G-Dragon To Make Comeback Soon, Filming MV Today

According to reports, BIGBANG leader G-Dragon is preparing for a solo comeback ahead of his solo world tour. The world tour, titled “G-Dragon 2017 Concert: Act III, M.O.T.T.E,” will officially start with a concert in Seoul on June 10.

Star News quotes an industry source, who said, “G-Dragon will be filming at least two or more music videos, and the filming [for those] started today (May 24). G-Dragon originally wanted to release new solo tracks before his concert in Seoul, and everything is going as planned. So long as nothing changes, chances are high that the new music video G-Dragon is filming will be released before the Seoul concert.”

In a statement to Xportsnews, a source from YG confirmed that G-Dragon is currently filming a new music video for his comeback, the official date for which has yet to be set.

BIGBANG’s T.O.P attends school event and surprises the audience


On May 23, a series of photos were posted via social media showing BIGBANG’s T.O.P attending a school event with his fellow military police band unit.

According to Instagram user younhwa1222, the idol star attended a children’s school for a police event, surprising the audience. The post read, “My lovely T.O.P. <3 Can this truly be??? Who would’ve thought out of all the people T.O.P would show up at a children’s school~.”

T.O.P can be seen neatly dressed in a military suit looking sharp with his short haircut, proudly standing on stage with fellow military band members.

iKON set themselves apart from BIGBANG and WINNER

The iKON members explained in all honesty how they differ from labelmate artists like WINNER and Psy.

Returning after one year, the iKON members sat down for an exclusive interview inside YG Entertainment's headquarters in light of their new single 'New Kids: Begin' on May 22.

In regards to their competition with fellow YG group WINNER, iKON commented, "We are glad that WINNER is doing well.  We will always be rooting for them."

As for the fierce battle on the music charts along with Psy, they mentioned, "We are honored to be listed on the music charts. It makes us feel so proud to just be allowed to perform alongside with him...We can't possibly say that we are competing against Psy," showing much respect for the world star.

The iKON members went on to describe their unique music genres compared to BIGBANG and WINNER. "BIGBANG presents that party vibe like you would have at a penthouse, while WINNER illustrates an elegant tone. As for us, we see ourselves as skater boys, riding on our skateboards in the parking lot; emitting a cool, and free-spirited street atmosphere." 

They added, "Since we are young, all seven of us tend to get rowdy. We are youths trying to spread our wings. Although we are not perfect, we are experimenting and trying different things at the moment."

Meanwhile, iKON will be releasing their new album on May 22.

A Forest Named After G-Dragon Opens In Jeju; Becomes First Star-Named Forest Ever


G-DRAGON IS INDEED A TRENDSETTER IN EVERY FIELD AND FOREST.

A forest named after BIGBANG‘s G-Dragon was opened in Jeju island on May 14. The forest, which bears the singer’s real name Kwon Ji Yong, is the first star-named forest, according to report.
A total of 50 citrus trees were planted inside the Citrus Museum in Seogwipo. The project was organized by the singer’s fan site, Always-GD, in partnership with Seoul-based crowdfunding service for tree planting organization Tree Planet.

The project, which began in August 2016, was done in celebration of G-Dragon’s upcoming 29th birthday in August. Harvests from the citrus trees will be donated to charities and social events.
“We are glad to open the forest in such a beautiful city like Seogwipo,” a representative of Tree Planet said. The organization then relayed its hope that the forest will become a rising tourist attraction in the city.
The leader of BIGBANG is currently gearing up for his second world tour ‘2017 World Tour: Act III, M.O.T.T.E’. The tour will kick off in Seoul on June 10 at Seoul World Cup Stadium. The singer is expected to visit cities in Asia, North America and Oceania. It will also mark G-Dragon’s first solo world tour since 2013.

[일간스포츠=황지영 기자] YG Entertainment is dominating digital music charts. YG Family including PSY, GD, SECHSKIES, WINNER, and Hyukoh are sweeping top ranks on charts.

As of May 12 at 7AM, PSY who came back with his 8th full album “4X2=8” on May 10 is staying in No.1 on seven music charts. “I LUV IT”, one of the title tracks of the new album, is in No.1 on the chart of Melon, Genie, Mnet, Soribada, Bugs, and Olleh Music. “Last Scene(feat. LEE SUNG KYOUNG)” is in the top place on the chart of “Monkey 3”.

The song in No.1 on the chart of NAVER Music is SECHSKIES’ “BE WELL”. SECHSKIES is dominating the chart with seven songs ranked in top 7. “THREE WORDS” released last year is included in top 7 as well, drawing keen attention.

Many YG singers are seen in top 10 on Melon chart as well. G-DRAGON featured for IU’s “Palette” ranked in No.3. WINNER’s “REALLY REALLY” ranked in No.5 is recording long run on the chart. Hyukoh of music label HIGHGRND led by TABLO sang IU’s duet song “사랑이 잘” which is ranked in No.6.

BIGBANG to Hold Exhibition around the Globe Starting with One in Taiwan


[OSEN=선미경 기자] BIGBANG is planning to hold a global exhibition.

To celebrate BIGBANG’s 10th anniversary, an exhibition titled “BIGBANG10 THE EXHIBITION A TO Z” was held last year. Now the same exhibition will be held in A11 of Mitsukoshi in Taipei City, Taiwan from June 24 to August 22.

“BIGBANG10 THE EXHIBITION A TO Z” was held in Seoul’s S-FACTORY in August last year and provided a chance to see BIGBANG’s past, present and future by showcasing various items categorized into 26 themes that begin with the alphabet a to z.

Not only the group’s Korean fans but also fans from abroad lined up to Seoul exhibition, and many cities have showed interest in hosting BIGBANG’s exhibition.

In the Taipei exhibition, visitors will be able to additional exhibits such as 25 unreleased images of BIGBANG members, props used in “FXXX IT” music video, three of G-DRAGON’s large-scale artwork pieces, and various other unreleased videos.

BIGBANG is to hold exhibitions in other cities around the world.

G-Dragon Shares Adorable Letter He Wrote To His Parents When He Was A Kid

In honor of Parents’ Day, G-Dragon shared one of his precious childhood memories.

On May 8, he uploaded a photo of a heartfelt letter he had written to his parents when he was young. The accompanying caption said, “#A handwritten letter from my childhood #Parents’ Day.”

In the letter, G-Dragon wrote, “Since it’s Parents’ Day today, I want to thank you two for all the love you’ve been giving me. You gave birth to me, raised me to be healthy, and sent me to a good school. I will never forget your kindness. I’m sorry for not being a good son to you, Mom.
