and creative choreography!

The September 9 broadcast of the SBS variety show featured a special couple race, in which the guests paired off with the cast members and competed against each other in teams of two.

Seungri, whose partner for the race was Jun So Min, challenged the other couples to a dance competition. The BIGBANG member confidently declared, “We can dance to any music, no matter what it is.”

Yoo Jae Suk replied, “Really? Anything at all? Even nature sounds?” Seungri repeated, “Anything at all.”

Although momentarily caught off guard when the cute children’s song “Shark Family” started playing, Seungri immediately became one with the music and began to dance. The other guests and “Running Man” cast were impressed by his ability to come up with entertaining moves on the spot, with Kim Jong Kook exclaiming, “He’s got creativity!” Yang Se Chan and Jun So Min similarly chimed in, “He’s good at this.”

Seungri proved completely unfazed when the production staff suddenly turned off the music and started playing the sounds of streaming water instead. To everyone’s amusement, he managed to perfectly express the flowing water through his impromptu interpretive dance.

The singer’s final hurdle was the theme music for SBS’s evening news. Seungri paused for a moment in surprise, but soon threw himself back into dancing as he passionately depicted a television screen and a clock with his hand and arm movements.
