Fuse TV: G-Dragon Makes Solo Return with KWON JI YONG Album and ‘UNTITLED 2014’ Video

G-DRAGON MAKES HIS SOLO RETURN WITH ‘KWON JI YONG’ ALBUM & ‘UNTITLED 2014’ VIDEO

For his first release in nearly four years, the BIGBANG superstar leads off with a stark piano ballad representing just one shade of the wide-ranging new EP that is already No. 1 on iTunes

One of K-pop’s biggest and most creative superstars returns today to show the world even more sides of himself.

G-Dragon released his new EP titled Kwon Ji Yong, his first solo release in nearly four years, that’s led by the harrowing new single “Untitled, 2014.” The stark piano ballad reads like a letter to a past lover with the BIGBANG leader apologizing for his past actions, asking for forgiveness and the chance to see his ex again even if it’s just one more time or in his dreams. Without any percussion or beat, the song is simply just GD and the piano making the single most comparable to Adele’s emotional megahit “Someone Like You” that also only encompassed the two instruments.

Its accompanying video is also a no-frills affair with gorgeous, sunset-soaked projections soaring around the K-pop superstar as he delivers his honest confessions to keep the viewer focused on the song’s meaning rather than be distracted by captivating visuals.

Kwon Ji Yong is titled after G-Dragon’s legal Korean name with the five-track EP highlighting some of G-Dragon’s biggest strengths as a forward-thinking hip-hop maestro (see the intense “Bullsh*t”) and self-assured superstar (the introduction track “Middle Fingers-Up” is a confident anthem), with “Untitled, 2014” counteracting those harder tracks to spotlight GD’s less-seen tender side.

With Kwon Ji Yong already racing to No. 1 on the U.S. iTunes Top Albums ranking, it’s clear that G-Dragon fans have been long awaiting his solo return and this should lead to a slew of exciting new material for the star when he hits America for his massive arena tour this summer.

Check out the dates for G-Dragon’s upcoming tour here. Below, stream Kwon Ji Yong via Apple Music and then watch a classic Fuse interview with G-Dragon where he reacted to his initial overseas interest.

Here’s What T.O.P’s Treatment Will Be Going Forward

T.O.P will be officially discharged from Ehwa Woman’s University Hospital’s intensive care unit (ICU) as early as tomorrow.

“T.O.P has regained consciousness. He will most likely be leaving the hospital and be officially discharged tomorrow. There’s a high chance that will happen.” — Osen (via Hospital Worker)

T.O.P will require psychological treatment and other medical treatment, even after being removed from the ICU. During the press conference by T.O.P’s doctors, they announced that he would require further treatment after waking up.

What Happens To T.O.P Next?

The report was unable to confirm if he will continue to receive treatment at the same hospital or seek it elsewhere.

However, T.O.P will be able to transfer to another hospital if removed from the Intensive Care Unit tomorrow.

T.O.P was unable to choose the hospital or doctors he received immediate treatment from, due to the situation. He may now decide to move to another hospital of his or his guardians choosing.

“Where [T.O.P] decides to go for future treatments will be decided by his guardian.” — Osen (via Hospital Worker)

How Long Will T.O.P Require Treatment?

T.O.P’s doctors have confirmed that it takes on average, around 1 – 2 weeks to recover fully from an incident like this.

This is the timeframe only for an average, healthy person who does not have other illnesses.

Since the press conference, T.O.P has gone from not breathing properly to slowly opening his eyes and even recognizing his mother.

At first, doctors were not able to treat him for psychologically, due to his unresponsive state. His blood condition at the time was very poor as well.

It appears that this has now changed and he may be able to receive treatment as soon as tomorrow.

What Was The Drug That T.O.P Overdosed On?

Benzodiazepines are often called “benzos” and while there are over 15 types, the most familiar are Valium and Xanax.

They are part of the family of drugs known as “minor tranquilizers”. This is why reports initially stated or translated that T.O.P overdosed on tranquilizers.

Benzos are most commonly used to treat panic disorders, anxiety, insomnia, alcohol withdrawal, and seizures.

Benzos are not commonly known to cause severe complications in an overdose when they are taken alone.

However, combining it with alcohol can cause serious toxicity. No reports have claimed that T.O.P combined his medical drugs with other substances.

MV of G-DRAGON’s New Song “UNTITLED” Took the Shortest Time Ever to Shoot Thanks To His Amazing Acting

[OSEN=선미경 기자] In the run up to the release of G-DRAGON’s solo album at 6 PM today, YG Entertainment told the behind-the-scene stories of his “UNTITLED” music video.

The music video of G-DRAGON’s title song “UNTITLED” was directed by Han Sa Min, who has worked with BIGBANG and G-DRAGON on a number of occasions.

He wanted the music video of “UNTITLED” to consist mostly of close-up shoots and refrain from using any glamorous sets or lighting to focus on showing G-DRAGON’s facial expressions since the song has sad lyrics and conveys sentimental emotions.

The original plan was to shoot the music video for two days, and the staff had prepared several sets. The director wanted to shoot the scenes dozens of times and edit the best ones for the final music video. However, G-DRAGON was able to pull it off on his first try, and the shooting ended in just an hour.

It was the shortest time for a music video shoot since BIGBANG’s debut, and it is certainly a rare case in the industry. Usually, it takes two or three days to shoot a music video because changing sets takes at least a few hours.

When the camera began shooting G-DRAGON, the director did not say “cut” and continued to shoot him until the song was over.

When the first shooting was over, Han Sa Min said, “There’s no need to shoot any more. We have sets prepared for more shooting tomorrow, but I don’t need.” Then, he did some additional shoots and rounded off the shooting.

He thought that the first take was so good that it could be used as a single-take scene without any editing.

One-take filming method refers to a type of shooting where the scene is filmed in a single take from its beginning till end without any editing involved. This method is difficult as the cameraman has to shoot the scene from the very beginning again even if the smallest thing goes wrong during the take.

For example, the opening scene of La La Land in which many people came out on the highway and danced was shot in one take.

G-DRAGON is often referred to as the celebrity of the celebrities, and expectations are running high for his new music video. Fans are wondering how good his acting was and eager to see what made the director say okay to the first shoot and change the music video into a single-take music video. You can check out the music video of “UNTITLED”, the title song of G-DRAGON’s “KWON JI YONG” album, at 6 PM today. G-DRAGON is to kick off his solo world tour by holding a concert at the Sangam World Cup Stadium in Seoul on June 10.

Veteran idol Se7en is showing support for his former YG labelmate T.O.P on social media.

Meanwhile, T.O.P is currently being treated at the Ewha Womans University Mokdong Hospital for an apparent overdose on prescription tranquilizers. On June 8, the hospital released an official statement regarding the rapper’s status, explaining that while there is no immediate threat to his life, their medical team is continuing to monitor his recovery.
